As for the stylus - unless you are a bored hipster (oh.. i mean artist ofc) and only want to take notes or mark stuff, a cheap capacitive stylus will do just fine with the s5e. the one real advantage of the s6 is the better cpu.. I bet 99% of what people do on an android tablet is watching movies/youtube, looking at their foto collection, checking mails and chats, slow paced easy gaming and some emulation of dos games or whatever. Hardcore gaming? Movie editing/Rendering? With devices this small screen estate & with such bad Input periphals - really? I think this is more of made up marketing than a real usecase for most people.
I don't see the point of thd S6 its alot of money on a premium andriod tablet which market has crashed due to google very late support of mdm. If i was samsung i would of gone 8CX and put Windows 10 on it with Samsung dex suppport.

I bought the S5e and seriously, I feel great using it. Day to day task is like a breeze. For someone using it for recording my podcast, a little editing of video or photos, listening to music, content viewing, browsing, it's perfect! Rarely feel the stutter, tho. Even it stutter, still bearable. But if you would like to do more tasks that demand more power, tab S6 is worth it. Oh, I even have the keyboard cover for S5e, it's soooooo satisfiying to type on it. I type more with it. And the longer I use it, the more I get used to all the nitpicking that people said. Seriously, sometimes reviewer is nitpicking too much just because it's not snappy like other device does. Snappy devices is just for show-off, but a device that just works and stable is rarely got the spotlight. And yeah, my S5e works fine and as to my expectation. Once I was having a family trip and I never went to the place of destination. So as the road guide, I was using my tab S5e for the map, browsing any recreational activity, take pictures, etc. And yet the battery never gone down more than 30 percent for 8 hours of heavy use. The battery performance is amazing if you can utilize the right mode such as dark mode on every app, adaptive brightness, etc. All and all, it all depends on how we utilize with what with have. Trust me, for someone that has a limited budget, Tab S5e will exceeds all your expectations! This is from my side of review, though. Hehehe

Yeah cant go wrong with the Tab 5SE use it as a Backup to my Laptop in Productivity and Word Processing Tasks. Battery life is Fantastic Samsung Dex worlds great with a Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard and Content consumption is fantastic. I bought mine on Contract but for only £18 a month you cant go wrong.
I went tab s5e. I use it for media consumption but primarily for work. It's absolutely capable using office apps, operating in a MDM environment, and I have not noticed any issues using dex mode (both on tablet and via monitor).

Try getting the s6 tablet its impossible now to purchase from a store in the uk. they have stopped making it i was going to get it but im not buy on line and taking a chance i dont need the stress. You can still get the s5e so i will get the 6g 128 memory cellular model i have the 4g 64 memory. Cellular model already had it two years great tablet. 🇬🇧👍
DeX is really cool, and pretty handy. I went for the tab s6, I think it will age better, and being a person who gets annoyed at stutters and inefficiencies I think the faster chipset would pretty much guarantee an amazing experience, it seems I made a great choice.
Commenting from s5e. Its a great tablet. I don't need to play high graphics game, stylus, 6Gb ram. I used it for media and study purpose. And I'm really happy with it
I been using Galaxy Tab S5e for more than a month now and it's worth it for me! Even though i don't play much games and i only do more on working. Very fast and no need to upgrade to a better Tablet! This tablet will be the best tablet for me!
Good comparison but as I use the s5e for about 1 month I must say it is amazing in gaming. I play games like Fiesta run FF XV pocket edition riptide GP need for speed the room and many more. All these play perfectly fine without noticing lag or fps drop. Also about multitasking I usually use 2 applications in split screen with TH-cam vanced in a small screen and everything is smooth. I am a user with high requirements and the s5e is definitely fill them. So I can't recommend the s6 for about double price at any way except someone that use the spen a lot. My 2 cents.
G T i use s5e too, even tho i am power user too, i could notice anything that this tab is less powerful than my iphone x when everyone is talking about that crazy A11 bionic chip. I also use my tab for gaming, gaming while video recording in 2560x1600 40mbps and also for 3D editing. Cannot complain anything but the original keyboard which is way better on s6

I have the S5e and upgraded to the S6 and I'd say the gaming difference for me is like night and day. I guess it depends on what games you're playing, but for me it's a huge difference.
Siri Duffa if you use android as u should, then u would know about developer options where u can select 4x msaa and your graphics will be same as it is on tab s6. So it is not a problem for me at all and i wont have to pay a lot of money
Basically if you need the stylus for note-taking or drawing, or if you plan to do a lot of gaming, get the tab s6. If the tablet is just for casual browsing and media consumption -> Tab S5e You can get those capacitive stylus for the s5e online for cheap. Not as precise and doesn't have palm rejection though.

