    It's nice to see someone warm the saw up properly before screaming it in the timber, it's not just because it's new but to avoid a cold seizure at any time in the saws life.

    • @CornucopiaFarmstead

      I couldn’t agree more. When maintaining equipment I see a lot of folks not keeping the equipment clean or even orderly. When giving equipment a once over before use you can at least have a better chance of spotting a potential problem. Warming machines that operate hydraulics also need extended time for that system to move up to temp too. Having warm oil v/s cold oil in cold lines and or cylinders can also cause problems etc etc. cold seizing is common just like warm or hot gaps cause problems too. Thanks for the comment and watching. We aren’t pro’s with any of this but are just trying to share our experiences and the knowledge we learn. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

      Thank you so much for the heart felt wishes. Not a day goes by where we don't think of our flock. Yes they were animals that provide, we provided them a home safety and nourishment and they provided for us along with many other families. It is truly unfortunate what happened but life happens. Thank you.
      For the 872 it is the saw that I use most these days, it and the 841. Ours are still unmodified and will likely stay that way. On the 872 I have kept a 24 inch bar on it for a while now and it handles both rounding and felling very well. We are very pleased with its performance reliability looks and value. It is hard to beat those combinations in my opinion. Thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing! Stay safe and be well.

      Thanks so much for the kind words and considerations. I think that when people shop at a store for food or clothing, items and products become lost in translation as to how they are produced. Be it an egg or even a cotton shirt. So many hands or machinery are used but as a whole we take forgranted they are simply purchased rather than understanding many complex actions are made for that product to make it to a shelf. We have a very small farm that at any given time has Mel and myself along with 1 or all of our 4 kids helping. When you wake up that day and all of your chickens(several bakers dozen) are just gone, or all of your corn was toppled over(happens from time to time), things just happen and that is just life. It is hard, we have two choices. Continue or not. The thoughts and recovery take time to compartmentalize and then you have a better direction again. We are close to a year since and haven't started another flock. That's farming and that's life. We have become better but still feel the pain and will eventually bring another flock home, just not right now. Thanks so much again and thanks for commenting and subscribing. All the best, Ric and Mel

      The tools are convenient for sure, some of which aren't standard with oem saws, a scwrench comes with almost all two strokes along with a carb adjustment screwdriver but that's about it. For entry price these saws are great for sure. We have been more than satisfied with all of ours, if the blow up at least we don't have a lot invested in them compared to the oem of the same size. For the money in my opinion they are well worth it! Thanks for commenting, Ric

      Thanks so much Joe! And it does seem we missed replying to your comments, which happens from time to time. Like all of these vids we do put them up and share them for a reason and unfortunately some of them are just hard to even share, this being one of them. We do have to make them for sponsorship reason from time to time and this was sorta one of them that just happened to be right when the killing happened which took all the joy out of sharing.
      But back on your comments. People often don't realize where there food comes from and seldom realize what it takes when you don't have mass produced products, this is more or less how things come to be. Chickens are and multiple visit animal every day. You have to be very respectful to them but also they need lots of attention unlike most other animals. With this flock we raised them from about 1 to 2 days after they were hatched. Yes we were very close to them but also they were work that rewarded you. We never intended an harvesting these birds after they stopped laying but were simply going to let them roam completely free like a retired animal should, roam free. This is mostly why it was very hard when they were all taken in the blink of an eye. Very tough. But like anything else, if you are going to have it you should be prepared to lose it. Hard either way but such is life.
      We Apologize for the delayed response, it happens unfortunately!

    Thats a real good looking saw Ric, and your right Neotech bundles it up way better than any other brand I've ever dealt with.
    Also I appreciate how you went completely over the saw with your own inspection. You completely did what I'd never considered before. Like lubricating the chain tightening memechanism. Makes perfect sense to do this. An extra 10 or 15 minutes really prolongs the use/life of the equipment. Sorry about your storm damage and the chickens. May God Bless you in 2022 my friend.

