    I've been heavily thinking about moving to Chicago, I thought to myself "Hmm, I should look up people who are living/from Chicago." I was recommended your video and I noticed you posted this TODAY. If this ain't a sign, idk what is??? 🤯 I'm from New Mexico, born and raised on a reservation so this will be a HUGE change for me alone. Deciding on a summer move-in next year.
    PS You're super pretty! I love your lashes. Def gonna subscribe! 🤍

      Chicago is a big city but with a big heart! There’s a neighborhood for every type of person and every interest. 700 parks throughout the city, lower cost of living than NY or LA, way cleaner, way friendlier, and a great food culture! Research different neighborhoods and talk to people who live there if you can and you’ll find the right spot for you. Good luck! Happy to answer questions too.

    Southside Chicago here! Chicago alongside the Midwest is like the southern North. Very different flow than north east. It has a Northern Swag but with a Midwest vibe that’s more down to earth and not too hype up. You can live here and mind your business. Like you said it is overlook entertainment in Chicago.
    Chicago is unique because it’s big and is huge but affordable and not so “celebritish like ATL or New York.
    I feel Chicago is more humble!
    The dating life here is a struggle if you are black, educated and don’t have kids.

    • @Ayahna
      @Ayahna  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! I would say it depends on the field you're looking to break into. Using LinkedIn really helped for me, and using my colleges career center. Hopefully this helps :)

    You've GOT to be kidding with affordability. Chicago is the 7th most expensive city in the entire US. Unless you live in NY or lA or San francisco chicago is far from affordable. Taxes are 10% . Grocery and gas is Hella expensive.

    Great video! My name is Ayana too! I am considering a move for work to Chicago for an opportunity that will last 12-18 months. I've been watching videos trying to familiarize myself with the culture/area. In one video, a youtuber mentioned that it is unnecessary to have a vehicle. Do you agree? I live in DC and would hate to transport my car all the way there for nothing.

    • @Ayahna
      @Ayahna  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Omg hey twin! 😍and hmm it depends, I've been living here for 9 years this year and didn't get a car until the pandemic (2020) so I was carless for about 6ish years but I do love having the freedom of moving how I want. But not having a car helps with getting to really learn the city. So it's up to you, but the transit system is really great!

    I went to Chicago to visit recently. It's actually a beautiful city and didn't seem as segregated as they say. I saw plenty of interracial friend groups getting along. Chicagoans are also alot nicer (im from the east coast).
    Just like any city, stay away from the ghettos and you'll be fine. Hopefully in time, they will all gentrify and get rid of the riffraff eventually.

    • @theatrix10