I like the level of detail you go into..speaker quality, screen reflectivity..etc...not just in this review..these should be standard for laptops, tablets etc(wish you gave more phones the same review treatment) No one else is covering it to this level and as a tech enthusiast, these things are actually important to me when i make a purchasing decision. Also, it gives credit to the manufacturers that do put effort into these things. I like big speakers on laptops and when you took the cover off the bottom of the 2019 13 inch macbooks and showed the difference noone else showed to the same extent, I canceled my baseline order. I've been following tech reviewers for about 10 years and you seem to be my goto at the moment. well done and keep it up!
I almost went with the S6 lite,but ended up buying a Rose Gold S5e on a random Amazon Prime sale. Glad I went with an AMOLED display,no way can I go back to an LCD screen after this. Maybe a 120hz LCD display but damn do AMOLED/OLED's look good on tablets for streaming videos and movies 👌
My problem with the s6 is that there is not a place to store the s pen unless you spend the extra money on the keyboard and case. I don't understand why they didn't just make a slot like they do on the note phones.
Love the review. Nice mentioning the HDR experience and I think Samsung is on the right track, people buying a premium Android tablet these days will require premium features like that.
I actually prefer the S5e keyboard due to the smaller footprint. If pen input and touchpad is needed I'd rather go with a similar prized but far more powerful Surface GO / Pro

Two things that I would like to see are a storage speed comparison (Samsung cheaped out on the S5e storage compared to the Tab S4). Also a WiFi test, which the performance on my S4 is quite (very) poor for an AC device. Samsung added MU-MIMO for the S6 which should definitely improve things with a capable router. These two things make a big difference in everyday use. People look at wireless cards and assume it's just bandwidth but it's much more impactful on latency and the amount of time you spend looking at the spinny loading wheel vs what you mean to look at.

Hey, I have an important question. Does it lag now? I have a Galaxy A70 with pretty much the same CPU, and it lags after a year of use. I really consider getting the S5e, I just don't want it to lag.
@@hoppebold02 I am also using the Samsung Galaxy Tablet S5E and it doesn't lag even when I am playing games in it, but it may start sluttering or slowing down if you will play any graphic game in it at its highest graphic settings..It runs buttery smooth and can easily run majority games smoothly at their medium graphic settings if not the highest..But honestly, The Samsung Tablet S5E is not a tablet which you should purchase if you are searching for a tablet only to play games in it..The Snapdragon 670 processor in the Samsung Galaxy S5E isn't powerful enough to run the graphic intensive games in their highest graphic settings, It will start sluttering and overheating after running the game for 1 hour..I would recommend you to purchase the Sameung Galaxy Tablet S6 instead of Samsung Galaxy Tablet S5E, The tab s6 has the powerful snapdragon 855 processor which can easily run majority games in their highest graphic settings at 60 fps without lagging, sluttering or even slowing down for a second..