      Good morning Dean! Happy new years bud! Thank you for the kind words. I know WV can have some pretty severe weather from time to time. Our poor trees and infrastructure here in GA just gets our tails handed to us when a bad one comes! We spent almost 3 days just taking care of the chickens, if your gonna have it , you better be able to lose it no matter how difficult it is brother.
      We will persevere and will recover!
      We try and look over each piece of equipment pretty good,I think it makes it much easier to repair but also understand that item. And a positive is you can go ahead and repair or clean some shoddy work before you get started! I guess that's why I like dipping in the egg wash twice? But yes it does help and in the long run will save you time, we have received 3 packages from Neo-tec and all 3 have been in great shape! Really impressed on that! I found an issue with the bar adjuster and will develop a solution and make a vid for Neo-tec to show them and another with the oil port on the bar and will do the same with that too. All of which should improve the functions of each. I think they will make improvements very easily and so far really care about customer response. Seem to be a great company!
      It's always great catching up with you Dean, beware with this spring weather and stay healthy safe this new year my friend! Thank you for the warm wishes from me and Mel!

      Thanks so much for the kind words. I think these saws are great, actually better than most if not all the other clone saws. They do take more time to have the different models com out but there is a reason for that, they want better quality and better performance. I say this simply because of the discussions we have had with them personally. Our intention isn't to sell saws for them, rather to show people our experience and frankly my honest opinion. No I'm not a logger and don't claim to be. I am very experienced with most all things internal combustion but also have much experience tuning. We take the time to care and maintain all of our equipment, most is not modified but also quality fluids are used in everything. We don't have to worry about ever cleaning a carb or having any poor fluid used at all. With proper tuning along with care and quality fluids, most equipment will run well. This is what one must do to see the full benefit of a good piece of equipment. For the 892, it is a great and very powerful saw. I hope you enjoy it!

    All of the 660 clones suffer from an anemic oil pump and junk chain adjuster, like my Holzfforma G660 PRO. Farmertec makes a high output pump ($22) with 1.4mm piston travel (instead of the 0.9mm installed) that's necessary on bars longer than 24". I ordered the Hyway chain adjuster that's well machined grade 5 steel ($19). Hint: It's not the small bar oil inlet that's at fault. The Stihl MS660 &MS661 all had the same anemic oil pump, which they too designed a high output for. We just bought a Stihl design problem in these clones. China seems to mimmic quite well; even when copying flaws. The chain adjuster is just a Mickey Mouse wannabe.

      Interesting information! I have found on the newer clones they have improved both the oil pump and the chain adjuster. For the pump I am not totally sure what they changed but have noticed they do oil much better and the chain adjuster does look to be harder steel and better all the way around. The use of better ignition and other higher quality components have really improved the saws on many fronts. Thanks for commenting and I apologize for just now seeing this comment!

      My Holz 660 hasn’t been a great saw. The two gears on the chain tensioner are too far apart so after about 12 uses it will no longer adjust the bar even will OEM parts.
      The carb never worked right, the oiler wasn’t machined smooth on the sealing surface so it leaked oil everywhere from under the cover, the oval carb tube was smashed in there, the fuse cap never sealed.
      The 660 was purchased about a year ago.
      I built a Neo 372 that was way better, only the oiler wasn’t working and that could be my fault since it was packed in cosmoline I had to fully rebuild it.

