Henry, that last photo was awesome! You doubt yourself too much young man. Your enthusiasm is infectious, and your photography is top notch. Keep on keeping on mate! 👍👍
I was thinking, "No, Henry - absolutely not! What are you doing???" when you framed up that last photo. But my thoughts quickly changed to "WOW!" when I saw the finished product. Loved all the images but the last one was fabulous!
Last photo was amazing. I am o glad you are using Oly right now, as in your hands it proves that system doesn't matter when creating an art. What matters is the skillset and mindset. Congratulations!
Thanks mate!
Great vid Henry ! Love the pictures ! Tricky with a lot of cloud !
To echo what others have said, that last image is superb, it's a cracking shot.
Thanks so much!
Agree with the others - that last shot is absolutely stunning!
Ah thanks so much!
Thank you for the tip on balance with the peak to the left and the wave striking the rock on the right. I hope I remember it when I am on the coast. The large puddle rock was a really good picture over all. The sky added something with it’s various shades to include what I thought to be a storm cloud. The last picture was amazing. You are truly a great photographer. Thank you for your infectious attitude when you see something special. It always brings a smile even when I’m down. Excellent video.
Glad it was helpful!
Agree the boulder in front is a rad big
The last shot was great with really strong composition.
It looks like a great location, and you shot some stunning shots.
Thanks for taking us on your adventures
I think like many others Henry, that you have been too hard on yourself. you captured some wonderful compositions and the final photo was a killer shot and like every photography trip the most important thing is that you enjoyed the time you spent with Mother Nature.
Lol...lens changes are always a challenge especially with heavy Super-Telephoto lenses! I don't think I every use the same way or I just don't remember what worked the best!
Great photographs. You broke the stigma regarding Tenerife. I always thought Tenerife as touristy , partying place. Great to see that Tenerife it’s not just that. If you asked your audience where those photographs were taken without telling them most people probably would have said Faroe 🇫🇴 or Iceland. Not a chance Tenerife.
Lovely story and closing image. Come on folks let’s reward him by buying a ko-fi. Help it all happen
Wow, Henry! That last image is so stunning! Also, I really love the one at 6:25!
I don't change lens outdoors any more - just carry tiny cameras with a lens fitted - or change in the car. Dust spots are a nightmare on mirrorless cameras - I would always be cleaning the sensor if chaned lenses outdoors, especially on a windy beach. Great video, I hated Tenerife but it was probably more down to the company and movement restrictions.
Great photos again thank you Henry. Lovely location. I’ve been quite ill over the last few months and photography has had to take a back seat for me. However I ventured out a few nights ago to photograph some parachutists landing in our village sports ground. I managed to get some really nice photos and the Parachute club have asked me to go and take some air-air photographs. The pilots have also asked for the photos that I took as the parachutists left the aircraft. All in all it did me a great service to get me out again. All the best Graham
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and photographs. Wide angle is challeging, particularly in busy landscapes
It really is!
like your saying mate 'theres your dinner'....!! Ace...
Enjoyable hero shot. Keep at it but hope you enjoy / enjoyed the family holiday also.
Monochromes are like marmite, personally I love them and you took some great examples with the conditions you had 👍 seascapes are incredibly hard to get balanced, sea one side, land the other. You did well m8 and the last image was really nice 👌 I can imagine what that scene would look like with sunset colour, certainly worth a return 😉
Great pic in the end ..like you said go back ...during week 👍
That last photo was amazing IMO 👌🌊
Thank so much!!
Definitely a great place to photograph.
You shouldn't be disappointed as you captured some cracking image's as usual mate.
Look forward to the next episode.
Thanks 👍
That last shot one of your best stunning.
Henry, you got the best out of what there was that day. Wonderful b&w images! I understand doubting yourself, but I think you can tell from the comments that we all love your work. Carry on and mind...the slippery rocks😊
Thanks 👍
I'm up in Braemar and the Aurora app is getting excited - I'm more down to earth, been there before.
Some wise photographer (I think it was John Shaw...and probably others) once said you never get your best images the first time you visit a new location. Combine that with the rise in expectations when a lot of time, money and effort are spent to get to a new location, and it's no wonder our level of pressure and self-doubt increase dramatically. That being said, it's obvious from these awesome images that you captured that your talent and experience triumph over the afore-mentioned obstacles. Thoroughly enjoyed the video Henry...well done!
Wicked photos! The image at 6:28 is absolute class.
Thanks Tim 🙏🏻
Great photos Henry, that last one was the icing on the cake. 😊
Thanks! 😃
Great shots Henry. I don’t know whether it’s just my eyes/brain, but wide angle shots of foreground always look like a vertical wall to me.
Last image was excellent imho👍
Thanks for sharing this photography adventure.
I'm no pro but I always find myself critiquing other photographers images when I see them and the one starting at about 8:24 was no exception. I immediately thought that the building in the top left was too close to the edge, the boulder with the pool shouldn't be cut off on the left and the dark area at top right was too noticeable. I think I would have moved a little to right if possible. However, you may have lost the water at bottom right. Without actually being there you can't really know. Even with your doubts about it though, you are by far a better photographer than me and probably had the best image possible. On the other hand, the last image was killer. When you first framed it up I thought it not too good but the final image came out gorgeous. Thanks for all the work you put in to these videos.
