      Sad note... Gatesville Texas, 1st Convenience Bank, inside Walmart, refused to order the $2.00 bills, and I’ve stopped going to that Gatesville branch. I’ve complained on a webchat about this... There was no response.

      7/21/2019...(21/7/2019) I visited my Stephenville, 1st Convenience Bank inside Walmart and asked for $2.00 bills to spend.. I was told, they did not have any, as they are open on Sunday's from 12pm to 4pm.. I did stop by the Gatesville 1st Convenience Bank inside Walmart at Gatesville, TX and they still did not have any $2.00 bills.. I have already reported via webchat to the Bank site about the issue. I haven't had any follow ups or any kind of information. Other than one branch, approximately 84 miles north of me, that might come across $2.00 bills. It would seem, the larger populations might carry or northern cities are more easily accessible for $2.00 bills in Northern Texas.. I haven't had the opportunity to follow up on the Waco area, or Killeen area branches... If any, I might get a few crumpled or defaced $2.00 bills. Some Texans ARE hoarding them, and I do spend what I have.

      @@Discomike999 Yes. The revival of the $2 bill in 1976, was intended to save on printing less $1 bills, before they tried to save money by replacing the $1 bill with the Susan B. Anthony $1 coin (also called the "Carter Quarter" because it was issued by the Carter Administration, and was confused for a quarter a lot. In fact my grandaunt bragged a lot about making a 75-cent profit on getting a SBA dollar as a quarter, quite a few times, many years ago), and one time, before the Golden Dollar came out in 2000, I had some SBA's on me, and the cashier at a store I was at, was out of $1 bills and asked anyone, if they had any singles, and I told them I had some SBA dollar coins, and asked the cashier if she wanted them, to which she immediately responded "Yes" out of desperation. I used to be a $1 coin fan, as I was told that a $1 coin would help the $2 bill and eventually a $2 coin circulate. And contrary to what people say, about there being no place in a cash register for $2 bills or halves, there are spaces for both the $2 bill and the half, in most 5-bill/coin slots, BILLS $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, with $50 and $100 bills going under the $20's and checks and charge slips and other things going underneath them. And the COINS would be 1c, 5c, 10c, 25c, and 50c, and possibly also $1 coins. And although the old Eisenhower (Ike) $1 coin was made out of the same amount of metal(s) as four quarters, the half was also made out of as much metal(s) as two quarters, the half was made to save on making less quarters. I don't care for $1 coins anymore. I just want to see a redesigned half dollar coin reverse series, similar to the multiple quarter reverse programs, a reissued 2-cent coin, to save on, and carry less pennies (there was also a 3-cent coin, but I don't believe it's necessary), a redesigned $1, $2 and an issued $3 bill, just as they originally planned a $3 bill, and I believe the reason for a $3 bill, was due to the fact that, back when they had a $2.50 Gold Quarter Eagle and a $5 Gold Half Eagle, they also had a $3 gold coin, for making it easier to purchase a sheet of 3-cent postage stamps, (and a 3-cent silver, and a 3-cent nickel coin for making purchases of single 3-cent postage stamps easier), although the $3 coin was said not to be popular, so, although they likely made a $2 bill, to be less confusing than a $2.50 bill, and they had planed a $3 bill as well, I'm guessing the reason they planned a $3 bill was, due to the American Public being used to the $3 denomination, in a coin form, however, due to the $3 coin's unpopularity, they scrapped the plans for the $3 bill, or so I figure, which is sad. I was once against both, the half dollar coin and the $3 bill, and now I would love to see the half circulate, and I have a plan for a $3 bill I'm trying to get support for, honoring the sled dog, "Togo" the true hero of the "Great Race of Mercy" that Balto is known for, however, you can see my Togo $3 bill proposal, on my Facebook page, "The Togo $3 Bill Group" which has a blue silhouette of the left side of the Balto Memorial statue, in Central Park, New York, to honor both Balto, and Togo, and for the color theme, for the security color feature.

    I got 5 of them right, and I feel bad that I forgot how many times the words "TWO DOLLARS" appears on the current $2 bill. However, John, your question about "How much percentage of U.S. currency printed is $2 bills, should've been "E. None of the above" because I've already read that $2 bills, although true, "not rare" do not even make up 1% of the U.S. currency printed, but actually "less than 1% of all U.S. currency printed" Have you ever read that?

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Last I read is that it's more like 1.5%, to be honest with you. It depends on what you're reading and when it was published. But for this, I'll fall back on what some of my teachers used to say: pick the BEST answer. And the best answer here is 1%.

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary

    a 32 note sheet should only cost $64; why does the mint charge $102?

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because although it's $64 in currency, it's not easy to get in that form. You want 32 notes uncut in a sheet, there's a premium you have to pay for it.
