Shoutout to the producers and editors on this one! Filming both a recipe that takes around 24 hours to make and a recipe that just takes a couple of hours tops, and timing them perfectly to finish at the same time so both pizzas look fresh in the final shot, all while splicing in interview material seamlessly in the final edit. This WAS NOT an easy film to create. And they managed it beautifully
I always assume the pizza gets cold like maybe they film together after a fee hours or something. Since i would assume they have only one kitchen and dont film parallely in 2 kitchens with two crews.
@@Greydawgyeah but it would be interesting to see how they time the cooking , since one dish takes waaay longer than the other. And yet both are done at the same time.
@@sesto194 they are not done at the same time, it only seemed that they are done in the same time span because of careful editing. I still don't see it. She's my least favorite on the show. She seems very designed/prescribed. Lorenzo is being Lorenzo. Lish is being who she's supposed to be. Edit: she's my second least favorite. My least favorite is this guy who's name I can't even remember. He does the 3 Levels of show as a level 1 chef. He never even tries. Everything is store bought and pre-made with him. Lish is better than him, I guess.
This pairing had the perfect combination of levity, educational instruction, fascinating processes, and delicious looking outcome. These two people are great for the format of this programming.
I love how adaptive Lish was with Lorenzo’s ingredients. Frugal but lavish as well. Also Lorenzo is the most sociable and friendly soul on Epicurious. Loving this.
Lish and Lorenzo in one Swap? How can it not be awesome?! Both Pizzas look incredible! Also, the positivity is through the roof! What a wholesome episode on top of great food! Love it! Lish for president, she is the best!
Unpopular opinion but I prefer these videos when they feature the less popular Epicurious chefs like Chef Lish. My other fave chefs are Esther, Yuji, and Bill. They just add so much variety to the techniques and flavors used.
I love any episode with a chef with a personality. Saul and Frank are fan favorites, but Lish always brings a really fun energy. Like the Miss Frizzle of food.
I'm pretty easy. I like 99% of the personalities on Epicurious. I mean I have a soft spot, Level 3 Chef-wise, for Frank, Saul & Lish. Lish has such a cool, enjoyable energy to her and she's so smart. Has a lot to say about food and why she likes it. ~Ry
Wow love hearing Chef Lish speak.. Besides having a nice melodious voice, she has so much knowledge with so much heart.. So this is why she is a professional chef ❤😊
I think it shows such a respect to Frank. He goes above and beyond to try to use authentic, fresh ingredients and its recognized. He's an incredible chef, but I love them throwing the lesser known chefs in front of the camera :)
So proud of Lorenzo for getting the pizza onto the pizza steel with no mess. And Lish actually made me laugh when she said "Lorenzo got me ONE onion.." lol.
Watching this video is humbling. I always cook and I now hear of many ingredients I’ve not known in the past like Scamorza and Taleggio cheese and broccoli rabe.
Thing is with the cost: They buy one package of a very expensive ingredient, list the price for the whole thing, but only use a fraction of it. e.g. the price will skyrocket, if I buy 2 Bottles of 100$ Olive Oil, but only use a spoon or two. Prices should be calculated and compared per serving and actual used ingredients.
Chef Lish demonstrates a savant-like mastery in her culinary technique and flavor creation, a rarity in the realm of cooking. Her profound command of the culinary chemistry, combined with an artisan's skill in blending ingredients harmoniously, is truly exceptional.
Those pizzas look amazing, I think that is a great way to introduce something like broccoli rabe to people who have never tried it before or really any ingredient like it
@@FutureCommentary1 I just don't understand why is all; the ingredients are more expensive anyway, so why outright lie? It just seems not just misleading, but unfair to anyone else who actually thinks they can make these recipes for these prices, or that they can't afford to make better recipes.
Usually it's very difficult to add water to kneaded dough. Does the einkorn flour help with this? Lorenzo did a fantastic job shaping and handling the dough. If the dough is strong enough, you can usually "drag" it onto the peel. But I've never worked with einkorn before, and Lorenzo's more cautious approach worked really well.

Most of the cost seems to be in the fennel pollen, various cheeses, and high grade olive oil. Plus it assumes you're buying the whole thing even if the recipe only calls for a bit. Realistically, Lish's dish could probably be reduced to about $60 depending on what you go with
At the same time it'd valid to compare the two side by side for an equal comparison, you generally can't a tablespoon of something. By that logic, Lorenzo's would only be a few bucks
@@danniellecoultas3348 In other videos they have had the exact same brand, it seems that they cost out the cheap ingredients as per a portion where as for the expensive ones they cost it out per unit (e.g an entire bottle of sauce), just so there is a bigger delta for that click bait title
Imho Lorenzo did it better as he did not flatten the dough with the rolling pin. He will have a nice puffy edges and probably the crust. VincensosPlate would probably agree ;)
So, in the end, the pizza they eat is not the same pizza they pulled out of the oven in the video. I was wondering how these are recorded, and how much is pre-made to avoid, for example, waiting for dough to rise. How many pizzas were made? I'd love a "behind the scenes" on the videos like these.
