I'm definitely going to join your channel. I'm in love with Chicago I was there for Memorial Day. I also was there for July 4th and I'll be back for Labor Day as well. There's so much do I also love the fact that there's mass transit. We took the bus and subway everywhere. I have family there to help me navigate also get around. I'm honestly considering moving there in the future. I live in a small suburb outside of Detroit, Mi and its nothing like Chicago. You live in a amazing great city continue to enjoy yourself!!!

Been here all my life.. but you have to pick and choose how you move around. There is a lot going on. I lived in the city until abt 30 then all burbs after that. The only thing I do love are the summer events. Downtown has changed drastically.
If you want the safest neighborhoods with close access to the Loop, then Streeterville, Near North Side, and Fulton Market are solid. They’re practically walking distance and offer plenty of housing. The catch is you’re paying a lot of money to live in those areas. There’s tons of great affordable neighborhoods you can choose further from the loop. They still offer public transit to get you around the city. Check out Logan Square for a younger crowd or Ravenswood for a near suburban feel. The loop isn’t necessarily unsafe, but during weekends (excluding summers.. tourists) and late nights it can get desolate. There’s a big police presence there so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. They had some street takeovers last year but they’ve been clamping down on them this year. My main complaint is it doesn’t offer much activities for residents like you’d get in other areas. Check out the local neighborhoods for the best experience of the city.

I've moved around a few times. I would love to move to Chicago, ive also had to travel to andbfrom work in the Chicago area. My 1bedroom in The Bronx is $2,250. I’m considering moving to Chicago to buy a condo. My company has offices there and I can take my NYC income there so I’m 1,000% sure I would have a better life, but my concern is I would be all alone 😕
I've lived in Chicago all my life and I would not advise anyone to move here. The crime rates seem to soar every year, the mayors are problematic and for renters, if you don't make a lot of money at your job, you might have a problem getting an apartment, since it seems like a lot of property management companies in this city insist that tenants make 2 or 3 times the monthly rent. I 've been trying to find a new apartment in Chicago after living in my current apartment for 19 years, and I received a text message from the property management company of the apartment I wanted to move into that said "Chicago income requirements are roughly 3x the monthly rent." I'm planning to move AWAY from Chicago as soon as I can. The rent requirements in this city are RIDCULOUS.
The crime is horrible in Chicago. Stuff happens everywhere but Chicago can't seem to get a grip on the crime, however there's lots to do here, summers are pretty nice.

People were getting shot downtown in the years before I left. I don't think you realize how serious the crime is in Chicago.
Moved to Chicago-land last year. Not for meeeee! I’ve only been downtown like twice, I avoid it at all costs. There are parts of Illinois and Chicago that are cool on the outskirts of Chicago proper, the rent is still overpriced. The people are pretty cool though, except for customer service, smh. I’m movin to Indiana next month. It’s close enough to be in Chicago if I need to be, but without all the expense and regulations. Crime is always a consideration, but there are a plethora of beautiful black women who don’t act siddity, the white women on the other hand….everyone is beautiful in their own way. For people who live actually inside the city, there is a certain depression that hangs over a lot of it. It doesn’t have a really good feel unless you love grittiness and lack of opportunities, but, they are way more authentic than many places I have lived. Good sides, and bad sides.
