      Just a heads up, the Myers-Briggs test is essentially a modern version of horoscopes.
      Their only benefit is that they get you thinking about “people are different”, but that’s not how they portray it.
      The actual letter combinations they give you mean absolute squat, very unreliable (many get wildly different results on different occasions) and there is no scientific backing to it.

    Stunned if there are 1000 professional comics on earth? Joe obviously forgets that less than 5% of the population on earth is American. There are probably around 50 full-time professional comics in the nordic countries alone. Add Germany, Uk, and France and the total number is at least 200. There are definitely some totalitarian states without "real" professional comics, but the total number on earth is above 1000 for sure

      You think there's currently 1000 comics that sell out theatres and arenas? No, there's not... there's 1000+ headliners ariund the world, but not that many that can sell out major venues and make a true comfortable living out of stand up.

    • @ujmm
      @ujmm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yamahakid450f I Work in the business. It's still above 1000 for sure even by those standards. It sounds like a lot., but there exist many people you haven't heard about that can easily get a 10.000 audience on 3 days' notice. Headliners alone were probably around 10.000. It's possible that Joe meant 1000. Standup comics that got known through standup and never took longer breaks/switched from stand-up to doing other comedy-related stuff. But he doesn't say so. But it wouldn't surprise me if we still could get 1000 by that standard also. I have dealt with many stand-up comics that are extremely famous in just 1 country.

      really the luck was the UFC becoming the giant it is today - he joined because he loved mma not because he knew it would skyrocket. then it blew up to all fight fans -- then dana white had the guts to push it through the pandemic and it was the only sport on air for nearly 2 yrs before other sports copied dana. but before then all the rogan fans had been listening to his podcast and all the fascinating guests for 1000s of hours

      My greater point is that Rogan's level of success does not match his talent or skill. There were a lot of factors that contributed to his success that had nothing to do with what he brings to the table, regardless of how hard he may have worked. There are plenty of hard working people who have more talent than he does who are nowhere near as successful as he is.

      EVERYONE gets a shot at "luck"; very FEW are prepared for it. You're perpetuating the myth of 'if only' --that everyone could be anything with just some good fortune. false.

      @@dougd878 Not everyone gets a shot at luck. If you're a white male in America, you definitely have a much better chance at getting lucky, and thereby achieving success way beyond your talents, than most other people.

    Here’s proof that podcasters are in danger of becoming an elite group of wankers. So let’s get something straight. Your fame - much like the rock and roll legends of the flower power era - has little to do with greatness and is more about timing. Hopefully the podcasting fad will fade away so that we can be rid of having to listen to this touchy feely crap between two wanna be heroes who - when it comes down to it - don’t really give a shit like they once used to because the lure of the dollar ultimately corrupted them. Bring on the night.