    • @CornucopiaFarmstead
      @CornucopiaFarmstead  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @White000Crow ya know any purchase that has failure involved just plain hurts, especially when considering factors are made. We have several blue saws , all of which we don’t use any at all really, mostly because they use more fuel, the chain adjustments are always a hassle. Not saying Neotec doesn’t have issues, but, they don’t have what we have with our others saws. The fuel savings alone is worth it, the time savings is worth it, that pretty much sums it up I guess. But that’s ok, the proverbial shit will hit the fan and then we will clean it off and adjust. Enjoy your 872, it is one of my most used saws and wears many hats when cutting. • @CornucopiaFarmstead
      @CornucopiaFarmstead  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey bud. Over all my complaints stem from saws from basically 2 to almost 3 years ago. I stopped with the blue when I purchased a 466 from a dealer. Now this saw did run and ran well. However it was a new saw and was damaged in the packaging so bad they replaced the saw and did insist I keep the old saw to make amends which I did. Of all the saws we have purchased from them both from China and from the dealers on the states. I believe only 1 was double boxed and they only had 1 layer of bubble wrap. Multiple saws the clutch cover was broke in the typical place. The saws in general also are a great value but compared to what Neo-tec has to offer, again, my opinion only, I believe Neo-tec does it better along with the quality fit and finish are better. Having said that neither are free of issues but also neither are a completely in house built saw. They are, just like many of the non-brand manufacturers from overseas, built by sourcing parts from supply houses that offer rebuild or repair parts. I can say that in speaking with the owner or Neo-tec they do strive to not only offer a great value but they want to continue with improving the end product while also bring out new technologies as they are being developed. All of the clone equipment is based off of expired patents and are totally legal world wide which is something I believe people don't understand why they off the clones the way they do. Having said this improvements are made that will drift from the original design. Point in case is with the Farmmac line. In the case of the 660 clone alone it has long been know the bar adjuster seems to be useless. The new design is not original clone but is a new type developed by Neo-tec and functions as well as the original Stihl adjuster but is made by Neo-tec. I can tell you when we speak with the owner directly he will make changes as quickly as possible even while production is happening. They truly do want to make a great product and provide and outstanding value. From our experience with the blue saws, they were not as willing, not that they aren't now but when we used them regularly and were trying to get a response from them, it was rare and was difficult and honestly didn't have anything accomplished. They are good and sometimes great, but, if you you the type to know when to do the right thing most anything can be great.
      I hope this clarifies my comments on the saws!
      Thanks for commenting 👍 and hopefully subscribing!
      All the best, Ric.

    It looks to me like NeoTec is coming out swinging. I’m not sure if they are competitors of farmertec or if they are somehow intertwined but if they are their own entity farmertec is going to have to step up their game. NeoTec is a completely different company from Farmertec and fierce competitors of each other. They are both in China but in seperate cities far apart which is probably best I suppose. The fact they arent making all similar saws I think shows where and how Neo-tec wants to set itself apart too. We have discussed earlier this year about how the 2 compare to each other, Neo-tec very much wants to exceed quality and performance over Farmertec, that is certain. They just by what you see here already make a shipment better in my opinion. The performance in my opinion I believe is better also. Having said all of that they are both a great value and we have invested on this last saw on our own and well worth it too. They need to improve the bar adjuster and really that is the only complaint I have on the saw! If you are looking for the ns892 these is a link above, on amazon also. I think the other vids have links too? At any rate best of luck with your decision it can be tough! Thanks for commenting 👍and subscribing! Ric

      @@CornucopiaFarmstead Thanks for that explanation that NeoTec and FarmerTec are two different companies. It's confusing to a new customer unfamiliar with the market. I splurged this summer and bought a 35" x 20' sawmill. But I don't have a chainsaw for bigger wood. Just a Stihl MS261CM and an MS180. The sawmill set me back a lot of money so having the option of a big saw at these prices is certainly a good thing.