‘Without actually being there you can’t really know’: that’s a really good point actually when critiquing others’ images, there could be lots of variables that you’d maybe not see
I agree that the crop to the foreground rock seemed a bit tight but, as you say, we weren't there. I don't have a problem with the dark sky on the right, as I think it helps to focus attention on the lovely area of sky in the middle
Henry mate - I’m out in Tenerife in a couple of weeks with my family too! I’m thinking exactly the same - get a car for a few days and go exploring … location tips welcome!!
Sounds great!👍🏼
How fab. I get what tou are saying about the sunset light. But to me that would have been a 'classic subset light'. The light that you captured absolutely matched the tone of the overal imagine. Loved it. What a great video.
Remember, it’s about the experience. Your images are amazing. Light or no light the atmosphere is there for sure. Loved all the photos, but the last one takes the cake…🤩
Absolutely!
Great last pic 📸.
Thanks 👍
Stunning pictures from a location I've never considered for photography. Must take my camera next time. 😊
You should!
Thanks Henry for a great video, loved the back and white images as well as the last shot 🤩 As a newbie to photography, I often think about the order to do things when switching lens, I thought it was just me 😉
I do love it when you say "There's your dinner!" 🤣🤣
With regard to the photography, Henry, I think you worry too much! Those images to created are brilliant!
Yu should never be disappointed with what you didn't get. Your pictures from that location are so much better than most other peoples because we have never been there. YOU HAVE TO BE THERE TO GET ANY IMAGE. You made the effort and were rewarded with what you got. Stunning pictures don't be so hard on yourself.
Love the last photo Henry, class as usual mate.👌🙂
Thanks 👍
Great set Henry. Love the black and white images, I think the landscape and conditions really were ideal for those shots. That said, the last image was great too, not too much colour perhaps, but you had some drama, so that was good. I hope you went back as the location looked worth a second visit if there was colour on offer!
Thanks a lot! Yes the drama was amazing in the end
I very much want to go to that beach with the stacks.
Bravo by the way. Keep having fun!
Thanks Paul
Great video. Last shot is stellar.
Thanks mate!
That last image was stunning Henry even without the light that you wanted!! Thanks for all of your hard work and sharing your beautiful images!! 😊
Thanks again!
As ever Henry it’s grand to see a much younger generation taking the time to search and analyze what it takes to create images and your thought processes that take you into an image! I seem to always come to this conclusion however, that today’s photographers are too dismissive of B&W and consider it always to be “Messing About” or something which is fun but in the end misunderstood. When you do B&W it’s often quite fine, but you shouldn’t shoot in Mono. Shoot in color and SEE in B&W. You are a fine landscape photographer, but when you see more intimately and IN B&W, I find the power of your seeing is more focused. Remove color and the challenge is greater as B&W is UN-forgiving! May I suggest a good deep dive into my mentors: Minor White, Bret Weston, Edward Weston, Aaron Siskind, and the Zone System! Bill Brandt who will show you that compositions do NOT always need to be balanced, and that off kilter, off balance, strange and forced perspective can be as artistically challenging as BALANCE which can be and often is BORING?
I have the same problem when I change the lenses, what to do first and I always end putting the cap on the lense. Anyhow you're been brave to change the lenses so close to the sea because of the spray of the waves, I'ld never dare :D. Love the B&W photos
Thursday evening, microwave meal from the Co op, bottle of red, and the impossibly enthusiastic and positive Mr Turner...ah la vie est belle! Or as you might say : " There's yer dinner! ". Another great video...
Fantastic!
Amazing photo at the end Henry, enjoyed the video 😊
Thanks so much 😊
OM-5 - whao its amazing what YOU are achieving with that camara 🎉
Incredible location Henry, inspiring 🙏
Thank you 🙌
Great place Henry to get some good compositions.... love all the results...B&W is so great to see.... don't over think your compositions... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😀
Thanks 👍
Top video as usual, keep up the good work, Pete.
Loved that last shot in particular. The perfectionist in us always leads us to think we could have done better and of course some stunning light makes a difference, but a shot to proud of none the less.
I like the images they are very beautiful
Thanks for sharing this adventure, Henry. Not only does the ocean always win, but the disappointing lack of beautiful light shows that nature always wins as well. You take what you get. Cheers!
Very true!
Outstanding b+w images Henry.
Great video and a beautiful location.
Wow, I love all of these photos! B&W was definitely the right decision. As always, the drama you have captured in all of them is sooo good!
8:53 I agree that the boulder is too dominant but I like the last shot…feels that you could pull out more detail in the shadows and do a bit more post processing?
Just discovered your channel today…May 13…love your attitude and passion. I do think the foreground picture with the large puddle of water in the foreground distracts from what’s the main star of the photo. Good luck.
