    Agree with the rest of the comments; literbikes have become way too track focused & expensive to be used and enjoyed thoroughly on the road. Meanwhile, there is a shortage of options for those of us who do want fully faired sportbikes that are also realistic and usable on the road. Off the top of my head, I can only think of the Ducati SuperSport, Honda CBR650R, and the upcoming Aprilia RS660 in that small segment. Ninja 1000SX? Too heavy. Ninja 650? Too soft. Again, the age old question; where are the fully faired MT-09s, Z900s, and Street Triple 765s? There needs to be more road friendly, fully faired sportbike options for people who don't want neither the upright, beaked, faux supermoto/adventure bikes nor the ridiculous hypernakeds with zero wind protection...

      Suzuki GSXS-F, and the Ninja 1000, not the ZX10 are both great choices in that limited segment.

      i love how people complain . instead of bettering thier skill level they bash on a company for making to good a sportbike . proper peg position , big power , high revs . thats what fast bikers want . and as far as using on the road i guess where your from is everything. i have been opver 180 on the back roads around my house . in pijamas . scraping peg and all .lol. lots of us want these things . i will say though that the power level of these things is sorting out the faff. just wish you could turn off the abs and such . we want analog experience .cheers

      Get a CBR 600RR or GSXR-750 for the most pure fun.. No abs, traction control, throttle by wire or computer sensing every little thing. I like trail braking late, control the brakes with feel; can’t do that on ABS bikes. I’ve ridden the latest R1’s, S1000RR, Aprilia and others. Like KTM RC8. Personally the three I had I loved way more than the bikes my buddies own. 11’ Triumph 675 Daytona - 06’ GSXR-1000 - 16’ CBR600RR. Amazing fun in the canyons. See GSXR 1000 vs RC51 Attack The Snake SQUADRIDE. ✊🏼

    Who would have thunk it? For many years, the Yamaha was a always considered too track focused to be a good street bike, now, you give the nod to the Yamaha, and it’s the CBR-RRRRRR that is the track weapon! In either case, these are specialty track bikes, which make their power at ridiculous speeds. With the Super Naked class so full of product offerings, its hard to imagine needing an R1M or CBR 1000 as a street bike.
    Just sayin....

    • @Fearless154
      @Fearless154 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Back in 2015 since the release of the new r1 the engine felt very peaky and under 8 rpm it felt like 600cc but above it blew anything with it's peak power which make it pretty lame for th street because most of the time you feel no power and you had to work for it. After years past yamaha perfected the bike made it smoother and much more balanced. Now days r1's are torquey and can easily be ridden on the street engine wise. Ergonomics wise it's still one of the most uncomfortable superbikes to ride it have the highest seat and very close and low clipons. I have 2018 r1 i use it as my everyday bike and i have no issues at all i do prefer superbike's ergonomics because im 6.3 tall and riding on the naked bike on the highway and the track really hurts my neck. I had 2017 mt10 before the r1 and i had worst time of my life i loved the engine but the ergonomics wasn't for me. I got used to ride superbikes.

    It's the beautiful engine noise of the R1 for me. And oh man, put an aftermarket can on it, it's beast mode engine noise. Riding it is much better than hearing it drive by. I don't need the M version. My standard R1 is just fine. Aftermarket suspension parts are better than stock ohlins. You can't even buy the parts from ohlins. You can only get them through Yamaha and Honda. So have fun when they need service. You're at the dealership mechanic mercy. I'd rather just buy the ohlins stuff from ohlins. Then you can send it back for service.

      Goes to show that there's no accounting for taste, because it's purely subjective and cannot be quantified. I think the FireBlade is by far the better looking and sounding of the two. You could say that I'm biased because I own a FireBlade, albeit an older one, but I'm too old for fanboy mentality, I really do simply prefer the looks and sound of the 'Blade.
      I could definitely make good use of one, here on UK roads, but that amount of horsepower is pointless, it's the quality suspension, quick-shifter, auto-blipper etc that would do it for me. Regardless, I'm skint so I won't be buying one and my 954 still keeps up with most things.

      I have 2019 s1000rr as the newer model. It's amazing and one of the fastest bikes 1000cc superbikes but it's way too smooth and predictable and so boring to ride which is shame. It's great when you chilling on the street but that's not the characteristics i seek in the superbike. Now i bought 2020 r1 and i forgot about the s1000rr the r1 is so much more fan to ride.

    The US citizens still have the option to choose between 2019 Blade and 2020 Blade. The 19 model is a great supersport for the street whilst 2020 is just as they say, "born to race."😃

    • @Fearless154
      @Fearless154 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2017-2019 one of the worst fireblades models i ever ridden and superbikes in general it feels gutless down low and without too much peak power as well. Also the gear box is pretty lame too. Way too much false neutrals and some times i had the gears jumps from 5 to 4 for no reason at all. The electronics are also the worse i've ever experience on a modern superbike it feels like something from 2012 era. Way to intrusive i just switch them off. The pros are the bike is physically and feels like 600cc and you can throw it from side to side without any afford. Overall It's not a good street bike at all. The best street fireblade model for me was 2014-2017. Torquey and very confortable for a superbike. I didn't ridden the 2020 model but i'll bet it'll be much better bike for both street and the track. The older bike was that bad no wonder why honda totally remade the bike just after 2 years.

    Honda made no mistake in marketing there new blade for track use. And it does that perfect. Also it shits all over the Yamaha in looks, and sound. It's designed to win races if you want a road bike that has super sport performance get a streetfighter/naked. Most of them have the same motor re tuned for better road manners and a more relaxed riding position, with the same chassis brakes and suspension.

      Sp has the same engine as regular Fireblade,....always had.Only 2017 Cbr 1000rr SP2 had minor changes.
      Regular new Fireblade doesn't exist on US market yet. On other markets like in Europe,y Honda is selling both versions regular and SP.
      On US market SP is heavily restricted.
      Read latest Cycle World articles about it.Also 2017,18,19 has the same bhp on both versions.
      So SP in restricted version still needs some work, ecu flash,etc to be able unleash the full potential of the bike.
      If Ducati sells non restricted motorcycles on US market, what kind of excuse Honda has?
      Still Sp is a wonderful, and beautiful bike! Whoever rode Sp version knows what I'm talking about.

      Yes it is new engine, and it's restricted on US market.
      Where did you get those hp numbers from?
      Most likely the engine is capable make almost 200 on rear wheel, but because of certain regulations is restricted.

    Good review again. I'd actually like to see a Ducati 1098s or 1098r go up against a 2020 model litre bike. Just to see the difference in track times and rider comfort. And if all this electronic stuff actually makes a difference on a track. Or are we too reliant on the 2020 bikes doing all the work for us and we've all forgotten how to ride a real bike with no electronic stuff.I'm guessing the track times would be about the same that's assuming someone out there still knows how to ride a real bike.