I have a could old huskys that have the same colors and the still have great color left in them. For the saw though we cant complain,it works really well and the value is outstanding, I think once they have a larger line up we will start to see alot more versatility in what they have. Neo-tec have mentioned several other types of equipment that isn't a chainsaw so we are waiting to see when these become available, hopefully we will still be able to review them and maybe be able to put it through its paces? Not hearing them and walking near the habitat, things like you customarily would have, they are just constant reminders. We aren't getting eggs? Why not? Oh, never mind, it will be tough for a while but, such is life? As for the laying consider these things. Habitat first and foremost, it must be private and very low natural stimulus. They need very few things to concentrate on. It is ok the work with them when they are hungry and thirsty. Talk to them in chicken sounds, I know that sounds funny but consider that. Watering and retrieving eggs at night is the best time when they are in roost, try to hide the eggs when you retrieve them as they don't like you taking them. Feeding during the day is fine consider hen layer feed and natural grasses. If you can start a work factory for them they will appreciate that also. Try and interact with them very slowly but have a purpose and they will be less nervous and will be more likely to produce eggs for you. As far as the habitat it really need to be in a secluded quiet location, this is what we have found works best. For the actual laying area have your nesting boxes secluded and dark, the prefer privacy and darkness they prefer! Our habitat is behind our barn and borders a creek and tree line. It is quiet and secluded from normal busy work. They knew we would come early am and late pm for chores, ant other time they would be spooked and a few wouldn't lay because they are so moody? Lol loosing all 50 is just heart breaking and financially, it is just devastating.
      As for the saw I am going to modify the original part and see what I can come up with or possibly just order the oem part? I plan on making a vid for Neo-tec on a couple issues and hopefully they can address it from here. They watch all of the vids people make and are very responsive to suggestions. I think as they grow they will have greater availability, I know they were completely out of stock for several months and just recently have started shipping again. I think one could find a way to drop ship to the US then ship again to another country I suppose? We have several farmertec saws and they work well but do have more flaws than the Neo-tec, having said that, they do work well mind you. If I could choose and they were side by side it would be the Neo-tec for two reasons, quality and overall value. It is enough of a difference for me! I'll mention to Neo-tec about UK and get back with you on that. Consider the Neo-tec Facebook group, they follow that and you can respond through whatsapp which is how we communicate with them too.

      So my chickens are now laying, well 8 out of the 10 are. I know some dominance takes place when a rooster isnt there. I cant have a rooster because of the residential build up. I talk to mine and almost all of them allow me to pick them up and stroke them. Theyve grown up from about 13 weeks with me so have learnt to trust me. They have a run that they are confined to and dont often come out through the winter. The summer i do let them out but they dont always come back before its almost lights out and i dont live with the chickens or should i say live on the site of the chickens. But they are laying ok now, even in these winter months. Egg retrieval is done later on in the day when i think theyve all done laying. With a bribe of bread of course 😁
      Now the saw lmao ill keep a keen eye out for what your doing with your Neotec saws. If they are available in the UK i would purchase one myself. My G660 has been great, cuts great and mills great but just some niggley problems like that chain adjuster really spoils the full saw. I put a High Output oiler on mine too, that was much better for the saw. I dont even know the price of Neotec saws so ive not seen the comparison in that regard. But they sure do look better just by the looks. I too hate my full wrap handle too, so would looks to replace that with just a standard handle.
      Ill check their facebook group out and see what theyre about and also check what other products will be coming to the market.

Thanks so much for the prayers, we are just caretakers of everything we have and don't take kindly to anything that takes what they don't earn or work for , human or animals. All of those chickens went to compost as we had no way of knowing if what killed them was rabid or not so they all went to wast unfortunately. We hate losing something like that,no different than a groundhog nibbling on a fruit and leaving it for another which I'm sure you know is common also. We depend on these fruits of labor and it is very hard when we have even a small loss much less a large one! But for those times we can level the playing field, it makes it a little easier to take the loss!

      So have had the saw just over a week. Haven't put it in any wood yet but in addition to what I said above the oil pump is set permanently on max and at first I couldn't even see the adjustment screw because the access hole had flashing from casting covering it. Neo-tech told me there was no need to adjust it. I don't agree. Also there answer to me about the bar nuts sloppy on the studs was how did I measure it. Most guys with any mechanical aptitude can tell if a nut feels sloppy on a thread. So am working on measuring the threads. I believe these will strip out with very little use. But other than that seems like a good runner we will see. Are the pumps on your saws adjustable? Another thing I thought strange is I have to press the decompression every time I pull the starter rope, I didn't think that was normal.

