Jesse thanks for another wonderful reaction and analysis to our barefoot princess. I now make sure to watch 2 videos per day in their entirety, from either Angelina's Official or Cover channel. I ensure the like button is engaged and I post a new comment, read other comments and click the like for the ones I enjoy and sometimes reply to comments. This is the most direct way any angel can support Angelina on TH-cam. If enough angels do the same, then TH-cam will recommend her to millions more. Still allows plenty of time to watch your favorite reactors, hopefully the ones who have taken the time, like Jesse, to learn a few things about her.
Thanks for this, Andy🙏 first for your kind words about the reaction! This was a fun grouping. And secondly, I love to see these behaviours! I hope you don’t mind me pinning this. I’m hoping we can help channels like mine get a bit more freedoms when it comes to reacting, but that won’t be achieved without cooperation 🙏
I agree with your analysis of the change the orchestra made. Interesting to watch you count it out. Your reactions are always so informed, since you appreciate the nuances of Angelina's musicality. Thanks!
Another reactor, who spoke Norwegian, described the scene as Angelina suggested a certain way of sing the piece and the band master basically telling the troops that they're just going to follow Angelina's lead.
As I hear it. One if the guys in front says " she is singing fantastic, can't we just follow her" pretty awesome for someone playing clarinet for years probably, just thinking, ok she knows what she is doing. I'll just follow and it will be great😊
The incomparable, impeccable, Angelina and her magical voice. Doesn't matter how many thousands of times I've heard her sing, first of all it will never be enough and I will never tire of that voice. Very much appreciate your reactions sir, thumbs up.
About Speak sofly love. The result is on the Album "It's Magic" with Angelina Jordan and the Norwegian armed forces as track 15. It is on Spotify and more.
This is the brassband from the Norwegian army so this are really good musicians. They have done several things together with Angelina since she has won Norway Got Talent. She really is a Norwegian treasure. And here it is all about what Angelina is asking them to do: she is in charge here...
In Killing Me Softly, once the drum starts up, Angelina is doing this crazy thing where she is swerving her voice all over the place, and yet somehow at the same time also driving a strong rhythm. I don't know of anyone else who can do that like that.
While I was filming this, I was amazed at how good killing me softly was. Great use of negative space, great combination of the Roberta flack style with the Fugees/Lauren Hill style, nice and LONG, and, those vocals!
What a awesome triple play and reaction . Thanks. Love the Kongsberg concert. In the 1st one (rehearsal) Angie was 12 and that was for her 2018 concert with the military band. It was really nice performance on stage where everything was worked out (she wore white). Now later that year for her (I think it was her 2018 Christmas) Concert she redid this song with her small stage band & it was very different and beautiful (she wore red). Please react to that. You'll really love it. ❤👍👌
The House of the Rising Sun......the first song to ever cross lines to become Folk Rock that hit the #1 Billboard Charts first in England, then 2 months later in the USA by Eric Burdon and The Animals in 1964.. It became their signature song......although it was done on Bob Dylan's original debut album off the same arrangement......but not on electric guitar. The song is of unknown origin, but has been documented as being sung in the USA as folk music all the way back to the 1860s. I'm a subscriber from Texas and like your Reaction Channel......keep it going.
The band has been her original band since she was 8 years old while she was living in Norway, so she is very comfortable with the them. Blessings from South Africa
I love that she’s had a band, orchestras, and guitar accompaniment since she’s been doing this. She’s a shining example of how supporting your artists benefits everyone
It's just that this the Norwegian military combined band. It's not "her" band in any sense of the word. Also she is eleven when she starts working with this group and 12 at the time of the concert and release of the album. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Where they’re at the concert hall it’s about 10,000 people preparing for concert tonight you’re going to get up they bring everything in the back doors out front concert hall Rollin Rollin Rollin to see the balcony there in Oslo Norway
Thanks for another double song reaction for Angelina Jordan. I really think your breakdowns are the best of all of the reactors. I do not know much about the band, stage and sound setups and I find that to be very informative. Keep up the great work and if you can try to react to Angelina's FIFA Awards 2022 show performance. The song was pretty cheesy but it was more about getting her on stage in front of a HUGE worldwide TV audience. She nailed the song as usual and looked like a supermodel on stage. Worldwide viewers are said to be over 300 million. That number sounds crazy and I cannot verify it myself. Considering the World Cup final had 1.5 billion viewers I would not be surprised at a 300+ million audience for the awards show. Anyway, it is a monster moment in time for her singing to that many people worldwide. A dream opportunity for any performer!
