I live in SE Asia and probably 50% of people support Man U not even 1% support Real Madrid. I think Simon has a point. Man United have marketed themselves very well since the eighties globally. Real Madrid are nowhere near that level.

I hear that. I won't argue about their global pull. As said I am a Utd fan and I follow and am very interested in their marketability. However. 50% of South East Asian may support United but I can pretty much be sure almost all of them have heard also of Real Madrid due to CR7. And if not CR then they are the most successful Club in ALL of Europe. Like it or not they are just as big as Utd. And thanks to Glazers stagnation I would say bigger than Utd.

With no disrespect to Man Utd. Madrid has better history, League and European cups than Man utd, better stadium and training facilities than united, better finances and earnings than united, more followers than united on social media. So I don't know how Simon says United are still a big club than Madrid. The only thing I can think of United do better is that buy they world-class players and ruin their careers like Di Maria, Pogba, Alexis Sanchez. Any entertainment product in English would naturally sell more than other languages. From a pure football entertainment perspective, although this is subjective, I think La liga is still better.
Also in terms of fast pace, Real Madrid is the counter attacking king of Europe. Atletico are direct, fast paced and aggressive, and don’t even get me started on Athletic club. Don’t use Barca as a reflection of the entire league in general. La liga has a healthy mix of faced paced, direct, possession based and aggressive teams.

Thats what the English say to make themselves feel better about their league, their clubs, and their football in general. The weather is never the deciding factor. Even if city had Spanish food/culture/weather and Madrid was soggy Manchester, nothing would change. Madrid is just the best club in the world and everyone who's offered a chance would play there instead. So 10 years ago, when the best wanted to play for united its because united and prem are so great and when the best wanna go to madrid its the weather🤣🤣🤣🤣 The english are so ignorant

Am I the only one thinking the price tag is bonkers on Bellingham? Yeah he’s a good player I’ll admit but he also goes missing in big games.. did nothing vs Chelsea this season…. Did ok in the World Cup at group stage but went missing against France when it mattered. He’s ok yeah but I do wonder if hel fade off in a big team.

Simon is delusional thinking that premier league have the best and the biggest clubs in the world. United cannot compare to Real Madrid, as they do everything better, Champions league, Money, Prestige of playing in the clubs along side legends of the game, with one of the most known and feisty rivalries in history. Real Madrid is no doubt the best and biggest club in the football history and then there will be competition for second place with the likes of Bayern, United and Barcelona.

Firstly, i love how the host blasted simon and enlightened him on facts. Also, disagreed with him because, he knows he's being bias, "typically"! Secondly, simon needs to stop trying to be on both sides of the fence. Is either you want to get blast, or agreed on. Pick one sir!. RM is the greatest and the best club in the world. While MU was great and maybe still despite, their challenges, RM was always on up with them. Infact, for the last 15 years RM has way gone past MU. So, no english sides is bigger than RM right now. Thirdly, laliga is not a 2 man's race. Middle teams and bottom teams beat RM and barca. Not to forget that, if la liga is a 2 man's race why atletico has won 3 titles in a peak RM and barca and why did sevilla dominated europa league. Get yall english bias analysis facts please! Bye!✌️🙄🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Kenyan here from Mombasa😅... i can agree with Simon Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool who barely have fans here combined still can't match Man United's supporters here,, On this Topic It's simple, Real Madrid and Barcelona offered Status, Your name in the History books and Guaranteed Success, Balon do'r for the Very Best Players.
But let's just appreciate how Dortmund Matures this Players Sancho was at the very top he was not even 22, Haaland, Bellingham remember Dembele when he went to Barcelona for a ridiculous fee he was not even 21.
Dortmund is such a good club for Young Raw Talents it's a pity they can't keep them and Grow their Stature.

£130m may rebuild a midfield but there’s also a good chance it will be wasted

I think real madrid and premiere league are on equal stand regarding salary but premiere league club lack prestige madrid and Barcelona stars are dominating world stage there players are wining world cup ballon d'or and that what premiere league lack .
And its premier league fault allowing blue balls to get ownership by Emirates and now they just go around buying all possible English player plus word class player from europ and people still dislike them and now its even rough with new castle joining the race next season every rich ceo can just put some cash on the table and play fifa mode with the entire PL watching.

" Using Madrid as a stepping stone " -> The only way out of Madrid is down. Asks Oil, Varane, Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo, Kaka.
" Madrid pays more money " -> Lmao
" La Liga is dominated by two sides " -> Madrid is 3rd at the moment, the EPL is dominated by one side, Manchester city. Others give a good fight thoough.
    As a simple reminder :
Manchester United : Out of the Europa League, beaten by a Spanish team.
Newcastle : Out of Europa league, beaten by a Portuguese team.
Chelsea : Out of the CL, beaten by a Spanish team.
Liverpool : Out of the CL, trashed at Anfield, beaten by a Spanish team.
Aston Villa : Out of Europe
    Brighton : Out of Europe
Arsenal : Out of Europa league, beaten by a Portuguese team.

If La Liga adopts the same model as the EPL where every club gets an equal share of the pie when it comes to revenue, then that will be the end of it because their league will become more competitive and Real and Barca will no longer be able to pay crazy money for players. They will no longer to be able to focus heavily on the UCL because the rotation will be harder due to league competitiveness.

Simon got it right and it's right on the video icon. Madrid are choosing to afford him and the English clubs are choosing to not afford him. Liverpool have chosen to not sign one player for 120 million but 3 or 4, and they are essentially choosing TAA over Bellingham and as a midfielder who is better, one you already have or one that costs 120 million. Chelsea just spent over a half billion, they don't need more players they have a whole squad they need to get rid of. United are for sale, would you spend 120 million on a player who's going to play for someone else. That pretty much leaves Arsenal, Newcastle, and City, and City could easily afford him but does Pep want to pay that much for one midfielder. I think it's not so much Madrid is better, Bellingham hasn't said he's going to Madrid so don't bid for me. I think the English clubs don't see value in a 19 year old midfielder that costs 120 million. He's not the only midfielder available.