I think my Ft saws are 3/4 turn and all my Husky along with Stihl saws are all 1/2 turn oilers, some have them and some don't . The bar studs aren't sloppy on ours but it is possible that some components were misused, that does happen. I. Not sure what the thread pitch is but gif I had to guess I would say 8x1.25, but could be wrong (on the 892 that is). On all 3 of the Neo-tec saws we have the bars have been off numerous times for various cleaning reasons and they have been tightened many many times with no issue at all. At the end of the day in my opinion, as long as they stand by and support the product, that is what matters to me. I hope they will do the same for everyone and if you have an issue that needs to be corrected they will do so. We are trying to help Neo-tec with developing this equipment and also bring attention to improvements for future equipment. Yes they did have some upgraded components on some of there equipment. The carb upgrade was a nice touch and they cylinder /piston upgrades are a nice upgrade too. All of which aren't an industry standards I guess you could say. They are nice upgrades which I believe everyone needs to consider standard equipment but also these are cost savings which many in the industry use. It all comes down to the end use of the equipment, those upgrades are worth while in a commercial setting but in a homeowners use where the saw isn't used as much the worries aren't near as bad. Are they worth it, yes, totally needed on a saw used 10 times a year? At the end of the day big saws need lots of maintenance it is pick your poison I suppose! I'm sure that 288 will be a nice saw and we have several FT saws and only wish Neo-tec had as extensive of a line up, but I hear they are building a nice fleet to come! Thanks for the kind words!

I’ve been gonna order one of these “clone” saws for a few years and when I saw the pro version with its upgrades and new color scheme I pulled the trigger. I own 4 Stihls some of which are 30 years old but just couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on a 660 for the amount I think I’ll use it. I looked at the Neotec quite a bit also and did prefer it over the blue saws.

      @@cowcatcher9186 hey bud! It is a long wait for sure but like you mentioned, worth it! It is hard to justify spending over or even close to 1 thousand dollars on a tool, especially if it can be destroyed in an instant and isn't used that often. I help manage a small 300 acre tree nursery and do alot of side tree work too. When lightly trained people run equipment be it saws or tractors, damage is easily felt by those who have to absorb the costs. This is where lower priced options are really needed. It makes for a softer blow but also still let's the jobs get done. FT has done a good job just as Neo-tec and they both are striving to make improvements every day. I like the improvements they have made and know more are coming as you can see. At the end of the day running any 90+cc saw gets the job done quick! I think we have 4 or 5 90's, several 70's and multiple smaller cc saws. Probably like you have done. Once they start to get tired you purchase a backup for the backup? That's how it works for us. I repair alot of saws and end up with some project saws on trade alot too. Makes it easy to have spare parts I suppose. If you are like me you always know someone who needs help or maybe doesn't have equipment and it is easier to give someone a deal and help them out when you aren't short on equipment.
      At any rate, I'm sure you'll enjoy the new saw and touch base with me and let me know how it runs with the new upgrades! All the best and thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing!

As for relationship between the 2 companies, they are no way related or even share information or techniques. Neo-tec has a facility in a different region of China and they are a direct competitor to FT. I have spoken with Neo-tec many times on not just quality but also on fulfillment along with many other aspects that seem to fall to the way side by similar makers. They do strive for high quality products and in my opinion have better success. Now that isn't to say they will jot have fault, but in my opinion yes the quality is much better. Good morning! Yes I believe they make great products. I believe they offer a great value and can tell you our saws that we have haven't had any failures . That doesn't mean they haven't or are free of problems or malfunctions but they haven't been rendered useless. Having said all of that on the ns892 the worst thing about this saw is the weak bar tensioner, which is common with all the clone versions of this saw. The f660 which is the Farmmac version doesn't have the same problem and has upgraded parts but that is how they advertise it too. Regardless of this if I only had the ns892 it does a fine job just not as fast and maybe just a touch less power than the f660. I think all the clone saws are great values you just have to have the expectation they are a clone and they aren't built to the same standard of the OEM'S. They typically will have nicks or scratches maybe even misalignment of the plastic, this is normal for them. If you look at the closeups in the vids we make of them when we purposely vid them slowly you can see these things. That's what you must expect with them. But I believe if you care for them like you should and like anything else you don't abuse them they last a long time, like they should. That's my homes opinion, hope this helps! As for the Neo-tec, yes most all of the saws de-comps can be a problem from time to time. I'm sure you can contact Neo-tec and they will send you another valve at no cost to you, this is pretty common on most aftermarket saws. With the new Huskys or Stihls, after running the Neo-tecs, even if I had the money I would be hard pressed to purchase one of the others. I've tried many many saws over the years. When it comes down to getting the work done, they are very close to the name brand units, so close I am not likely to spend more money for something that is only going to be slightly better at achieving what I want to get done. It isn't a tough decision for me lol....
      As for the 070, that is truly a monster of saw, definitely need the decomp! Don't tear that shoulder up! That is a great running saw and very similar to a diesel tractor as far as speed but still gets the job done!

