Angelina is the most disciplined young artist I know. But she is never satisfied with her current state. There was a lot of back and forth with her fans at these recent concerts in Norway. Many said it was the most magical experience of their lives, and they had already lived a long time. And Angelina was very candid, emotional, and perhaps most important, truly grateful that they were there to support and encourage her. One thing that really stood out to me was when she said that being there, with all the incredible support from the audience/fans, made her want to work harder to get better and better. Angelina really in the groove here, the musicians she had in 2018-19 concerts. I spoke to the musicians after the concert, they would like to be able to play for Angelina next year, but the feel that Angelina is on such a high that they won't be able to reach that level, personally, I think they would be ideal - they just have to bring out their A level performance.
I would encourage them to keep shooting for the stars too… if they hold their vision of playing with Angelina any time at all, then that will inspire them and just the magic of Angelina’s love of music bring out the best in people.

As you know this girl has been practicing since she was a toddler, Angelina has used this band since she was 8 or 9 so they are very familiar with each other (they have fun playing together and it shows) most people don’t realize that Angelina has had a full time job singing since she won Norway’s got talent at 8 years old, all they see is the finished product and don’t see the hours of practice she has to put in to achieve where she’s at. They tend to overlook the fact that Angelina is a seasoned singer at 16 who has performed all over the world in concerts and shows. Of the 3 concerts she performed in Norway recently July 7,8, and 10 she sang over 40 songs 21 different titles. You might want to check out her other performances at these concerts, her voice has grown as well as her confidence on stage ( in terms of interacting with the audience) . Yes Angelina is barefoot as usual in all performances.

I've seen a lot of singers who get some success as young adults and stop improving. Angelina got discovered at such a young age as has constantly worked to get better for more years than most adult singers even though she is so young still. Seldom do I hear a famous singer put out a new album and I think that it was better than their last, more often they seem to decline rather than improve. Angelina seems to add something new to her performances each and every time I hear her.
Absolutely agree. I was at the 2 last concerts. After the first one I thought that was the perfect concert imaginable, impossible to improve. Then comes the last concert and she is 20% better.
One thing no one is talking about is SHE arranges this music , have listened to at least 50 versions of this song but never liked this , music just seems to live in her it just something magical

The thing that most amazes me about Angelina is that with every song she sings she has her own vision of that piece that makes it hers. Her work shows the depth of this vision. For me she is incomparable.

Between the end of June 22nd and July 10th Angelina gave 4 concerts in Norway and it was absolutely fascinating, after more than 2 years of hiatus and the fantastic band of great musicians is the one that followed her through years of rehearsals and performances before of his departure for the United States. I also think it was very nice for them to be able to find themselves playing with this new Angelina, who has grown and improved, they were all very close-knit in the 3 concerts they did in those weeks. There are dozens of videos from those gigs, some even with great sound and all the songs she chose were amazing. I loved all of her thrilling performances of her while I was in the audience. 💛🧡❤️
One of the very best concert experiences of my life. Angelina was out of this world, yet grounded in that fabulous band. Intheir third outing featured here, they were confident enough together to loosen up and have fun literally without missing a beat. For an example, hear how they let go at 4:30, yet all land EXACTLY on the beat five seconds later.

First, the great trumpeter Doc Severinsen (leader of band on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) once said, "There is no substitute for practice. No matter how good you think you play, there is always someone who plays better than you." As someone else said, I would love to see Angelina connect with both contemporary musicians ,also at the top of their particular musical venue, Alma Deutscher and Amira Willigham .. what a concert that would be! They are all within a couple of years of each other and what a delightful mutually inspiring friendship they could have all three together… each one with the same pure joy and love of music, each one caring deep in their souls to bring beauty into the world.
Great review as usual - you might like to check out the playlist by Mattias Axelsson - much better sound and visuals. I got to watch her do a 30 minute sound check before the show. You are right about the band being in tune with her - the guitarist looks straight at her the whole time. Even then, she sang some of the songs differently from the sound check. She did I have nothing twice, then parts of it - chatting to the band and changing things. Still did it a bit differently in the show.
Thank you for this suggestion. I've actually NOT been enjoying these fan-made cell phone videos with poor sound quality and, sometimes, from less-than-favorable camera angles. Maybe Mattias Axelsson can rekindle my enthusiasm for Angelina.
@@muchkneaded Another good quality recording is vidar enerud. He was standing further back from the stage so probably got better sound balance from the speakers. Professional gear was not allowed at the concert although there was some being used on stage, so maybe AJ's family will release a version in the future. Vidar was using a good quality stereo microphone.