Killing me Softly….this is the most raw and raunchy version that I’ve heard. I think she’s not just singing the song, she’s taken on a persona like she’s acting out a role in a movie. Definitely seems to me like she has a character and an occasion in her mind when she’s singing this. There are some rough edges she’s putting in there on purpose. It’s very cool what she’s doing.
Some additional information about the first video here: This rehearsal was (not surprisingly) from just before she recorded her _It's Magic_ album with this band (FSMK, for short) in late November 2017 (so the rehearsal was probably from earlier in the same month). There are 4 other similar videos on her Fanclub Mosarz channel (where this one came from) from the same pre-album rehearsals, and 10 more recorded in the same venue about 7 months later, when they were preparing for the "CD release concert" the following June. The album itself was, of course, recorded in a "proper studio" called Rainbow Studio (and there are Mosarz videos from those sessions, as well), but this rehearsal space is called Ridehuset [The Riding House]. It was built in 1824 to house the royal riding stables and later repurposed as a rehearsal and performance space for Riksteateret [The National Theatre]. It was refurbished in 2007, with improved acoustics, for use as a rehearsal space for FSMK.
Likely a military base . the band is " forsvarets stabsmusikkorps " a Norwegian military staff band , rehearsal for the album " it's magic " recorded November 2017 .
I loved this analysis! The roots of "House..." go 'way back (the words "New Orleans" are recent). The true origin isn't completely clear, but probably from Old England (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_House_of_the_Rising_Sun). Of course, the Animals made it famous more recently. 👍🏼👍🏼
I spoke to some singers having the lyrics at hand saying something like 'I know the lyrics by heart, but you know you never know and then it is nice to have them right there'
@@pietersbart my previous band had big time issues over me and lyrics. I could sing any one of our 50+ songs at the drop of a time with the radio or at home, but the moment I stepped to rehearsal it was like a blank slate. Absolutely, it is a collaboration, and the conductor breaks away to get her input. I feel as though “correcting” was placed for shock-value to attract more viewers.
@@rogercarriere4756 The rehearsal & recording of the album. "It's Magic" was in Nov 2017, so she was still 11. Two months later, on her 12th Birthday, the band invited her back & surprised her by playing "Happy Birthday."

Regarding your comment about AJ's band mates lugging around the Rhodes. She's a milionaire signed with Republic. The heaviest things they lug around are cell phones. 😊
FWIW, when the conductor comes up close to the camera and writes on the score, he is simply speaking the lyrics that come just before the crescendos you were talking about. As he writes, he says, "when we are one". I guess either the words were wrong on the score or they were in the wrong place relative to the music.
Speak Softly Love on her album, It's Magic, is absolutely magnificent! In fact, it was the reason I fell in love with Angelina's voice, hook, line and sinker. The word 'beautiful' does not capture the richness, subtlety, passion, vulnerability and more just in the opening lines. As for who first sang House of the Rising Sun? That's an interesting question. The earliest version I know of is by Roscoe Holcomb, and it's all on one chord. Woody Guthrie sang another version, then Dave van Ronk was about to record his version when Bob Dylan pipped him to the post for his 1962 debut album (van Ronk says Dylan "stole" his version, but Bob's is different). Then The Animals picked it up from Dylan and made it a smash hit in 1964. Then everybody sang it. Did you like the way Angelina pronounced 'sewed' as 'sood'? Understandable, of course, but I wonder why no one ever corrects her occasional mispronunciations.