      Hello Darryl. They have 3 types of bars. 2 are laminated and one is milled with no lamination at all. The standard laminated stainless bar isn't a bad bar and I would compare to an aftermarket bar such as Archer or Forester. I mostly use Archer and Forester bars on every saw we have. We do use some Sujihara lite weight bars too. As for the Stihl Husky Poulan and Farmertec bars,none of them are high-end or heavy duty bars. That being said I cannot compare them to the higher end bars. I can say the stainless milled bar is very good quality and appears to have consistent mills along with thickness. I have found the oil ports seem to be on the small side and could be larger for better flow. I did bring this to Neo-tec's attention with a recommendation the hole size be increased. Deflection and heat treating seem to be very good as it does not have a tendency to keep a bend of torqued for a period of time. For the laminated bars I would say they are typical entry level bars but also the machine quality along with welds are of good quality. For the bars with replaceable tip I do believe they are better quality than the Farmertec replaceable tip bars, both quality and consistency of the build in the tip between the 2 bar tips. In closing Stihl does have a high end product but I can't say it is worth the price, I can say I won't pay that price when a comparable product for lesser cost is available. I hope this helps!

    I purchased an ns892. It runs great but I cannot believe how hard it is to pull. I'm not a small guy either. Doesn't make a difference if I use the decompression valve. Are they all like this? Maybe the decompression valve is faulty? I never had a saw so hard to pull. Even my old Homelite 100cc was easier.

    • @CornucopiaFarmstead
      @CornucopiaFarmstead  ปีที่แล้ว

      In short yes to all your questions. Yes the decomp could be faulty, if you hear air coming out as the engine rotates then likely the decomp is working, if you don't hear it likely not. Yes they are all difficult to pull relatively speaking. All the cline saws I have are very similar in pulling. Pulling an 070 or an 881 will show how hard it is to start a power saw. Both of them require more effort and more speed to accomplish the sane thing as a 660 clone. If anything the decomp could be faulty but most likely it is acting normal during starting. Another possibility is that the compression is outstanding with the unit too.

      Yep, no problem. I liken the 90+ cc units to old school diesel tech. They have a minimum rotation speed to facilitate ignition. If it isn't met then ignition parameters aren't met. It is a clone saw but not all components are cloned exactly. I know we have the f660 which is an even closer replica than the ns892, with that saw the ignition and the flywheel are almost exact with the oem stihl in every way, almost that is. @@joehertel8846 hey Joe, happy new years and thanks for the kind words. Like you said, maybe something good will come of it, thank you.
      As for the Jonny it could be a couple of things. I would start by checking for air leaks in where the carb seats on the cylinder and also check the fuel lines for any small cracks or holes. A low idle stumble can easily come from a small air leak. However if while running at "WOT" you have no abnormal running issues that would lead me to believe it is a very small leak. A larger leak would cause a dramatic increase of air, it would make the engine very hard to run at all in any rpm. Sounds like a small leak to me. Check the carb seating screws/nuts/bolts, then again fuel/impulse/fuel filter and lines. If all of that is fine and well consider rebuilding the carb and you may find some small debris within the carb that could also be the problem too. You basically want to make sure it is sealed tight to eliminate air leaks. You could also spray brake parts cleaner or starting fluid around sealed areas while the saw is running. If it surges when you spray then you will know it is an air leak and then just find it. Hope this helps! We need to make a vid of one of our bucket saws to show all the small headaches that can happen! As for the metal I would say yes it is magnesium. This new 892 is pretty impressive, Melissa used it also and remarked on the torque,very strong saw. It is heavier than the stihl and farmertec. Seems like it may have some mechanical torque built in and that could be the difference. Regardless it has moved itself to primary rounding saw. Put a new chain on it and it will be ready to cut again!

