From what I can tell, you've proven that you DON'T need therapy because look at the things you've overcome. You have got such a strength in you that you were able to overcome fears, try new and scary things, and even be open to new things which most of us choose not to do and you did all of this without a therapist and spending boat loads of money. Of course you know what's best for you and I don't even know you. But as someone on the outside looking in, my impression of you is that you are quite a strong lady IN SPITE of your perceived weaknesses. Great recipes btw!

I would have never guessed in a million years you were self-taught. I'm self-taught and have been for 11 years and am nowhere near where you are. Custom cakes give me complete anxiety to the point I don't want to do them anymore! But I have such a passion for baking it's unreal! Definitely agree TH-cam is the place to learn baking. I follow recipe all the time. Now I don’t buy bread anymore in the store. Thank you for sharing...I also struggle with mental illness and anxiety...I used baking to keep me productive and challenge myself to try new things. Also I weave on my spare time. Decided to find a hobby that will help me find my creativity . Now both baking and weaving keeps my mind off from thinking so negative and feel so anxious all the time.

I so love you talking about your anxiety and depression! Thank you! I went into a deep depression which I haven't felt in 5 years over march/April/may/June/July. I am finally feeling a lot lot better through exercise, therapy and medication! There is a shining light at the end of the tunnel! But I know at any time it will ebb and flow and there's no shame in getting help, therapy is hard, sometimes it feels like it makes it all worse- but at the end it really opens you up and lifts a weight! Well it did for me!
I am 35 and got all the stuff but always get annoyed and feel like I need more confidence and a teacher am my worst critic ,you inspire me so much your amazing xx well done x

I took the Wilton classes when my kids were young in Northern VA. Back then not much on the internet for cake decorating. It was buying a book, dvd, or attending a class. I was self taught and it turned into a ten year cake business. Moved to UT in 2018 with my 3 girls and all my cake gear, but haven’t wanted to start up again. Not sure if I will, but am still passionate about cake decorating. I love watching and learning regardless. You have become one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing your personal struggles as well, it makes you all the more authentic. So happy for what you’ve been able to accomplish ❤️

😂😂 baking does cause a lot of swearing, it’s true! I forgot to run an offset spatula around my cake before popping it out of the pan and was definitely frustrated wondering why the cake wouldn’t come out lol

I so love you talking about your anxiety and depression! Thank you! I went into a deep depression which I haven't felt in 5 years over march/April/may/June/July. I am finally feeling a lot lot better through exercise, therapy and medication! There is a shining light at the end of the tunnel! But I know at any time it will ebb and flow and there's no shame in getting help, therapy is hard, sometimes it feels like it makes it all worse- but at the end it really opens you up and lifts a weight! Well it did for me!
I am 35 and got all the stuff but always get annoyed and feel like I need more confidence and a teacher am my worst critic ,you inspire me so much your amazing xx well done x

Thanks for sharing your story, I have enjoyed watching your creations and it’s fun to hear about your journey. I did the same thing in 2008. I took the Wilton classes when my kids were young in Northern VA. Back then not much on the internet for cake decorating. It was buying a book, dvd, or attending a class. I was self taught and it turned into a ten year cake business. Moved to UT in 2018 with my 3 girls and all my cake gear, but haven’t wanted to start up again. Not sure if I will, but am still passionate about cake decorating. I love watching and learning regardless. You have become one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing your personal struggles as well, it makes you all the more authentic. So happy for what you’ve been able to accomplish ❤️

We are so so lucky to have access to your channel and I am and I'm sure everyone else here is greatful for all your content . Of course it's great to be taught professional in the industry but I believe self taught is a great way , its all trial and error , pick yourself back up after your error and try again . 😂😂 baking does cause a lot of swearing, it’s true! I forgot to run an offset spatula around my cake before popping it out of the pan and was definitely frustrated wondering why the cake wouldn’t come out lol

I loved baking when I was in high school but I stopped because I wasn’t motivated much back then but now that I’m a single mom and an I dependent contractor I started back up baking again and things are picking up slowly but I can see it picking up and I want to try new things like those brownies.

I also struggle with depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia & from an assult a back / neck injury that had caused some opioid dependency issue which Ive now been clean for nearly 4 years. (Alcohol free for nearly double) And I just want to say you inspired me to get out of my funk and do something for me again!! I really want you to know you sharing your decorating tips, recipes & just putting yourself out there has really given me something to look forward to & helped me learn about parts of myself as well...
