The light jail sentencing is the even worst than the military officers' killing of the recruit. The victim's mom said it best about the sentencing. If I lived in either Korea, I wouldn't even have kids anymore. The society and government is too rotten.
It's a wonder why some young men find ways to avoid enlisting in the military after many news about bullying, unauthorized harsh punishments and mishaps happening at the camps. For those who who don't get it. Their laws don't have the same level of punishments that the USA does. I think it is a good thing over all instead of throwing away a person and them living off taxpayer money. They'll have to "live" with their action and the consequences. And so will their kids. There is such a stigma for kids related to "murderers." and for it to be such a preventable and dishonorable situation. Ya, they do the time and then it's "dudes you are on your own" with a crappy future outlook.

That’s horrible. Their sentences are too short. The two of them were old enough to comprehend what could’ve happened and yet they took advantage of their positions. The remorse they claim to have, shouldn’t be a factor in determining their sentences. Drug offenders in Korea seem to get heftier and longer sentences. There should be at least 2 sets of eyes to assess anything done in the military.
