I moved to Chicago a few months ago from CA. I honestly think this is one of the few US cities that gets it right in terms of layout, infrastructure, walkability, public transportation, etc. The whole crime thing in my opinion is way over exaggerated. Chicago is nowhere near as bad as the media wants you to think.

I meant to leave a comment, a while ago. A year ago I was deciding whether to leave Boston and Chicago and NYC were really the only cities on my list. While researching I came across your videos and it was your videos that convinced me to give Chicago a shot. Now that I’m here, I love this city. Thank you so much for the great content.

I moved here back in 1999 because i wanted to live in a walkable city with mass transportation. I got tired of my whole paycheck going to a car. Sadly i see a lot of the pedestrian friendly corner stores disappearing into parking lots lately,

My boyfriend I are planning to move to Chicago. We never thought it would be possible. We live in Salt Lake City. We recently started looking at different cities and we’re shocked that housing and rent is cheaper in Chicago than here. We’re very excited!!!!!

Tbh, as someone who is moving from DFW to Chicago, it’s pretty on par. Only real difference is the gas price, but, I’m in Texas so….

I laughed when you mentioned you had 100 good days of summer weather in Chicago because where I live in California, I can golf 12 months a year, go snow skiing in the morning and be golfing in the afternoon so Chicago has nothing on us as far as weather is concerned. But what's funny is I got married last year, and my wife who spent over 20 years in Europe loves Chicago and its weather more than she loves California hence my watching your video. Lol.....Might need to buy a snow blower for the first time in my life here real soon...lol

I moved to Chicago from CA and I love it more than CA too. California has great weather and nature but that’s about it. It’s overpriced and way too expensive not to mention car-centric. Chicago is a great place to live without a car which is what I love most about it.

I’ve lived in Chicago all my life. California sounds like a dream, I would LOVE that weather. I’ll be honest the winter in Chicago is really hard for me, but May-October are amazing. When the weather is nice people really make the most of it- there’s neighborhood fests and activities and it’s just awesome. There are also things to do to cope with the winter, it’s kindof fun to sit in a local pub or go to a Sauna (I recommend King Spa), movie night, etc.