Not to mention the price is a real good selling point it’s only $600 for the 128 GB version and about $700 for the 256 GB version that’s way better than the iPad you get the 256 GB version on the iPad It’s like $1200 I think or something like that which means the tab s6 is way better than that it’s half as cheaper than the new iPad Pro 11
Compared to the S5e, the S4 has a faster processor, bigger battery, S-Pen, and headphone jack. The S4 only costs $50 more than the S5e (from Best Buy). Also the S5e has WiFi issues when you hold the left side. I hope this post helps someone.
Getting a tablet mainly to watch stuff, read stuff, and game. For that reason, visuals and performance extremely important to me. But price is also factor which is why im not even gonna touch S7. Gonna go with S6. The videos and colors clearly looked better on that one (s5e looked blue, cloudy, and blurry) and it wont stutter in gaming as much. Thanks so much for this vid.
Thank you for your reviews Max. Also, have you noted any need for multiple taps on the S5e? I am seeing some touch sensitivity issues with the 4G and 6G S5e. I briefly had the S6 and felt it was heavy, especially with the keyboard case. The S5e is almost so thin I worried about bending it. It is featherweight. I felt the S6 felt much chunkier in the brief time I tried it. Maybe it is my imagination ;=) I am still within the return window and am torn. I think I will go watch your full review of the S5e as I see you mention stutters.
I picked up the Tab S6 and the warm tint is the Natural look that for some reason comes default. Under the Display settings you can turn on Vivid to make it look cool white or saturated like the S5e or the Galaxy phones
Good Review & Comparison Mr. Tech. I'm looking to Upgrade from a G Tab A. The Tab S5e seems like a nice choice to make. However, the S6 Lite has some Features that make it a Compelling Choice as well.
With some sales lately, the tab 6 is only 100 more than the s5e. I think it is worth that for stylus alone. I only wonder why reviews for tab 6 aren't great. Most stores have the s5e near 5stars, and the tab 6 and more like 3 or 3 and half stars?
I'm just gonna get the tab s5e. I don't need dual cameras, I don't need so much premium feature. The tab s6 is too expensive. I just need a decent and fast tablet for gaming, schoolwork and multitasking. I'm getting the tab s5e.
The main problem with these S tablets is that they can randomly brick on you at any time. I have the S3 and I barely used it and it bricked on me while I was watching TH-cam. It went into a constant bootloop until it died and now it doesn't turn on anymore and the repair cost from Samsung is $169.
@Robert Ratskywatsky The issue is called the black screen of death and it can definitely happen. I only had my S3 for a year and used it very lightly then it decided to brick on its own one day while running the TH-cam app. This can also happen to the S4 and S5e from what I've read.
Im my opinion the tab s6 is better because its processor is way better, if you want a laptop, buy a tab s6 and the keyboard and use the desktop mode, and it comes with s-pen the bad thing is the price of the keyboard. And for example: On tab s6 Fortnite runs at 60 fps on high and 30 fps on epic (max graphics) and on tab s5e it only runs At 30 fps on low, the tab s6 is good for desktop and gaming, and the tab s5e is for watching Netflix TH-cam etc...
@@stickmanninja318 Because Epic did not update for s5e same to Netflix. Galaxy S6 with full speed will damage the core easily. Mostly with full power dies easily. While s5e does not give full speed adrenaline, but gives smooth play. Mostly high speed chips in my PC GTX Titans gpu etc, android they died faster. Not lasting long. If you see benchmark that have high points means they will die fast.
I have a tab a 10.1 and I watched this to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything I particularly care about, I want right, unless adobe rush or lumafusion come to the tablets and perform better on the s5e or s6 then I won't notice a difference
On the s5e you don't have to push the power button for the fingerprint to work and turn on the screen it turns on soon as fingerprint is scanned just by touching the button.
excellent comparison. for stylus fans like me and visually OCD, I've made up my mind on prefering S6. for a toss around Movie and App Tab for the kids, S5e is PERFECT! I predict a huge jump in purchases for it when the price goes down a bit more. with such a Functional product as the S6, i doubt the price will drop much, with atleast a consistent resell and long term Value. 🤔👍😌🌠🥐☕☕☕
@Thatshow ED BS you can use a simple Stylus it won't be anywhere near as good as the S-Pen but they do work next time do research before you say something dumb.
Reviewing both S5e and S6 before committing to either, Personally, I think the S5e is the better tablet for most people because: one piece keyboard case design of the S5e is without the problems of the S6 keyboard case which is notorious for becoming unstuck and falling off. Slimmer design of the S5e. Better battery life of the S5e. Most people including myself have no need for the S pen. S5e keyboard keys are slightly bigger than the S6. S5e power button fingerprint scanner eliminates an extra step compared to S6. S5e has the same screen and audio quality as the S6. The S5e 128gb, 6gb Ram configuration is more than enough for most people.
I'm watching this on my tab s5e the rose gold colour is very beautiful and its perfect for TH-cam or Netflix. I personally use it for my online classes ( sadly it doesn't have a s pen but I'm fine with that ) but I use it for Yt videos aswell. The speakers are amazing too ❤❤❤
The Tab S6 is such a good tablet, imo way better than the iPad they just need to work on the input lag of the sylus and the update program, cause even if they put the best hardware and software on that thing, if it doesn't receive updates after 1-2 years it's a bad deal, cause unlike phones, people don't tend to upgrade their tablets often.
I picked up the s5e because i use it to watch movies and videos so this works great don't need to spend double the amount of money just for the s6 who cares about the s pen i have the note 10 plus so i use that
S5e does the job if primary purpose is multimedia consumption and casual gaming. S6 ofcourse has better performance as it costs much higher. I think right now android or iOS tablets can't replace laptops so I don't see much of a use of keyboard covers. If you want to ramp up the performance further then pay more and get ipad pro the best performing tablet.

