  • Pros And Cons Of Rural Living in Wyoming. So I am a rural living girl! I love having my horses where I live. I love having my 8 (yes I said eight) dogs - I need to make a video about that - in the country. My kids can run all over our property. Right when I need peace and quiet I can find it. However, I do have to drive a little longer to work, my meal planning must be on point...and I need a stocked pantry...do the pros outweigh the cons??

    I’m considering moving there in eight years when I retire. I’m from Michigan so I know what cold is, and I’m not a liberal.
    What areas have more trees/forest and less wind? I don’t want the vast treeless flatlands. If you split WY into four corners what would you recommend as top two corners?.

      the western side, Pinedale has far less wind, and TONS of lakes mountains rivers etc

    What is rural vs urban?
    1. If you have wildlife (except birds) coming to forage on your yard, you're in a rural area.
    2. If you know your neighbour well enough to exchange favours, you're in a rural area. (And country folks don't keep tabs on who owes who a favour.)
    3. If you have less than a 30 minute drive to the nearest grocery store, you're NOT in the "middle of nowhere".
    4. If you get cellphone signal, you're NOT in the "middle of nowhere".
    And remember, you can't spell "nowhere" without both "now" and "here".

    Excellent video - thank you for the information. My wife and I want to move out of california when we retire (who doesn't?) and I very much want to live rural, my wife says she'll consider a rural area but maybe not quite a rural as Wyoming :( any tips for convincing her?

      I'm actually working on a listing in Kaycee right now! Have you been to our area? I would check out where different stores are that you frequent as well as who does electric, gas/propane, internet etc.

    I’m looking for 3 acres plus of rural land to build a home for me and a horse or two.I have been looking in the Casper area but not finding many places in any price range. Any advice thanks.

      What price range are you looking at?

    • @alishacollinsrealestate
      @alishacollinsrealestate  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gabrielwilliams893 very few properties in that price range are year round accessible with utilities. It is super important to make sure you have legal access and that electric (if you want it) isn't $2 Million to get there...

      I dont see how anybody could live in Wyoming for real and not hunt! I would never let making money rule my life!
