    Honestly, I've always revered Honda as a brand, just because they're known for their good old fashioned "quality," for which there is no technique or design, just effort and meticulousness. But I've intuited that in recent years, they've held themselves to a conservative agenda with their bikes - always conservative with the horsepower, and always well-rounded with everything but never flashy in any one department. Honda was always that solid bike that was "ok" at everything and really reliable. Ducati, on the other hand, is that flashy, romantic motorcycle that's Italian, fast and unreliable. Finally, Honda unleashed a beast that you really can't beat - potentially the most capable machine speed-wise and also the best in the humble thing called reliability and quality. And Alex McAllister wants one. Did I get the narrative right? Lol

      It is really difficult to beat the S-1000 RR. It is really an all around beast.

      I really don't get this repeated claim that ducati is unreliable. Since audi got involved in 2010 they are a very reliable bike now as they have fixed the electronic weaknesses. I've owned a few, and a couple of fireblades in recent years and they have all been fantastic reliable superbikes

    • @theonlyredspecial
      @theonlyredspecial 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@agentofenhanced2428 ok, ill be more specific. the internal dimensions in regards to the stroke and bore are based on Hondas own rc213V. The internal dimensions are shared with the RC213V MotoGP bike, using the MotoGP-limit 81mm bore and 48.5mm stroke (previously 76mm and 55.1mm respectively) There was a debate about the V4 option inside Honda, based on a contact in BSB I have and they felt moving to a V4 engine for the fireblade would destroy its inline 4 heritage. I think the 2019 was a better road bike, but the 2020 Blade, based on results so far from the Irwin brothers in BSB is proving that the changes to the older bike have worked as a track bike. Pretty sure this is why honda are selling the RR alongside the RR-R model. I actually traded in my 2020 blade RR-R a few days ago after 500 miles. it was killing my arms, but the engine is a lot of fun. Not something you could find out on a demo either sadly. Lost a few grand on that so more fool me. I actually just got a ping last week about a recall on the RR-R so will be interesting to hear how many are affected. recall is for sump bolts loose in the bottom of the engine. Have to replace the gasket and all the bolts too.

    • @yahtotv5492
      @yahtotv5492 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      The funny thing is the last couple of years these bikes have been tested against one another the Aprilia and BMW turned the fastest laps. Honda was even turning faster laps than most bikes on many tracks despite being down some on power. Now with all that HP plus still having that 600cc handling it will be very hard to beat. The GSXR was also turning some of the fastest laps just behind Aprilia and BMW and even beating the R1. While Ducati and Kawasaki was at the bottom much of the time. Its a shame that Aprilia decided to back off racing after dominating for so many years. And BMW is the king at the Island of Man TT. Something else to mention only the new Fireblade RR-R SP and the R1M have the Ohlins top end electronic suspension with pressurized forks. The other bikes do not.

    Most people don't take a civic or a pedal bike to it's full potential on the street either. How many people do you see doing 720 spins off a ramp or screeching the tires on a civic going around corners? If people wanted to get something that "just drove from point a to b" they would get a prius or a scooter. The point of getting performance vehicles is because of the fun, excitement and exhilaration they give you.

Even the warranty was better due to these changes. It's not like owning a 916/996/998 or 748 anymore. Those were beautiful bikes to look at and race, but for owning one for daily, street riding.....its definitely not a Honda Fireblade or VFR of that same era, actually the total opposite. Ducati only got better after this; since the acquisition from Audi, via The VAG it can only get better quality wise. Great time to be a Duck fan for sure.

    • @estoylaroca
      @estoylaroca 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MattieXMoto Questioning the cost first is exactly the reason why it isn't worth for you.
      My point is, if you're worried about cost, then go for the Kawasaki, it's the cheapest.
      But if you want a bike that beats the other bikes completely stock wise? Then go for the Honda.
      If you're a rider who wants the best performing bike out there, you don't ask "but how much does it cost?", you just ask "what's the best out there".
      Honda's track record shows that it just doesn't throw around price points like that "other" brand, and it always gives you the best bang out of your buck for the money you put into it. And not surprisingly, it didn't change this year.

    Finally somebody mentions about the kawasaki and all its aftermarket parts that are available to make it something that it's not.
    After all the kawasaki does hold the track record that one track with the SBK bike that beat all the MOTO GP BIKES!
    All the bikes are pretty good here but who dose not flash the ECU and put a pipe on there bike.
    The yamaha makes 240 horse power with the head work and bolt on parts.
    The Honda 230hp that's the old one.
    The BMW 220 with good parts the old one here too.
    The Aprilla 208 with flash and pipe the old models from 2016 up.
    The Duck 226hp with pipe and flash .
    Kawasaki ?
    The new machine should be quite something and act differently with these modifications.
    Honda generally has a lot of cam choices which could enhance its low end performance and midrange this will make a good street bike.
    Yamaha still the king of quickness.
    But it's not winning races like it used to.
    And it's never won a road race that I know of.
    The suzuki has been quite a bike for quite a long time and the new one supposed to be bang on.