I went with the Tab S6, the fingerprint sensor now works with the display off after December Security Update. Didn't care for S5e with its known wifi issue. S5e cost to much for a tablet that drops wifi constantly, that's a job go in my book. Plus I got 100.00 off the Tab S6 with a additional 50.00 gift card.
definitely s5e because the price distance is crazy, teh most important when it comes to tab for me are the screen and the battery Aand surprisingly both has the same and crazy dffrnt price
I purchased the Tab S5e, and added a 512 gb sd card. There is an aftermarket wifi styllus that works with it, too, for less than $50. So, saved about $300. The Tab S6 is just overpriced for the value in my opinion.
There's a lot of complaints about the stability of the magnetic stand case. Could you test this, and update us on what you think of it? Many people's vids have launched complaints about the tablet falling down because of the kickstand case collapsing, and showing visual proof in their videos. I was hoping you'd touch base on this as I'm in the market to buy a new tablet, but this issue is definitely deterring me from wanting to buy the s6, that... and how reliable is the magnetic strip in the spen? Being on the backside of the tablet, I'd fear losing the spen altogether and never knowing it was gone until I went to use it. I am preferring the tab s6 so far, but being that I type a lot, I don't want a stand that falls down consistently. Are there any alternatives to keep the stand actually attached besides the flimsy magnetic strip? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
The Tab S5e is the perfect media consumption tablet for an incredible price. Wonderful display, light, compact and great speakers. The Tab S6 is a better productive and gaming choice due to better SoC and pencil. Given the big price difference it really depends on your usecase, the S6 isn't a no-brainer over the S5e.
I'm getting the tab s5e because of its significantly lower price than the tab s6. I do not need any accessories and I do not play any high demanding games so I feel the tab s5e is a better option. My brother on the other hand plays fortnite on his tablet so the tab s6 was a better option for him.
You do know that with the s5e you don't need to press the power button at the same time as holding your fingerprint against it right? All you need to do is lightly touch the sensor and when it recognises the fingerprint the tablet will turn on and unlock. I am assuming for the sound tests you turned on the Dolby processing in the options for both? As this makes them sound a lot better. No surprises on the performance difference! The s6 is not only a generation ahead of the s5e it's a tier of processor higher too. That said I've never noticed the stuttering you're talking about when swiping through the menus 🤷
Im recommanding you to buy the huawei matepad pro tablet from Huawei because it has the kirin 990 which is a very strong chipset with it's performance, the kirin 990 is also same as the snapdragon 855 chipset! It packs with 7250 Mah, 10.8 inch large screen display, 8GB ram to support the performance of the tablet, large 256GB of storage and lastly, it is now priced from $500-$500 which I think it is still good for a flagship tablet

Not all Samsung Smartphones have ultrasonic fingerprint scanners. I have a Samsung Galaxy A50 and it has an optical fingerprint scanner under the screen.