    • @CornucopiaFarmstead
      @CornucopiaFarmstead  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Actually we have several blue saws also too. I believe the Neotec has an edge on them with overall fit and finish, to say all of the saw heads or other equipment they make is far better would be a stretch for sure. Do I think they are better, yes. The quality of materials is the biggest difference I believe. In talks we have had with the people who are actually responsible for building and design it revealed what the clone makers do. They use expired patents but they are still limited in how close they can make the clone. That is to say they, frankly none of the clones are exact clones of the equipment they are copying. Though the parts will interchange they aren’t the same as oem. I know this as the owners of Neotec have explained what they can and can’t do when reverse engineering equipment. Having said all of this, Neotec and Farmertec have in the past worked together in supplying parts to one another, they no longer do that and I can only say quality is the reason why. The cost is low on these machines because the quality of metals isn’t the same and yes you could say it isn’t as high of quality on that end but is still as best quality you can have for the cost. I believe the oems have better tolerances for sure, maybe the best materials overall but it comes at a great cost. If a person wants to modify this is a great way but likely not the best thing to do. I ran a saw for a week at over 1000 rpm higher than it should have, almost 14k rpm. I blew it up, I didn’t want to but man that saw would run. The tolerances were only slightly to loose and it deflected enough that it caught the side of the case shaved enough aluminum and then grenaned the crank and rod. Great running saw before that happened, lots and lots of power for a little saw and sometimes you just run a little saw. Anyway, I hope this helps, this is what I consider when running equipment. We maintain our equipment very well, none are modified and other than the 1 , we have had little issues at all with any of our equipment.

Lessons learned from supply chain issues is how we got where we did, we didn’t want to pay exorbitant prices and be left out in the cold. Given the climate that is brewing, do what you need or can do to stay and be prepared. Tariffs are coming back so supplying countries will begin to penalize the US again. Here we go again!

      25/1 is 5.2 Oz per gallon, 40/1 is 3.2 Oz per gallon, 50/1 is 2.6 Oz per gallon. We Use 25/1 breaking equipment in, then either use 40 or 50/1 depending on ambient temperature and or rpm range used while running equipment. High rpm usage is 40/1, full range usage is 50/1. The thinking behind it is constant high rpm usage is simply more oil for lubrication because of sustained high rpm(more long term heat), full range the equipment has less heat and typically runs cooler. Sparkplug heat ranges typically only change for ambient temps, low ambient temps we run hotter plugs, higher ambient temps we run cooler plugs. We also run vp racing full synthetic two cycle oil. Hey bud, sorry for the delay, been very busy around here and haven't even touched our youtube in over a year. But to answer your question the 892 is still running stong and well. We don't use it as aoften as some of the other as we use them on an application basis. Recently(2-3 weeks ago) we were cutting so hickory and pulled the ns892 out. I was using a g5800 ft as the tree was only about 10" and thought it would be fine. It was simply taking to long to cut the hard hickory. Knowing the power of the 5800 I just went to the 892 and made quick work of the cuts as it was alot of rounding/bucking and that hickory is relentlessly hard to cut through. The 892 was probably overkill for that tree but knowing the bark is just as hard as the wood itself I didn't want to waste any more time or fuel/bar oil. Between the farmmac 892 and the neotec 892 you can't go wrong with either if you have a use for them. They make great power and torque but are heavy and big, if you have a use for them and don't want to waste time and consumables, go with the 892 or some version of it, they will flat get the job done! Again sorry for the delay and thanks for commenting. Ric

