I was hoping Frank was the chef so we could see Emily forge her own pan and grow her own buckwheat.
Lol
🤣🤣🤣
Bold of you to assume she would get iron ore instead of a pick axe.
Love these comments
"First we're going to build a Time Machine to travel back in time and collect the heirloom buckwheat seed" 😂
Emily is such a fun personality on this channel. Her development as a cook is top tier character development.
Thanks!! 😄
@@EmilyDuncan Hey Emily, I heard you have a channel of your own with fun videos and guests.
@@defaultuser1447I’ve heard that rumor! 😄
couldn't agree more with this
"I've been training snapping turtles for the circus"
Why do i believe that completely 😂
yeah I was about to say that. I completely believe that lol
I have to say, I really liked Bill's spin on the ingredients. Its just so creative
The fact that he even asked for syrup for HIS pancakes shows he's a real one tbh
Emily's new hair looks fantastic
Thank you!!
05:50 Emily's reaction to the strawberries is great, and not that surprising given her Canadian heritage. (Though English ones are even better when they're in season!)
greek ones are even better than english ones
I was thinking the same thing. Given the colour and perceived firmness, I totally understand how those would NOT be the best strawberries she has had in her life. The tiny strawberries in Ontario are just bursts of soft juicy goodness.
I love seeing how confident Emily is in tackling the professional's recipe compared to when she was in level 1. Love to see the growth. Rooting for you Emily!
Her $225 guess didn’t even buy the first 4 ingredients 😭
I love Emily for keeping it real about the overpriced Strawberrys
it does taste amazing, however hard to describe, especially when the texture is the most important part. It's amazing even on its own, however I loved to put some in a plain natural yoghurt
@@luxwolf603 So it's more texture then taste so you should be able to use something cheaper then 26 bucks...
@tetepeb why would a chef in a high-end restaurant care about using something cheaper?
@@DA_9219 They don't off course.
@tetepeb, @15:07 he admitted it.
Emily is just absolutely delightful. It's interesting watching these cooking lessons but she makes it fun too.
❤Emily...such a transformation in her persona over the years
I love Emily
I was so screaming "you forgot the maple syrup!!!"🤣🤣 I was relieved 😅
Pleasantly surprised by Chef Bill's ingredients and would try his both versions any day! 😋
I know the chefs are probably told to make it as expensive as possible by epicurious, but this is honestly ridiculous. It's become instead of trying to get the non chefs to try new techniques or things they've never seen/done before to just throwing as much money as possible
The price is also inflacted, though. For instance, nobody's going to use that entire bottle of Cognac for these pancakes. I wish they'd take that into account.
They do that for every single one of these videos. There are multiple ones where they buy $50 blocks of cheese, and grate a tiny bit of it as a topping, or $30+ dollars of olive oil to use a few teaspoons as dressing. The $628 omelet video, the had a $120 abalone they used one bite of, a $200 box of uni they used one piece, and a $65 bottle of Sake, the used a spoonfull. It's all nothing but click bait
@@XBluDiamondX You know the cognac bottle isn't even the most expensive .. it was like 200 dollars for yuzu peels and juice?! I think that was the most ridiculously overpriced ingredient
The cognac is probably the most reasonably priced item in there
@@XBluDiamondX
That’s not inflation. You can’t buy a few tablespoons of cognac.
Both interesting results, and it's always fun to see Emily having fun.
Very entertaining, educational, and now I am hungry!
It's been really wholesome watching Emily improve her cooking on this show
Why would you buy expensive strawberries to then just cook it down for a flambé. Doesnt that just defeat the purpose?
I think the purpose was to find something to spend $400 on
No, no, no, no. You don't just get to say, "Training snapple turtles for the circus" and not elaborate
😂
More Chef Bill X Emily!!!
the best
bill and emily are the best! would love to see them both again together
Always happy to see Bill ❤
Wonderful episode!
This was so wholesome
Can we all just remember emily said. " I train snapping turtles for the circus. " Can we get an I love turtles next emily. :)
If you get rid of the Yuzu and the Cognac you can just see how expensive groceries are.
most of his ingredients that she also has are 5x expensive as hers
$8 sugar v $2
$20 APF vs $2
Funny thing is $65 is actually not that much for cognac
It’s misleading. You’re not going to use an entire bottle of cognac for one recipe of pancakes.
@@colleengallo4831no but I’ll drink it alongside them
I love them both so much.
I love chef Bill! More of him please.
Such a cute cook off. Chef Bill is so serious and sophisticatedly cooks while Emily is cheerful and pleasantly cooks!
Cool to see Heilala vanilla in one of these videos! I'm in New Zealand and it's in our local supermarkets :)
Emily's 404 pancake became Error 404 pancake in my mind
That greeting lol, do they secretly hate each other? 🤭🤣
I love chef Bill´s recipes because they´re soooooo fancy!!!!
