I bought my G660 a couple years ago. Absolutely love it. I love the fact that OEM parts fit very well on it. I do say that it loves the fuel. Me and my son cut up 35 full cords of wood with it this year. I have a 24” bar in mine.
Man, such an unfair comparison lol but as for that gas cap, if you look inside the fuel tank, on the side should be a slot you insert the ball on the end of the cap into, pull all the way up and it should lock in place, thus holding the cap.

I am debating a clone saw. I bought some legit old Stihls from a local guy who freshens and resells used saws, but he does occasionally throws out a clone with some mods, but they are more pricey at $750. But really like my 361 and am hoping to find a good used 661
@@LandFather New is about 1700 at our local farm store. Lightly used i see asks as high as 1500 but most sell around 1000 to 1300. I have moved from sawmilling to doing tree removals. I would use a 660 for stumping mostly and cutting up trunk sections. Yard maples get up to 60+ inches around here at the base and are pretty common at that size. I use a 72cc 038 mag right now with a 30" bar slinging full skip chain, but its all that saw wants stumping big wood.
@@IndependenceIron for less than half the price of a good used one it might be worth a look. Hard to know how it will hold up to stumping wood that big but I reckon it should do fine.

@@ArjunFarms it was on a recreational hunting track (160 acres) I owned a few years ago. The local meth enthusiasts found my hunting camp and helped themselves. Everything was locked up but that doesn’t really matter if they’re determined. I’ve since upgraded or replaced pretty much everything they took, and I sold that land for a tidy profit so I feel like I got the last laugh, but when it happened I was apocalyptically mad.
I have both the same saws, a clone 660 and 460 rancher. I don’t have a 36” bar I use a 24” and 32” on the 660 when needed. The rancher 460 is a dog, really it should be sold with a 18-20” it can’t pull a 24” at all through hard wood. I love the clone 660 it saves so much time cutting firewood it’s super fast.

I'm curious about the assembled weight of the G660 as well. I've been mulling over getting one as I mill with my G444, but milling is hard on it.

for firewood the clone saws are fine but if u use it everyday they just dont hold up. also unless your in really big wood the 660 is kind of pointless and a stihl 460 can cut just as fast or faster in small stuff at alot less weight. i run saws everyday for work and my go to saw is a 046 stihl and only really use the 660's we have when its a really big stump and the torque is needed. thats just me though. ive heard the g466 and g444 are the best to clone saws they have.

Yeah you picked right for the milling a 660 is perfect for that. I just recently picked up a clone of a echo 2511t on eBay for 130 bucks and I haven't had any big issues with it yet. It's a clone of the lightest chainsaw u can buy it's. top handle ment for in the tree but when cutting small stuff on the ground they are great. The brand is called v modest if your interested.

There's a notch built in the fuel tank where you can insert the string for your fuel cap