      As for Neo-tec sometimes they will send us a saw or such and in some cases we will just purchase them. They do not pay us to make a video but rather we make videos on all we have time to do so. Like with Branson we make and share vids of it and have zero support from Branson even though I talk to some of the movers and shakers there about both the tractors and improvements or considerations that I think should be made. A quick way to tell which equipment is sent to is is if you see it is sponsored or is mentioned it is sponsored then it is easier to know, but those where you don't see a banner that says "sponsored " then it is something we have just purchased. We don't mind making them but we do give our honest opinion and every manufacturer knows this of us. We will not misrepresent anything we use which the manufacturer knows this also. Has anyone actually checked the claimed specs on these machines 🤔

      I have actually never checked the claimed specs , but I have never checked the claimed specs of any of them for that matter. The performance has been as expected, sometimes even better than that.

    I think im going to return the NS 8105 for the 660 clone. That thing I got is so fucking big I can barley lift it. Unless you wanna trade for that ns892? I haven't even put gas in the one I got. Haven't even took it outside. Its just impractical for small people like me.

    • @CornucopiaFarmstead
      @CornucopiaFarmstead  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It definitely has its place. The 660 revs higher and faster for sure and is less to carry around. With a big bar both are heavy, but the 660 is more practical than the 070 clone in almost all scenarios for sure. Good luck with your decision but you may still want to hang on to the 105, it is a tractor and does cut very well through big wood compared to all else. The weight of it alone let's the saw do the work, you are simply the driver!

    With All these saws you have you should really learn how to port saws. Hell even blind porting gives results
    You can literally make that saw TWICE as fast with a little dabbling

      ! I have considered it many time but that is also something we don't have that much of, time. One of these days I'll take the plunge and carve away at some aluminum and find some good numbers? I am interested in learning the basics but also it would be nice to change both the power and torque curves around to have a more rounded running saw! Thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing! Maybe one day I'll take the plunge!

    Ill stick with my Stihl there is a reason why they copy the best, my saws dont quit ever no substandard parts in a Stihl.

    • @CornucopiaFarmstead
      @CornucopiaFarmstead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can understand that completely! I was in a place where I needed a larger saw and honestly had looked at the stihl ms660 but just couldn't afford to spend the money new or used to get in to one. With the little amount I would use the saw and the relatively little amount I could get in to a clone saw to get the same amount of work done, this is why I went this direction. It gets the job done and even though they do have some flaws, like other equipment with care we haven't had any problems with any that we have. That isn't to say we never will bit with anything problems can happen either from manufacturing or fault of the user. Thanks for commenting 👍 and subscribing, Ric

    I hate to hear about your animals. The saw has plenty of power, so if they can get the oiler corrected, it should be a winner.

      The loss of our birds is devastating, it is a big financial loss but as you know they are like family members too, everything was just taken away in an instant, really sad and difficult.
      For the oiler I am going to switch it out with another oiler and or see if there is a mechanical defect I can find. The saw works great other than a couple of things but hopefully Neo-tec can get the bugs worked out. They are a growing new company and have a great inexpensive product! Thanks for watching Tony, it's awesome to have y'all watching! We got Tony in the house!!! Woohoo!!!!!!

      @@Casey6996 unfortunately here crime is high and accountability is low. I personally have a "diverse" background which helps, a visual que helps also. Most in this country understand it is a right to bare arms and those also understand too when they see a firearm. For many decades that I have been able to see, firearms are part of the culture here. In most places they are welcome, but not all. It does give peace of mind, but also helps to provide another blanket of insurance. All the best and thanks for commenting!

    Those saws just aren’t worth it in the long run at least with my experience, longevity is crap , after setting for a few weeks good luck starting , the power head for a 70 cc feels like a 50 or lower cc , I just said to hell with it and spent the money on a stihl , never a problem cranking or anything for that matter , just my ole 2 cents