I strive to be Emily in the kitchen 🙌
Love Emily! Getting more hilarious every time.
I have a lot of flour wanted to make pancakes this is very helpful.
Emily is always the best 😍😍😍
It's nice to see them try each others dishies
Emily is my favorite person in this chanel, love chef bill too
hahahah I loved the background music while flaming strawberries
I love Emily, but it's also fantastic to see Bill back
Bill is back! Long time no see! And Emily here!
CHEF BILL 💙💙💙 GLAD TO SEE HIM BACK
His soufflé pancakes process are how my family makes waffle batter.
i really love Emily's look in this episode
Love you Emily, fellow Canuck, congrats for alllll the things :)
I love Emily's honesty with the Strawberries lol
emily is so fun to watch i love seeing her episodes
I really love Emily
remove the yuzu and emily's guess for the price was spot on
I love Emily so much
Chef Bill is awesome!
i loveee emily's sense of humor
It look so yummy, it got me watering
We love our girl Emily ❤
Too fun!
Emily made me chuckle about those strawberries 🤣🤣🤣
The most impressive part was seeing someone make up enough bs to make Pancakes cost 404$
Super cute video .. great cooks.
I would one day like to see what a pro chefs make for them/their families at leasure time. The pro cook in this series is always flexing with ingredients and it's a bit over the top for me...
I don’t know about Chef Bill, but another chef on this channel, Chef Frank, has a channel(Proto Cooks, I think?) that might answer your question.
I’d where y’all shopping at but that ain’t no $14 where I live. That’s at least $25 if not more.
Here in the UK, those ingredients come around to about the same price, depending on what sort of maple syrup you get.
Yayyy Emily, we love you!!! Love the new hair!!
I'd love the recipe for this
just wow
Emily is my spirit animal!😂
Does anyone know where to find the actual recipes used (with measurements)? I am having trouble finding it on their website and the video does not mention measurements
$90 each for yuzu peel and juice? what the heck, I've never had it but it can't possibly be that great haha
Bruh even the chef got it wrong, its omakaese strawberries, oishii is the brand
This was so wholesome!!! Loved the video. But 400 dollars for pancakes??? Nooo lol little bit too much in my opinion cheers amigos!
I love Emily.
Soudsn like great recipes!
So can I get the recipe by subscribing to the recipe database? I'd really like to make the $14 version but I don't think the recipe was disclosed in the episode. Does anyone have any insight on this?
I don’t think he used a recipe. He just based what he did on what his senses said. I would just guess on the amounts.
he should have added few drops of water into the pan, to get them to steam more, cause being so thick, they are gonna burn on the outside before they cook on the inside
Wait I’m confused those ingredients added to 116.72$
I was confused too! But they didn't mention yuzu which is $180, the cognac which is about $50, and maple syrup which idk the prices of! 😂 Hope that helps have a great day babe 🩷🌸
Bill is so talented! I loved what he did ❤️
3:42 yes feastables
it's like seeing my two personalities meet each other
$14 for one meal is why im in debt
I 100% believe Emily was training snapping turtles for the circus
It's always a treat to see Emily cooking, Chef Bill was fun too, *BLOWTORCH* XD
Chef Bill yes daddy 😍😍
emily's hair is a vibe
Finally Bill! 😍
When I was younger, my mom would make a stack of pancakes and put candles on the top for my birthday.
I once seen a snapping turtle jump through a ring of fire to get to a bowl of KETCHUP
Hey it’s full circle. Bill had to wear a glove in a dish swap video and now Emily who is cooking with bill has to wear a glove
And in the Mac and cheese video with the two!
Something tells me that Bill loves that blowtorch.
I think the first batch of pancakes is the best.
Emily has the attitude of a Disney character. Watch out if she get angry . . .
16:36 I thought he was gonna say 'ketchup' :D
If you go round to Emily's house, the most expensive stuff is probably in the fridge. $404...
Chef Emily personality reminds me of Zoe Deschnel in New Girl.👍
👍👍👍
Why on earth is yuzu peel and juice both $90?
I tried googling those prices, but even the yuzu gin that showed up wasn't even anywhere near $90
Because they like to go over the top with prices, I can buy a whole tree for 74 dollars in the Netherlands apparently 🤣 definitely doing that before spending this insane amount of money on juice and a peek
Wait. Is this focus peaking red color on chocolate? 😄 15:21
Overcooked pancakes are bad. Undercooked pancakes are badder.
YO! Emily can flip a pancake!!!!
Bill’s take on the pancakes look godtier.
I so appreciate how Chef Bill always sticks with just the original ingredients and elevates it with technique alone!! And he’s a cutie patootie to boot, more Chef Bill please 🩵🏳️🌈