They are always technically precise and "elegantly" exposed and, aside from all the other Angelina's "talents", she is ELEGANCE personified. She is Regal. I dare say she is Royalty. In your comment to the introduction of the song that you defined "free time" and added the notion that it's up to the accompanist to keep up the pace with all the variations she does. I'm with you 100% on this. Usually it's the singer who's keen in staying in time with the band. With Angelina it's the other way around. I've seen many videos titled "She's the Boss". We've all seen this toddler stand in the middle of a recording studio giving directions to adult musicians. I remember a funny video (it was a rehearsal of I don't remember which song) where she argued with the pianist and in the end she shoved him off the piano and showed him how she wanted the song to be played.

I have commented, hoping both Angelina and Alma would meet each other because they have such parallels in their lives, are at the top of their musical venues, are only a year apart, and I think would be great friends as Amira and Alma already have been since they were so young. Yes, the hard work shows in her. She's usually got a new skill to demonstrate when she puts out a cover track alone, eg walking around with her cellphone. She's recording herself applying a new technique or an improvement she's decided she needs to a technique. The fun part for us listeners often is deciding why she's recorded a particular piece, what is she working on here? We could make a parlour game of it. I just made a mistake. This song that I know that was sung by Roberta Fleck, I want to see her beforehand as well. I always liked hearing Roberta. But now? Roberta, sorry, you have found your match and her name is Angelina Jordan. There are definitely some who prefer Roberta, which is OK, but Angelina interpreted this song better, in my opinion!
It´s because cell phone recordings are never good, especially when the sound is so loud, and you stand right infront of the stage. The sound quality was excellent for us who were at this concert. And like Steve said; try listening to the recordings of Mattias Axelsson, his videos has the best quality of the recordings I´ve seen.

This is her old band---they've played for her as she's grown. Other respondents can give the exact details. So glad to have you on with Angelina again.
They are awesome and it’s so great that they have stayed together as much as possible over the years.
Angelina really in the groove here, the musicians she had in 2018-19 concerts. I spoke to the musicians after the concert, they would like to be able to play for Angelina next year, but the feel that Angelina is on such a high that they won't be able to reach that level, personally, I think they would be ideal - they just have to bring out their A level performance.
I would encourage them to keep shooting for the stars too… if they hold their vision of playing with Angelina any time at all, then that will inspire them and just the magic of Angelina’s love of music bring out the best in people.

Great reaction . As you know this girl has been practicing since she was a toddler, Angelina has used this band since she was 8 or 9 so they are very familiar with each other (they have fun playing together and it shows) most people don’t realize that Angelina has had a full time job singing since she won Norway’s got talent at 8 years old, all they see is the finished product and don’t see the hours of practice she has to put in to achieve where she’s at. They tend to overlook the fact that Angelina is a seasoned singer at 16 who has performed all over the world in concerts and shows. Of the 3 concerts she performed in Norway recently July 7,8, and 10 she sang over 40 songs 21 different titles. You might want to check out her other performances at these concerts, her voice has grown as well as her confidence on stage ( in terms of interacting with the audience) . Yes Angelina is barefoot as usual in all performances.

I've seen a lot of singers who get some success as young adults and stop improving. Angelina got discovered at such a young age as has constantly worked to get better for more years than most adult singers even though she is so young still. Seldom do I hear a famous singer put out a new album and I think that it was better than their last, more often they seem to decline rather than improve. Angelina seems to add something new to her performances each and every time I hear her.
Absolutely agree. I was at the 2 last concerts. After the first one I thought that was the perfect concert imaginable, impossible to improve. Then comes the last concert and she is 20% better.
One thing no one is talking about is SHE arranges this music , have listened to at least 50 versions of this song but never liked this , music just seems to live in her it just something magical

The thing that most amazes me about Angelina is that with every song she sings she has her own vision of that piece that makes it hers. Her work shows the depth of this vision. For me she is incomparable.

Another great analysis / reaction, thanks Valerie. Between the end of June 22nd and July 10th Angelina gave 4 concerts in Norway and it was absolutely fascinating, after more than 2 years of hiatus and the fantastic band of great musicians is the one that followed her through years of rehearsals and performances before of his departure for the United States. I also think it was very nice for them to be able to find themselves playing with this new Angelina, who has grown and improved, they were all very close-knit in the 3 concerts they did in those weeks. There are dozens of videos from those gigs, some even with great sound and all the songs she chose were amazing. I loved all of her thrilling performances of her while I was in the audience. 💛🧡❤️

Intheir third outing featured here, they were confident enough together to loosen up and have fun literally without missing a beat. For an example, hear how they let go at 4:30, yet all land EXACTLY on the beat five seconds later.