Yeah, I chose the S5e, I bought it for its quality display and speakers as I'm a heavy media user. However sometimes I do wish Samsung had offered a chipset a little quicker as sometimes stutter can be felt with the 670, a Snapdragon 730 or 835 would've been the superior fitment, it would've made the s5e a much better competitor to the likes of the Apple iPad Mini or 10.2" versions.
I've read that the snapdragon 670 is actually comparable to the 835, while being more power efficient. It's an article on the pixel 3a since it also uses the 670.
@@Darrylx33 the 670 and 835 both are built on the 10nm process, efficiency should be comparable due to the 670 being a mid-range chip this year and the 835 a flagship chip that's 2 years old. The 835 can have a clock speed of 2.45GHz vs the 670 2.00GHz, the GPU has been upgraded for the 670 though which may have an effect on performance, albeit the 835 uses 4x big cores vs the 670 which only has 2 big cores. Not to mention anything still running the 835 won't be getting an Android 10 update.
These reviews are not from a normal point of view because most people have no idea about 670 and 855 chipsets. I ask people with iPads about the a12, a13, aWhateverchips and they have no idea about what I am talking about. Which tells me that a lot of people are buying because of name and also because they are in the ecosystem already. These chipsets mean nothing to the average buyer. So these reviews are speaking to a very small amount of buyers that actually do other things besides consuming conten, emails, etc. Benchmarks, chipsets mean nothing to the average buyer.
Thanks for the comparision :) Going with the Tab S5e as I won't be playing any heavy games. Also the Tab S6 costs 845$ in India for 6GB+128GB model And S5e costs 493$ for the 4GB+64GB It's just not worth spending extra 352$ for S6 for a light to medium users.

I don't know if it's an update but now you don't need to turn on the display before using finger scanner. When the screen is black you just put your finger on that same spot and it unlocks.
The Tab S5e was not designed to function with an S pen or any stylus for that matter. Your best bet would be Tab S4 which is one hundred pounds/ dollars more than the Tab S5e. Go for the Tab S4.
Yes you can. Although you cannot use S-Pen, a generic capacitive stylus will work on the S5e. However, the lack of fine control may prove frustrating for an artist.

Seriously, sometimes reviewer is nitpicking too much just because it's not snappy like other device does. Snappy devices is just for show-off, but a device that just works and stable is rarely got the spotlight. And yeah, my S5e works fine and as to my expectation.
Once I was having a family trip and I never went to the place of destination. So as the road guide, I was using my tab S5e for the map, browsing any recreational activity, take pictures, etc. And yet the battery never gone down more than 30 percent for 8 hours of heavy use. The battery performance is amazing if you can utilize the right mode such as dark mode on every app, adaptive brightness, etc.
All and all, it all depends on how we utilize with what with have. Trust me, for someone that has a limited budget, Tab S5e will exceeds all your expectations!

Yeah cant go wrong with the Tab 5SE use it as a Backup to my Laptop in Productivity and Word Processing Tasks. Battery life is Fantastic Samsung Dex worlds great with a Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard and Content consumption is fantastic.
I bought mine on Contract but for only £18 a month you cant go wrong.
I went tab s5e. I use it for media consumption but primarily for work. It's absolutely capable using office apps, operating in a MDM environment, and I have not noticed any issues using dex mode (both on tablet and via monitor).

Try getting the s6 tablet its impossible now to purchase from a store in the uk. they have stopped making it i was going to get it but im not buy on line and taking a chance i dont need the stress. You can still get the s5e so i will get the 6g 128 memory cellular model i have the 4g 64 memory. Cellular model already had it two years great tablet. 🇬🇧👍
DeX is really cool, and pretty handy. I went for the tab s6, I think it will age better, and being a person who gets annoyed at stutters and inefficiencies I think the faster chipset would pretty much guarantee an amazing experience, it seems I made a great choice.

This is the BEST comparison video I've seen in a long time. Excellent thoroughly and thoroughly.
Good comparison but as I use the s5e for about 1 month I must say it is amazing in gaming. I play games like Fiesta run FF XV pocket edition riptide GP need for speed the room and many more. All these play perfectly fine without noticing lag or fps drop. Also about multitasking I usually use 2 applications in split screen with TH-cam vanced in a small screen and everything is smooth. I am a user with high requirements and the s5e is definitely fill them. So I can't recommend the s6 for about double price at any way except someone that use the spen a lot. My 2 cents.
G T i use s5e too, even tho i am power user too, i could notice anything that this tab is less powerful than my iphone x when everyone is talking about that crazy A11 bionic chip. I also use my tab for gaming, gaming while video recording in 2560x1600 40mbps and also for 3D editing. Cannot complain anything but the original keyboard which is way better on s6

