    Well done! I gave each of my nephews an 'emergency' $2 - I told them at any time in life they could bring it to me and I would swap it for a $50 bill no questions asked. They also know they can purchase their bills back for... $50. So far, one has taken advantage of it; we'll see how it plays out in life for them!

    My grandma passed away in 2017, and my mom told me that she saved this bill for me. I kept it thinking that it was worth bazillions, but now I know that it's worth much more for me, and for others who have such treasure. I'm all the way down in Honduras and surely I will gift this to younger generations for me to be remember always, starting with my grandma.

    I once gave away a $2 bill to a transient in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was strapped for cash at the time and thought my good deed would help bring me some good luck. It was the exact opposite almost from the moment I gave it away. Nothing but bad luck for years. It wasn't until I randomly came into possession of another $2 bill years later that my financial luck changed....Now I keep a fresh one on me at all times. Always a good conversation starter as well.

      I have never had any money for the last straw and I had to go back to the knowledge manual "to study and show yourself approval." I was working on Three jobs, I didn't know it would be a good two years before I knew anything about the life outside of All work, and No sleep or play! I was just saving up two dollars bill's and I got so many I bought a Big photo album and I just put the money in like pictures and the funds ran out of spaces for the book. I was thinking about the 5$ a week allowance for my dollar a day I thought I would get the 2$bill 1or two per week to get the rest of my lunch time, and the funds ❤️ paid for the last Year payments for the rent. I had 3 babies and a not reg working husband 😅❤ thank you Jesus Christ

Walked to the kitchen grabbed a pair of scissors and cut it in half. WTF? 2 dollar bills are bad luck he said.

I was more into coins rather bill's but I like bills more now (especially 2 dollar bills) I'm pretty sure I have like 3 or 2 2 dollar bills.(one is a red seal) I got into it the first time in 2018 when I took a picture of a 100 dollar bill my grandma was going to pay a bill with before she left. Close to 20 years ago, WalMart was helping with an Easter fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network. For $6, you could buy a crisp new 2003 $2 bill, in a paper diecut folder with a sort of COA and everything packaged in a nice blue envelope. Each bill had had a diecut bunny or ducky placed neatly over Jefferson's portrait. And the cashiers were promoting them as an authentic variation printed by the US Government (wrong!).
    I was a coin collector and didn't know very much about paper currency. I was suckered and bought seven of them! Oh well, I've still got those 2003 series $2 bills with their packaging. They must be worth $2 apiece by now. And, I supported the charity.

    To get people to buy things, retailers should use $2 in the $1 slot, and use the extra coin cup for $1 coins. This would get people's attention at time of sale and might save on individual actions for the cashier. When you put a $20 in at one of the laundromats in my area you get 16 gold dollar coins and 16 quarters. Not only does this cause 25% of normal wear on the washing machines' coin mechanisms but that laundromat is always packed.

      Is it packed because it's giving those coins, or packed because people need to get their laundry done? Regardless of which cash register slot a vendor uses, just giving them out as change is important. And people who are aware of the $2 should just start using them more.

    1:08:08 - The 1928 $2 U.S. Note with serial number A00000003A is not "the third one printed", it is the top left note of the third serially numbered sheet (remember, a run of star notes would have been printed prior).
    The A00000001A note would be at the top left of the first serially numbered sheet of that issue and all 31 of the other notes of that sheet would also end with a '1' so that when sheets are stacked and cut the 'bricks' are composed of sequentially numbered notes.
    Also, the numbers were applied as the final step prior to release. Two full sheets (64 notes) had received their final printing before his A00000003A note did.

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, a technicality if you want to go by actual running though the machines. Biut it's the third one issued a serial number. It just depends on how you spin the tale. But 00000003 is still pretty cool; there's only two with a serial number lower than that.

    • @-oiiio-3993
      @-oiiio-3993 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary Not "technicality", fact.
      The A00000003A note is, indeed, pretty cool and could be accurately described as 'third in the series' and with 'only two lower' but it was not, by any stretch of imagination, the "third one printed" as claimed by the owner.
      The numbering system that allows sheets to be stacked, then cut and wrapped with the resultant 'bricks' being sequentially numbered is, indeed, a part of the 'Two Dollar Bill' history and should be told accurately.

    • @-oiiio-3993
      @-oiiio-3993 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary " Biut it's the third one issued a serial number. [sic]"
      No, it is not.
      Though A00000003A is the third number in the series, two full sheets (64 notes) received serial numbers and were stacked prior to the time sheet #3 entered the press for final printing.

    • @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
      @TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was there in 2013 when they printed them. I saw the process. You're right, it wasn't the third one printed, because they printed thousands of them first, none of which had a serial number. THEN they were all fed through the machine to receive treasury seals and serial numbers, and on one 32-bill sheet, one of the numbers received 00000003, seconds after other higher numbers because of its position on the sheet. So we can speak technicalities all day. Doesn't change the fact that this bill has the third lowest serial number of this series. That a collector says it's "the third bill ever printed" is inherently wrong. But what other language would you like people to use to describe it? People like you and I know it was actually wasn't the third bill printed, but would you have preferred I stop this guy during the video and explain everything we've hashed over here? Let him and the rest of the public see an 03 and say it's the third bill. For most of the uninformed public, it is.

    4:42 A few years back, as part of my total, I handed a young cashier a few Kennedy Halfs, and got the slack jawed reaction from her, staring at the odd things in her hand. After a few seconds of this, I asked her if she had ever seen a half dollar before, and she had not.
    I've never seen a $2 bill in circulation and I'm an old man. Even so, I've known about $2 bills since I was a kid. People just don't use physical money enough nowadays, and a lot of them aren't aware things like $2 bills and fifty-cent pieces are a thing.
    In the later part of this documentary, they talk about all the different people who have used $2 to make a statement. And we see people with hundreds of dollars intended for that purpose. I reckon it varies by location. But, you will rarely find a single bill in banks around here.

      Where's "here"? In my journey to make this film, yes, I did come across quite a number of people and communities who love and use twos, but I guess their availability depends on the location. Still, any bank should be able to order them if a customer requests them. I'd go to yours and say you need some for a charity giveaway, car wash, etc (give them a reason why you need them, even if you're lying). They may be lazy and not want to order them but they can and should. Then spend them around town and soon others will want more and they too will go to the bank. You can help ramp up their circulation in your town.
