I was just reading the back and forth on a forum where you wouldn’t believe the number of people who questioned why the people needed an independent inspector for a new rig and actually said why are you working with a dealer that you don’t trust any more than that? Duh.
We can't save them all 😉

I find it is difficult to assess cost of repairs on these units. They pretty much all have some issues. Are potential owners using your report as a negotiating tool (I would)? Are the dealers typically making the repairs so as not to deliver the problem to the next customer? Your experience on this would be valuable to us.
It goes both ways!
Some will address the repairs if it is in their tech capacities, or the customer negotiate a price contingent to the quote they received from the manufacturer to negotiate.
Crooked seller will pass the unit to an unknowingly naive customer that will buy on the dealers good-faith...no worries, it's all under warranty 🤭😁🤣
In your line of work. Have you ever found an rv that was good. And are there any good rv's out there? I am beginning to rethink about becoming a full time rver. It seems they are all bad to one degree or another. Thank you guys. My husband and I are learning a lot from your channel.
They will all have fixable issues. The decision you have to make, after an inspection of such unit, is...what is my threshold! What is too uncomfortable to negotiate with!
From a new RV to a used one...it's all about the money and time invested vs the market value of such RV.
80% of them are good and worthy of being purchased, with the right tool to negotiate...refer back to the CRL list of an inspection report!

Rightfully, the press and the government go bonkers when the door of an airplane explodes, one wonders why they don't do the same thing about the quality of RV's and how people are being ripped off and possibly accidents on the highway which could lead to lives lost.

Great video 😀 .You mention it's new and 1 year old but has 2400 miles and generator hours. Given the water damage and electrical issue, did someone own this and trade it in after they discovered problems? Is there a " carfax " for rvs that can give you the history.
You can pull a Carfax on any RV.
This one has never been titled. I assume it's been transferred a few times and probably brought at different shows maybe. All speculation 🤪

After all I have seen in the RV industry it’s hard to trust anyone who wants to sell you either a new or used RV. I wouldn’t buy diddly squat without having an independent inspection. The cost of spares and repairs is another factor that makes buying an expensive motorhome nerve racking. The industry is seriously flawed and all about money and speed. I’d suggest you have a savings account just for your RV and maintain a balance of say $50,000 just for emergencies and alternative expenses. Thank you both for exposing the truth behind the massive expense of covering up faults and problems that you are about to invest in.
At the very least making people aware of the decision they are about to make, right?

Amazing - How much water damage you can get in one year. I once had to replace a 3’x3’ roof section. All I could find was a pin sized hole in the middle of it. It was an older rv so it had leaked several years.
People don't realize how quick a neglected seam can do so much damage right ?