I have the S5e and upgraded to the S6 and I'd say the gaming difference for me is like night and day. I guess it depends on what games you're playing, but for me it's a huge difference.
Siri Duffa if you use android as u should, then u would know about developer options where u can select 4x msaa and your graphics will be same as it is on tab s6. So it is not a problem for me at all and i wont have to pay a lot of money

I like the level of detail you go into..speaker quality, screen reflectivity..etc...not just in this review..these should be standard for laptops, tablets etc(wish you gave more phones the same review treatment) No one else is covering it to this level and as a tech enthusiast, these things are actually important to me when i make a purchasing decision. Also, it gives credit to the manufacturers that do put effort into these things. I like big speakers on laptops and when you took the cover off the bottom of the 2019 13 inch macbooks and showed the difference noone else showed to the same extent, I canceled my baseline order. I've been following tech reviewers for about 10 years and you seem to be my goto at the moment. well done and keep it up!
I almost went with the S6 lite,but ended up buying a Rose Gold S5e on a random Amazon Prime sale. Glad I went with an AMOLED display,no way can I go back to an LCD screen after this. Maybe a 120hz LCD display but damn do AMOLED/OLED's look good on tablets for streaming videos and movies 👌

My problem with the s6 is that there is not a place to store the s pen unless you spend the extra money on the keyboard and case. I don't understand why they didn't just make a slot like they do on the note phones.
Love the review. Nice mentioning the HDR experience and I think Samsung is on the right track, people buying a premium Android tablet these days will require premium features like that.
I actually prefer the S5e keyboard due to the smaller footprint. If pen input and touchpad is needed I'd rather go with a similar prized but far more powerful Surface GO / Pro

Two things that I would like to see are a storage speed comparison (Samsung cheaped out on the S5e storage compared to the Tab S4).
Also a WiFi test, which the performance on my S4 is quite (very) poor for an AC device. Samsung added MU-MIMO for the S6 which should definitely improve things with a capable router.
These two things make a big difference in everyday use. People look at wireless cards and assume it's just bandwidth but it's much more impactful on latency and the amount of time you spend looking at the spinny loading wheel vs what you mean to look at.
I love my S5e. No reason switch for myself.

Hey, I have an important question. Does it lag now? I have a Galaxy A70 with pretty much the same CPU, and it lags after a year of use. I really consider getting the S5e, I just don't want it to lag.

Compared to the S5e, the S4 has a faster processor, bigger battery, S-Pen, and headphone jack. The S4 only costs $50 more than the S5e (from Best Buy). Also the S5e has WiFi issues when you hold the left side. I hope this post helps someone.

Getting a tablet mainly to watch stuff, read stuff, and game. For that reason, visuals and performance extremely important to me. But price is also factor which is why im not even gonna touch S7. Gonna go with S6. The videos and colors clearly looked better on that one (s5e looked blue, cloudy, and blurry) and it wont stutter in gaming as much.

I am seeing some touch sensitivity issues with the 4G and 6G S5e.
I briefly had the S6 and felt it was heavy, especially with the keyboard case.
The S5e is almost so thin I worried about bending it. It is featherweight. I felt the S6 felt much chunkier in the brief time I tried it.
Maybe it is my imagination ;=)

I picked up the Tab S6 and the warm tint is the Natural look that for some reason comes default. Under the Display settings you can turn on Vivid to make it look cool white or saturated like the S5e or the Galaxy phones

Good Review & Comparison Mr. Tech. I'm looking to Upgrade from a G Tab A. The Tab S5e seems like a nice choice to make. However, the S6 Lite has some Features that make it a Compelling Choice as well.
With some sales lately, the tab 6 is only 100 more than the s5e. I think it is worth that for stylus alone. I only wonder why reviews for tab 6 aren't great. Most stores have the s5e near 5stars, and the tab 6 and more like 3 or 3 and half stars?

