I don't understand why Paul Carrack isn't recognised as one of the outstanding performers of our time. The man is an absolute legend in my eyes and I've enjoyed that fantastic voice (which is still maturing) for over forty years.

Over the years he has had numerous hits with Ace, Squeeze, Mike and the Mechanics, and during his solo career as well. I think the main problem for Carrack has been that he doesn't fit neatly into one genre of music, which I see as a strength but critics often have difficulty accepting. Beyond that, some of his music, particularly as a solo artist, is a bit uneven quality wise. Still, if one were to take his strongest offerings, they would be pleasantly surprised to find how many solid songs he has put out over the course of a lengthy career. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him play live yet but it is something that has been on my bucket list for a while. I have watched a few interviews with him via TH-cam and he seems very humble, down to earth, and an all around nice bloke.
I AGREE! The man is 67 this year and his tone is so beautiful..Paul and Daryl Hall are two of my all time favorites! I am 54 now and remember them in the 70's as a kid! I appreciate them ALL who are still out there touching us with their SOULS!

utterly superb musician with a voice like velvet and he writes songs that touch every heart string you'll ever have. He's also a really kind guy as I asked what I thought was his management about sheet music for his songs and had a lovely personal reply from Paul. Could watch and hear this a thousand times and never be fed up with it.
Yeah I saw him a couple of weeks ago and he is still as good. Pity he isn't in Mike and the Mechanics anymore but Roachford does a good job. I saw them as well on Friday night.

I had the privilege to watch this man for my annual fix at the symphony hall March 2020 Birmingham just before the lockdown as ever never fails to entertain actually I think he gets better looking forward to 2022 show

That's exactly how I feel when I listen to this song too. It reminds me of my first real crush, and all the feelings that come with that. I remember when I was a teenager, I used to put this song on repeat and just sit in my room and cry. It was like a moment of pure joy and heartache. It's a beautiful thing to be able to connect with music in such a powerful way.

A trio of us, love live music. ageing dudes it has to be said, lots of stories but we always come back to Paul Carrack. He is a brilliant musician, wrote 2 songs for the eagles, lead singer in Mike and the Mechanics, Keyboard player in squeeze, wrote "How Long" when he was in Ace. We love his shows. We have done 4 in the last 3 years, most at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield and one at the Sheffield City Hall. Never disappointed, The backing band, "Tinlin" are now among our favorites.

Our little band of music lovers are regulars at the Leeds festival, and the arena in Sheffield love our annual visit to the Winding wheel in Chesterfield or the Sheffield City hall to watch a master at work. Back again at the Winding Wheel Chesterfield in February, it will be a great evening. I am finally getting to see Paul Carrack live for the first time at Lynn in February 2015 next year, really looking forward to it. Wish I could get him to sing 'HELP ME' which is my favourite but the new 'I'M LOSING YOU' off his new album 'RAIN OR SHINE' is coming close second! You really relate to his music if you have been through hard times and come through it... rain and shine! xx
