That's fantastic to hear! I'm thrilled you had a brilliant holiday in Dundee last year. It's always wonderful when a place leaves a positive impression. I hope your return visit this year is just as enjoyable, and you create more wonderful memories in the city. 😍🙏
Legend has it that 2 men from Dundee left for London in 1884 to look for work and found work in East London in a jam factory, and after working there for 2 months or so, started a football team called Millwall. So us cockneys down here are grateful for those men and our football club use the Scottish lion on our merchandise. We salute those men. Love all here at Millwall fc.
Thank you for sharing this amazing story! It’s incredible how two men from Dundee played such a pivotal role in the founding of Millwall FC. It’s always great to hear how connections between places and people shape history. Love the fact that the Scottish lion is a symbol of that legacy. Saluting those pioneers and the Millwall family from here as well! ⚽🦁
Thank you so much, Danny! It's great to hear from someone who has such a long connection to Dundee. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Take care and here's to many more years of wonderful experiences in Dundee! 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for your comment! 😊 I tried to give a glimpse of Dundee and the RRS Discovery, but you’re right-I didn’t focus much on the ship itself. The V&A behind it certainly grabs attention, but maybe I should plan another video to highlight the Discovery in more detail. Thanks for the suggestion!
Ever generation thinks the city/town where they were born is horrible but take it from me Dundee of the 2023s is better than many or of it's self in the 1950s
Thank you for sharing your perspective! It's interesting how our views on our hometowns can change over time. I'm glad to hear that you think Dundee has improved significantly since the 1950s. Every city evolves, and it's great to appreciate the positive changes. Thanks for watching and for your thoughtful comment!
Just watching the video, I believe Dundee is the coolest city in UK because all the people there are wearing coats. The roads are wet meaning rain comes anytime of the day.
That's a fun observation! Dundee does have its own unique vibe, and the weather can definitely keep you on your toes! Thanks for sharing your thoughts while watching the video-glad you enjoyed it!
Loved this.. I'm a proud Dundonian. There's loads of lovely wee cobbled lanes in the town. The folks are friendly. There's stunning parks and beauty spots... Ilive 10mins away from a burn/stream and a nature walk that runs alongside the burn. There's deer.. herons birds of prey..I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. ❤
I know dundee aint big compared to Glasgow but its hardly little before thatcher got in power dundee was the third largest city in Scotland population 190,000
Omg, Dundee is a tip. It has absolutely nothing to offer. They tore down all the old historic buildings and built endless hotels and that ghastly VA monstrosity. What the hell does Dundee need all these new hotels for, nobody's going to use them. They have closed all the main large department stores and whats shops that are left are not worth visiting. Btw I was born in Dundee but would never return there.

The former home town of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley
You're absolutely right! Mary Shelley, the famous author of Frankenstein, spent part of her life in Dundee. Thanks for sharing that bit of history! 😊
You didn’t show us much of the !Scotts ship rather than that monstrosity behind it
Thanks for your comment!
Dundee ist magnifiq,🙏🥹
many thanks for your comment! Glad you enjoyed it. 😍🙏
Is Belmont Hall still the tallest building in Dundee? 😂
Hate the pedestrianisation. Takes the city centre feel away.
Plenty of student accommodation for some odd reason. Every place is being converted to student flats. I wonder why this is?
I have no idea 😉. many thanks for your comment 😍

Yeah I hated it as a kid in the 70s but it's definitely changed for the better.

Few year ago it was the murder capital of Scotland try going into the housing schemes and you'll see the shit hole that it is
More cosmopolitan now
Absolutely! Dundee has really transformed over the years and has become much more cosmopolitan.
I know dundee aint big compared to Glasgow but its hardly little before thatcher got in power dundee was the third largest city in Scotland population 190,000
The city's transformation over the years has been significant, but it still retains its unique charm and character. Thanks for pointing that out! 😊

Eh... No
Dundee is not a cool city. It's a deprived, run down dump.
Spot on it’s a total embarrassment
It's just like any other city. Has its bad bits.
@@MarleyBu Some, like Glasgow and Dundee have many more bad bits than good.
Dundee population are also like zombies.
I lived in Dundee for many years ,and people were friendly nice city ,But the last few years has become run down
Its a dump