First, the great trumpeter Doc Severinsen (leader of band on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) once said, "There is no substitute for practice. No matter how good you think you play, there is always someone who plays better than you." Also, famed comedian Jack Benny, who often played violin during his comedy acts, was once asked by an interviewer, "What advice do you have for young violinists?" Jack replied, "You have to practice even to be bad!"

Angelina is a hard working professional who spends many hours practicing. However, what I also love about her is that she fearlessly experiments and tries out different genres, tones, modes, styles and more. She does not stay within a comfort zone, just polishing what she does well. Rather, she goes boldly where no girl has gone before. This creative exploration builds what is eventually uniquely Angelina.

Great review as usual - you might like to check out the playlist by Mattias Axelsson - much better sound and visuals. I got to watch her do a 30 minute sound check before the show. You are right about the band being in tune with her - the guitarist looks straight at her the whole time. Even then, she sang some of the songs differently from the sound check. She did I have nothing twice, then parts of it - chatting to the band and changing things. Still did it a bit differently in the show.
Thank you for this suggestion. I've actually NOT been enjoying these fan-made cell phone videos with poor sound quality and, sometimes, from less-than-favorable camera angles. Maybe Mattias Axelsson can rekindle my enthusiasm for Angelina.
@@muchkneaded Another good quality recording is vidar enerud. He was standing further back from the stage so probably got better sound balance from the speakers. Professional gear was not allowed at the concert although there was some being used on stage, so maybe AJ's family will release a version in the future.
Vidar was using a good quality stereo microphone.

I've been following you for quite a while and today I've decided to give you my subscription. I like your style and your comments. They are always technically precise and "elegantly" exposed and, aside from all the other Angelina's "talents", she is ELEGANCE personified. She is Regal. I dare say she is Royalty. In your comment to the introduction of the song that you defined "free time" and added the notion that it's up to the accompanist to keep up the pace with all the variations she does. I'm with you 100% on this. Usually it's the singer who's keen in staying in time with the band. With Angelina it's the other way around. I've seen many videos titled "She's the Boss". We've all seen this toddler stand in the middle of a recording studio giving directions to adult musicians. I remember a funny video (it was a rehearsal of I don't remember which song) where she argued with the pianist and in the end she shoved him off the piano and showed him how she wanted the song to be played.

I have commented, hoping both Angelina and Alma would meet each other because they have such parallels in their lives, are at the top of their musical venues, are only a year apart, and I think would be great friends as Amira and Alma already have been since they were so young.

Yes, the hard work shows in her. She's usually got a new skill to demonstrate when she puts out a cover track alone, eg walking around with her cellphone. She's recording herself applying a new technique or an improvement she's decided she needs to a technique.
The fun part for us listeners often is deciding why she's recorded a particular piece, what is she working on here?

You've chosen a video with poor audio that doesn't do this Angelina performance justice. I advise you for the next reactions to use the videos made by Mattias Axelsson, of much higher sound quality.
Unfortunately you reacted to not a great recording of July 10th concert. It is from the right side of the stage and has way too much guitar and drums that drown out Angelina too much. The two best recording are by Mattias Axelsson from the left size of the stage and Vidar Enerud who has a superior recording of July 10, 2022 Kurbadhagen concert performances from the center of the stage for best angle for Angelina's vocals plus entire band in a balanced format. Used 2.5x telephoto lens on iPhone 12 Pro Max (this lens is optical and not digital zoom). Used audio recorder Zoom F1 with good stereo microphone. Recorded entire concert of 18 songs including much of the between songs talking Angelina did with audience. A few glitches with video. Audio fine. Set list in order performed in concert:

While this is a good recording, the best recordings from this concert were by Mattius Axelsson, and posted on his TH-cam channel.
I just made a mistake. This song that I know that was sung by Roberta Fleck, I want to see her beforehand as well. I always liked hearing Roberta. But now? Roberta, sorry, you have found your match and her name is Angelina Jordan. There are definitely some who prefer Roberta, which is OK, but Angelina interpreted this song better, in my opinion!

It´s because cell phone recordings are never good, especially when the sound is so loud, and you stand right infront of the stage. The sound quality was excellent for us who were at this concert. And like Steve said; try listening to the recordings of Mattias Axelsson, his videos has the best quality of the recordings I´ve seen.
