Do you know if the charging handle off the vmac9 will work on a vmac45 no one has been able to answer this not even velocity arms am i the only person that has thought about this
I wish I had an answer for you but I don't have both of those two on hand to see. I do believe they are different though (for the top cocking ones anyways). Looking at them on VMAC site, they are very different looking (stem diameter, etc)
I’m at the stage where I need to park mine. Did you figure out if your solution was manganese or zinc? And also how long did you leave it in the solution?
I left it in there until it stopped "fizzing". I honestly don't know which was in there. I just added more water to the sludge, I think that tank sat for over a year before firing it back up, I don't remember which was in it.
This was a simple parkerized finish. Bead blasted the parts, and then submerged them in parkerizing solution, 185-190 degrees. It can be done on your stovetop at home.
The catch seemed OK as-is. I did have to polish the ramp, and tweak it downwards a little bit. Just used a hammer and a large punch, it was maybe 1mm-2mm too high when I welded it in.
I bought the parts from Velocity directly. They were I think $279 back when I got them. Maybe $60 for a pair of side plates on GunBroker. Then just a bit of time and welding.

Looks good 👍
I think it turned out great!
Will you weld me up a mini? I got the front and back

Did you put this in a fixture or just weld it right up?
I used clamps for the back plate and the grip/magazine well. No fixture, just clamps when needed.
👍
How to make good color of your lower receiver... Bro
I parkerized it. I'm thinking I should have maybe left it in longer, or added more manganese so it would be darker. But it doesn't look too bad as is.
Where do you get your parkerizing solutions?
@@kevinpayne7557 Brownells
What wire size did you use to weld it?
TIG, with .030 MIG wire for filler
Id pay 500 for it.
How much would you sell a fully built one for??
Sounds like something a Fed would say