The main problem with these S tablets is that they can randomly brick on you at any time. I have the S3 and I barely used it and it bricked on me while I was watching TH-cam. It went into a constant bootloop until it died and now it doesn't turn on anymore and the repair cost from Samsung is $169.
@Robert Ratskywatsky The issue is called the black screen of death and it can definitely happen. I only had my S3 for a year and used it very lightly then it decided to brick on its own one day while running the TH-cam app. This can also happen to the S4 and S5e from what I've read.

Im my opinion the tab s6 is better because its processor is way better, if you want a laptop, buy a tab s6 and the keyboard and use the desktop mode, and it comes with s-pen the bad thing is the price of the keyboard. And for example: On tab s6 Fortnite runs at 60 fps on high and 30 fps on epic (max graphics) and on tab s5e it only runs At 30 fps on low, the tab s6 is good for desktop and gaming, and the tab s5e is for watching Netflix TH-cam etc...
@@stickmanninja318 Because Epic did not update for s5e same to Netflix. Galaxy S6 with full speed will damage the core easily. Mostly with full power dies easily. While s5e does not give full speed adrenaline, but gives smooth play.
Mostly high speed chips in my PC GTX Titans gpu etc, android they died faster. Not lasting long. If you see benchmark that have high points means they will die fast.
Apparently, the Tab S6 does use Super AMOLED instead of Dynamic AMOLED. Which is super weird.
I have a tab a 10.1 and I watched this to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything I particularly care about, I want right, unless adobe rush or lumafusion come to the tablets and perform better on the s5e or s6 then I won't notice a difference

On the s5e you don't have to push the power button for the fingerprint to work and turn on the screen it turns on soon as fingerprint is scanned just by touching the button.
excellent comparison. for stylus fans like me and visually OCD, I've made up my mind on prefering S6. for a toss around Movie and App Tab for the kids, S5e is PERFECT! @Thatshow ED BS you can use a simple Stylus it won't be anywhere near as good as the S-Pen but they do work next time do research before you say something dumb.
Reviewing both S5e and S6 before committing to either, Personally, I think the S5e is the better tablet for most people because:
one piece keyboard case design of the S5e is without the problems of the S6 keyboard case which is notorious for becoming unstuck and falling off.
Slimmer design of the S5e.
Better battery life of the S5e.
Most people including myself have no need for the S pen.
S5e keyboard keys are slightly bigger than the S6.
S5e power button fingerprint scanner eliminates an extra step compared to S6.
S5e has the same screen and audio quality as the S6.
The S5e 128gb, 6gb Ram configuration is more than enough for most people.
S6 has a way faster processor.
I'm watching this on my tab s5e the rose gold colour is very beautiful and its perfect for TH-cam or Netflix. I personally use it for my online classes ( sadly it doesn't have a s pen but I'm fine with that ) but I use it for Yt videos aswell. The speakers are amazing too ❤❤❤

The Tab S6 is such a good tablet, imo way better than the iPad they just need to work on the input lag of the sylus and the update program, cause even if they put the best hardware and software on that thing, if it doesn't receive updates after 1-2 years it's a bad deal, cause unlike phones, people don't tend to upgrade their tablets often.
what about the difference in the capacitive vs resistive displays??? any difference?? which one actually works better?

S5e does the job if primary purpose is multimedia consumption and casual gaming. S6 ofcourse has better performance as it costs much higher. I think right now android or iOS tablets can't replace laptops so I don't see much of a use of keyboard covers. If you want to ramp up the performance further then pay more and get ipad pro the best performing tablet.

I went with the Tab S6, the fingerprint sensor now works with the display off after December Security Update. Didn't care for S5e with its known wifi issue. S5e cost to much for a tablet that drops wifi constantly, that's a job go in my book.
Plus I got 100.00 off the Tab S6 with a additional 50.00 gift card.

I purchased the Tab S5e, and added a 512 gb sd card. There is an aftermarket wifi styllus that works with it, too, for less than $50. So, saved about $300. The Tab S6 is just overpriced for the value in my opinion.

