@@bernardbrincat5450 I just received both and am evaluating. It's all about the backlight so far. Go looks good down to dim ambient light, but 4C needs frontlight except in very bright light. Full frontlight on 4C and you can see a percent battery drop every few minutes. Other channels have done numerical tests.
For reMarkble the thing that makes me look for another device (top of the list) is the Connect subscription. This is also the same thing that made me abandon Evernote. Otherwise the main thing is the pen on paper quality I am looking for. So that’s hard to figure out.
Ironically this video came up as i opened a new 4c and sysrted updating OS. First thing i notice is how dark is the screen even with max frontlight. I'm coming from OLED screens and black and white 300ppi carta 1200 ereaders. Libra 2 is much more clear than 4C. I expected a dark and grainy display intellectually. But it's a gut punch when you've just unboxed something you really want to work.
And what are the opinion for the battery using this product. I understand, that theycan use it for days with one charge without using WiFi or Bluetooth. In the moment you turn on this features, the th battery life work like a normal tablet in the market. This is true?
Hello, first of all, congratulations on your videos. I have a question if you had to choose a device whose main function would be to read the novels you would choose in the dark: Boox Note Air 4c Boox Tab Ultra c Pro Thank you
Yes I returned my remarkable pro also due to the screen being too dark .. bought a scribe .. the colour ink technology is just not there yet .. way too dark even with back light on .. and colours are too pastel as well.
seems nice. But to big. I would wish for it to be roughly A6 Format. And the frame being smaler giving more area to useable screen. but that's probably dedicated to technical reasons and one not wanting to make the hole thing to thick. the remarkable 3 seems great therefore. (the frame/screen ration the device its even bigger ). but i have the remakable 2 and that's just not useable for many reasons.
Hello, and thanks for the great review! As an author it’s the writing texture and paper-like writing feel that matters most - the colour’s nice to have, but it wouldn’t factor in to my writing to any considerable extent. That being said, could you identity a tad more specifically what about the Remarkable Pro’s surface texture you feel more closely approximates writing on a plain sheet of bond paper? I’ve seen some reviewers suggest one tablet feels more like writing with a ball point pen on paper whereas another tablet feels more like a 2B pencil, if that’s helpful at all.
Hi, I find this product very interesting but I still ask you for some advice for my work. I am a sales representative and I still write orders by hand on a notepad and I send the orders by taking a photo of them with WhatsApp to my company. Crazy stuff but that's how they make me do it. Now I wonder if this product can help me do better. First of all I ask if it is possible to create "customer" folders where I can have a history of the orders that I am going to write and if from there I have the possibility of creating new orders, can I modify the files created and already saved? Because I often have customers who add to the orders and I need to be able to write more. And if I have the possibility of having an app on the company office PC, where my orders arrive, hence the notifications, or if I have to send them only by email... obviously I assume that this tablet has Wi-Fi. Thank you very much
Just go with the Tab Ultra Pro C! Faster and with a possibility to add keyboard case to it! Remarkable user gor two generations but the pro is not justifying it's price, the Boox TUPC is a awesome alternative!
The hallmark of this tablet seems to be its incessant ghost images. It is better to be aware of this before buying. For my part, I returned it after only 30 minutes of use.
Boox is made by Onyx International Inc., a company based in China. Their corporate headquarters is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong. I'd be very concerned about privacy.
Having a backlight on an ereader defeats the purpose of an eink reader, even though it has the color. So you are in fact looking at a light source rather than reflected light.
Hi , thanks for the video, I have a question:- I do deep studies in the Bible so would I be able to download books like commentary’s, Bible dictionary etc?
Unfortunately, because I'm not a fun of, but iPad remain better! The price is near, the battery life is near, but screen and versatility are huge better on iPad.
Do you realize that you are comparing incomparable things? You’re comparing a colorful, vibrant AMOLED screen designed for visual content, which harms the eyes, with a screen specifically created to minimize eye strain during reading. You’re literally comparing a book to a television.
@@ТатьянаШирокова-ц2н So, you’re saying that, aside from the specific case of reading eBooks-which is absolutely perfect for e-ink displays-a tablet is better in every other aspect. The one and only advantage of e-ink is that it’s less irritating to the eyes. If that’s the case, I completely agree with you. But it is the ONE and ONLY advantage. Another important note: in the specific case of reading, we’re talking about novels and essays, where a budget e-ink device works perfectly too. We don't need an expensive device like the BOOX. And, important, when it comes to reading manuals, the screen size of the BOOX Note Air 4C and other e-ink devices is absolutely unsuitable. I say this because I purchased two BOOX Note Air devices, the first in black and white and the second in color, and repeatedly tried to use them, hoping for longer battery life, a better reading and writing experience, or greater convenience. But every time, I had to give up.
Anither advantage of e ink readers is writing feel ! No way does ipad match the writing experience of e ink readers. Specifically black and white e readers have the best writing feel Secondly another advantage is battery life !! No way is ipad with its vivid display going to match e ink readers battery life of weeks Lastly specific to boox you can edit and annotate pdfs or ebooks without any additional software, same is available in remarkable but it comes with subscription fee. Conclusion: your comparison is absurd. It all depends on use case. When your use case means you need ipad/other vivid tablets you cant critique boox tablet here Cheers !
What do you look for most in an e-ink tablet? Drop your opinion below!
I look forward to an e-reader without ghosting, with a large battery capacity and good portability
Great review. How does the battery life of the 4C compare with a non-backlight device like the Go10.3?
Hey Bernard, unfortunately I don't have Go 10.3 to compare. I'm still testing the battery to share more solid stats/life expectations of this device.

If had white margins and Carta 1300 would be perfect! I dont know if it can be connected to Bluetooth keyboard?
Check out Boox Go 10.3 with Carta 1200. Yes, both allow for keyboard connection.
@howtotechstuff but it's not colour!

I just wished they made a white air 4c
Does anyone know if you can connect it to an external screen with a USB-C cable?
Lol why the hell would you buy this thing for that? Buy a regular tablet.
What about the stylus tech? Is it Wacom?
Can you type texts on PDF files on the Boox devices?
Great review..I think I will get one...Do you know if you can install Grammarly ?

You should worry about mark
Are you saying a random Chinese company can override the us tech censor? Then you should be worried about more than just privacy of your ebook.
Can you write in Farsi?

getting ready to buy it
Great review! Is there there a keyboard for it ?
You can connect any third-party keyboard via Bluetooth. Boox doesn't have a keyboard for Air 4C so you'd need to look for third-party solutions.
And the battery? The 3c had a very quick bad battery…
Hi , thanks for the video, I have a question:- I do deep studies in the Bible so would I be able to download books like commentary’s, Bible dictionary etc?
Returned my Scribe yesterday, cant wait for my refund so i can buy this instead!
Also, as a Student I very much appreciate your mentioning how it could be useful for us, thank you 😊
I found the UX of Boox devices abysmal. Nested menus, toolbars and icons all over the place. I didn't enjoy using their devices at all.
