I bought it one week ago and I really like it :) although I had a paper white before and didn’t have the previous kindle scribe, I think this new look is more comfortable for reading due to its white frame.
I traded in my Scribe after using and enjoying it for about a year. I got a decent amount of credit from Amazon for it and put that credit towards the new Signature Paperwhite (In metallic jade) during the Black Friday sales. I liked the Scribe but used it mostly for reading and not notes. The new Paperwhite is my favorite Kindle yet! I love reading on it and average about three books a month. The battery life is amazing! Thanks for your many reviews. It has given me a lot of insight as a consumer. Wishing you a lovely holiday season. ❤
well, you have to take a kindle because you don't own any of the books you "bought" for full price and when you switch company your library is a puff of smoke. All the while you are stuck in the eco system and may realise that the library system is also a scam and consists to 90% of self published nonsense and definitely can't hold a candle to all other national e-library programs which kindle excludes you from. In addition you are not allowed to swap, lend, gift or sell what should be rightfully your property. But isn't. I really liked the functionality of my paperwhite but the business model is ripping you off from a-z. Cheers
It was said that the software of the 2022 model will get the same functionality as the new 2024 version. Would you happen to know if the active canvas is promised to come to the 2022 model? That is the one feature I wish Kindle books would allow you to annotate. I understand the licensing and technical issues, so it's the best we will get.
Thank you for your very informative video. I have the original Scribe and am wondering when the software update will be available over the air. Interesting that Amazon might be allowing in-margin annotations soon.
I also have the original Scribe. Amazon already began rolling out the updates and it will come to your device automatically. I didn't want to wait for the update, so I downloaded the new software to my computer from the Amazon website, connected the Scribe to the computer, and installed the update myself, rather than wait for it. The new software is a huge improvement. Lots of luck to you and enjoy!
Hello! Unrelated to this video but I wanted to thank you for helping me choose an e-reader for my girlfriend this Christmas! (After your thorough reviews, I went for a Boox Go 7 while it was on sale)
@Chalid - I can't highlight or underline line after a line like you. Always when i finish highlight or line an option bubble pops up - Delete A Note and search. how to get rid of it?
First, thank you very much for your video. Sorry if you already said it in your video. Will this new annotation system be available for the previous Kindle Scribe? Thanks in advance!
I tried the New Scribe but after 5-10 minutes, decided to returned it. Not an upgrade and prefer the black borders on my 2022 Scribe.

I’m sure she’s going to love her gift! And the giver! ❤

Kindle usually keeps software between hardware iterations. Eink companies in general do as the internals related to software don’t tend to change much
Yes. You can download the software manually to the previous Kindle.