There's a lot of complaints about the stability of the magnetic stand case. Could you test this, and update us on what you think of it? Many people's vids have launched complaints about the tablet falling down because of the kickstand case collapsing, and showing visual proof in their videos. I was hoping you'd touch base on this as I'm in the market to buy a new tablet, but this issue is definitely deterring me from wanting to buy the s6, that... and how reliable is the magnetic strip in the spen? Being on the backside of the tablet, I'd fear losing the spen altogether and never knowing it was gone until I went to use it. I am preferring the tab s6 so far, but being that I type a lot, I don't want a stand that falls down consistently. Are there any alternatives to keep the stand actually attached besides the flimsy magnetic strip? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
The Tab S5e is the perfect media consumption tablet for an incredible price. Wonderful display, light, compact and great speakers. The Tab S6 is a better productive and gaming choice due to better SoC and pencil. Given the big price difference it really depends on your usecase, the S6 isn't a no-brainer over the S5e.
If just for reading pdf books, videos, youtube netflix, s5e is already more than enough right guys?

I'm getting the tab s5e because of its significantly lower price than the tab s6. I do not need any accessories and I do not play any high demanding games so I feel the tab s5e is a better option. My brother on the other hand plays fortnite on his tablet so the tab s6 was a better option for him.
You do know that with the s5e you don't need to press the power button at the same time as holding your fingerprint against it right? All you need to do is lightly touch the sensor and when it recognises the fingerprint the tablet will turn on and unlock.
I am assuming for the sound tests you turned on the Dolby processing in the options for both? As this makes them sound a lot better.
No surprises on the performance difference! The s6 is not only a generation ahead of the s5e it's a tier of processor higher too. That said I've never noticed the stuttering you're talking about when swiping through the menus 🤷

Absolutely nobody is asking this question and it's driving me nuts. I already have the S5e and the only thing that I would change is the keyboard i.e Track pad.
Not all Samsung Smartphones have ultrasonic fingerprint scanners. I have a Samsung Galaxy A50 and it has an optical fingerprint scanner under the screen.
I'm debating between these 2, mainly for streaming xCloud, and probably watching videos. that's it.

Yeah, I chose the S5e, I bought it for its quality display and speakers as I'm a heavy media user.
However sometimes I do wish Samsung had offered a chipset a little quicker as sometimes stutter can be felt with the 670, a Snapdragon 730 or 835 would've been the superior fitment, it would've made the s5e a much better competitor to the likes of the Apple iPad Mini or 10.2" versions.
I've read that the snapdragon 670 is actually comparable to the 835, while being more power efficient.
It's an article on the pixel 3a since it also uses the 670.
@@Darrylx33 the 670 and 835 both are built on the 10nm process, efficiency should be comparable due to the 670 being a mid-range chip this year and the 835 a flagship chip that's 2 years old.
The 835 can have a clock speed of 2.45GHz vs the 670 2.00GHz, the GPU has been upgraded for the 670 though which may have an effect on performance, albeit the 835 uses 4x big cores vs the 670 which only has 2 big cores.
Not to mention anything still running the 835 won't be getting an Android 10 update.
These reviews are not from a normal point of view because most people have no idea about 670 and 855 chipsets. I ask people with iPads about the a12, a13, aWhateverchips and they have no idea about what I am talking about. Which tells me that a lot of people are buying because of name and also because they are in the ecosystem already. These chipsets mean nothing to the average buyer. So these reviews are speaking to a very small amount of buyers that actually do other things besides consuming conten, emails, etc. Benchmarks, chipsets mean nothing to the average buyer.

Going with the Tab S5e as I won't be playing any heavy games.

It's just not worth spending extra 352$ for S6 for a light to medium users.

No. The keyboard from the Tab S6 was specifically designed to support the functionalities on the Tab S6. The keyboard won't work for any tablet.

I don't know if it's an update but now you don't need to turn on the display before using finger scanner. When the screen is black you just put your finger on that same spot and it unlocks.
The S6 is 50%-60% more expensive though...

The Tab S5e was not designed to function with an S pen or any stylus for that matter. Your best bet would be Tab S4 which is one hundred pounds/ dollars more than the Tab S5e. Go for the Tab S4.
Yes you can. Although you cannot use S-Pen, a generic capacitive stylus will work on the S5e. However, the lack of fine control may prove frustrating for an artist.