Thanks and welcome
Great start to an amazing adventure Henry! Keep it going.
Great video! Switching lens in sea spray, you're a brave man ;-)
Henry! Those images were stunning! What's up with yer???? 😁 I Loved them - well done. Stop doubting yourself. your photography is AWESOME!
Thanks so much!
smashed it Henry!
Struggle is part of the adventure, you will get what you are looking for, BTW the ones you showed are great. Looking forward to the next video.
Beautiful location, and a great image!
brilliant video Henry, with some superb images, your approach, composition, and images definitely gets better, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely final image! 👏🏻
Many thanks!
That final shot was stunning , Henry!
Very nice Henry!
Some nice pics there Henry 👌
The last shot was spectacular!! Thanks for explaining this so well. I'm currently taking a Fine Art Photography course and I think watching someone in the field really helps me understand Composition much better. Also, I completely relate to your feelings when leaving a location. Many times I feel like I could have gotten better photos or just wish I could keep shooting. I appreciate your openness on your feelings. As always, I'm looking forward to your next video.
Another class video, look forward to the next one
Thanks 👍
Hey Henry, great video as always and yes, the lens changing battle is real 😂
It really is!
Another great video Henry! A terrific location and outstanding comp. That last image is a keeper and it'll only get better. Keep at it and maybe you'll get the light you're looking for. And beware of the tides! Keep up the good work mate! Cheers.
great video, Henry👏👏
Thanks! 😃
Great images Henry and think we are our worst critic at times even though we come away with images. Just got back from holiday on Tenerife last weekend and I had the chance to spend time at Santa Cruz capturing the auditorium building there which was great
Great monochrome work and the last image was stellar.
Thanks for sharing your time with us!
Yep... ocean always wins 🤣. Man that location is amazing. You should really go back if you can and have the time. Hopefully you have more luck on the light because I think you cold end up with some really nice hero shot. Cheers and enjoy the time there.
Nice tutorial Henry, cracking content and images. This is the reason we all subscribe. Keep up your good work 👌
Much appreciated!
Hi there Henry 😊 well done on this weeks video. Keep going and you'll make it. Your a good lad and I always love watching your videos. Happy days. God bless you Henry. New world just ahead.
Awesome photos Henry 👍📸
Thanks 👍
Great video as usual Henry. Fab images too!!
Many thanks!
I like your videos more and more.. your channel was a great discovery for me, your photos are truly spectacular. keep it up!!! greetings from Italy
Thank you very much!
Disappointed? Those photos are awesome!
Awesome video, I was there last night 😍
I am nicking that mate, there's ya dinner lol - p.s. you not look at the Olympus 12-40 f2.8 lens?
Haha it’s a good one! I didn’t mate as wouldn’t be long enough in the telephoto end 👍🏼
Thanks Henry, if you want a cheap getta away for sea stacks etc, I am going to Portimau in Algarve. I am there next month. All the best. P. S I think your stereotype is probably fully correct on the other side of the island. I didn't go this year as the place looks desicrated by ungly hotels and over tourisism. But I will consider the north so thanks for sharing. Please keep it up. Love the channel
Sounds brilliant mate I will looking into it
EPIC
Hery Henry, I see you're having fun with the m4/3, great images you took!
I especially like the format because the frame is giant and you get plenty of choice about how to fill it!
See you. ciao!
Another great video Henry, wether you did go back or not to the place, I thought that final image was brilliant, the mono ones were exceptional, as for your qundry about lens cap or lense onto camera 1st, I always put the lense onto the camera 1st
Thanks 👍
thumbs up - inspiring video 👍
Many thanks
Nailed it with that last image Henry. Great colours, did you go back later to get that shot.
Cheers!! I did go back in the end, but conditions weren’t any good
Really interesting to hear your thoughts on this video about framing, eg the rock peak on the left and the wave hitting the rock stack on the right. Great video. I’m assuming the focal lengths you quote are the actuals for the OM rather than the full frame equivalent.
People think, like you did Henry that Tenerife is just another holiday island, how wrong they, and you, are.
I first went to Tenerife in 1996, I chose Tenerife as I was on Kidney Dialysis at the time and had heard how good the facilities are there, how right were they, I’ve used the hospital in Playa de las Americas a few times for Dialysis and it’s always been great, well as great as Dialysis can be.
It was only the last time I was there back in 2019 that I was there whilst into Photography proper, I only had my entry level Canon DSLR but I got a few good photos, more so when we went to Loro Parque ( Zoo ), the Gorillas are very photogenic.
For some reason I’ve never been to the more scenic areas other than Mount Teide, places like Masca and La Oratava, excuse my spelling if it’s wrong, anyway, I’m hoping to get back next year as I suffered a Heart Attack which needed a Triple Bypass, so travelling abroad was a definite no no this year.
Was really enjoying this as I was in the same spot a few years ago.. but then I noticed something… is that a keffiyeh around your neck…?
Enjoy your holiday and *%#? the photography, you are only young once! Your pictures are always good so there is no hurry...next time go to Benidorm....
