- Tired of waiting days for a weapon or outfit to finish crafting in Fallout Shelter? In this episode of Vault Log I show you how to reduce your crafting times by optimizing your crafting rooms. The example in the video reduces one outfits crafting time from 13 days to 4 hours.

Yeah, 13 days or potentially 4hours. The best I can get with an optimal setup is 2 days. I need some good pets.

I used Sony Vegas to edit the clip, and the hand was chroma keyed in. The logo was designed in Photoshop.

Setting your date forward is quicker
I see you also got the +16 Rackie Jobinsons Jersey. When I did that quest I thought something like ""Why would I equip three dwellers with normal baseball uniforms just to get another one" and then jaw dropped when I saw the +4x4 stats it had.
Another crafting tip: As the quests prefer / improve dwellrs with high Perception it would be best to craft the +7 P Heavy vault suit. Havent verified it, but I believe in ti :)
Ya, that Rackie Jobinson jersey is pretty sweet! Perception does come in handy if you're having trouble landing the critical hits on quests, but I've been able to land the x5 at least 80% of the time without any +P gear. I personally prefer the Expert Jumpsuit(A+7), but over the coming days I'll be testing out more combos and then present the findings in a video.

can you please show us your entire vault and the layout? Also, how did you change your vault from having the low level rooms (power generator, water plant, diner) to only having nuclear generators and nuka cola plants? To all the people like me who are at this stage of transformation, could you please show us how to do it?

You need to have certain amount of dwellers to buy the room. The nuclear generator and Nuka Cola plant are more efficient (giving you more resources than regular rooms).

I recently started playing fallout shelter and i was pretty much a noob till i saw one your videos, and then before i knew it i watched your entire playlist, you've helped me so much man in this game, but i have a question, how many super reactors should i have when i've reached the maximum room capacity?

Thank you so much. I didn't realize how drastic it could be. Though I thought that even with equipment the dweller stats maxed out at 12 (i.e. lvl 10 stat + a "+7" outfit still caps at 12) am I wrong? Have I been screwing up?

I am fairly new to the game, and I was still confused about how stats work. If I have level 1 strength for example, level up that person to 20, and then train that strength level to 10, would they have the same stats as someone who starts with level 10 strength and gets to level 20?

I just learned that stats over 10 still are helpful. Is this true in other areas of the game as well such as out in the wastelands? if I had a guy with a SPECIAL stat of 10, I never added gear to get it above 10 as the game graphic does not show any improvement but this example shows that gear that takes a stat over 10 does help, at least in this case.
It most certainly helps, you cannot max out a dwellers health unless they are wearing heavy wasteland gear, which provides +7 endurance

Explosive Penguins Don't rush your vault is the best tip out there. If you rush your vault you Will end up with a bad vault

Rushing isn't a bad idea, but you need weapons for your dweller's in the first place. Rushing is very helpful, becuase it gives you more caps, XP, and resources, however, it's best not to do that in the long run.
I rushed up to 100 to unlock everything then killed over half of them to get something manageable. I plan to kill off 30 more soon when their replacements are trained. Its working great so far. Nuka-cola rooms are so much more effective.
Does having move crafting pets in the vault/room reduce the time as well ?
How much time and caps do you spend
does this still apply? it tells me endurance helps and it does bring the timer down but i’ve only tried it on a weapon workshop.

Actually I just realised you responded in another post of mine, and mentioned to get a Dragon Maw, you need to craft it. I do have the Blueprint, but it's been what feels like a year looking for the materials and still don't have the correct materials lol.
G McLeod Legendary materials can be pretty hard to collect in early and mid game. Your best bet is to keep sending dwellers into the wasteland and on quests. It may take a while, but it'll be worth it. :)
G McLeod have dwellers go into the wasteland with a lot of Luck atributted outfit and pets. Or a lot of Strenght and the best weapon you have, ore strenght will give you more time in the wasteland, meaning youll go further in to the wastelamd searching for stuff, strenght makes a factor on the average dmg dealt with melee weapons and hoe mucj stuff you can carry, Luck is how often you find rare or legendary stuff.
Any missions where I can find heavy wasteland gear and/or its blueprints? I’ve been playing for about two weeks. Everyday 25 dwellers roam the wasteland in the search of this particular blueprint, plus 3 teams completing different overseer’s missions. And still no luck. By this point I’m starting to feel desperate and hopeless. I have eight 1 level dwellers with maxed special, who are about to hit level 2 because of mole rat attacks, while I keep them in storage rooms.

does the extra stat from the outfit affect the lets say food generating rooms? if i have equiped the dwellers with the coresponding stat out fit
Yes, outfit stats that correspond with a resource room's stat will reduce the amount of time it takes for resource production in that room.

I know it's been a minute since you've done Fallout Shelter stuff, but I have a question for you. I have a "hacked" file that I play from that gives me more or less unlimited lunchboxes. With that I've come across hundreds of outfits, pieces of junk, and weapons that I've just sold because I have no use for them. Before watching this video, I was EXTREMELY discouraged after finding the recipe for a Hardened Fat Man and finding out it would take damn near two weeks to craft. Being ignorant of what I could do to reduce that, I scrapped the entire room in favor of trying my luck getting what I want through the lunchboxes. Since I have all of these lunchboxes and it takes so long to craft something, I gave up on the idea of doing that entirely. Should I revisit crafting and go that route or should I stick with the lunchboxes in hopes of finding legendary items? Is crafting really worth the trouble?

Nope, the pet with the highest value will be the one that's factored into the equation.
Pressing X that's wrong, they kind of stack. A 40% pet + 27% pet will make it 53 or so

Adam Hruška Yup, a dweller's SPECIAL stats can go beyond 10 if you have them maxed out and equipped with gear. :)

TheDuckWithNoName _ I built my vault from scratch. A save editor can drastically speed up build time. Save editing is covered in episode 14 of the series. :)
Man i need your help!
Every time i assign people to the weapon workshop, their happiness stats drop drastically,
and they complain about a corpse in the room, and it makes me unable to craft weapons, what is going on?
+TheOmegaRing Is there a dead dweller in the room? One way to check is to bring up your vault roster and search for any dead dwellers. You'll want to revive dwellers as soon as they die.
The problem was that i revived a dead dweller, but the other dwellers didnt consider him alive,
so i had to kill him again and revive him with other dwellers present in the same room
Why can't I craft legendary weapons? It's all gray
It means you haven't found the blueprint for the weapon or you don't have the required resources to craft it. Blueprints can be found in the wasteland and during quests.

Jiff Pop of course it is, but best thing to do is sending dwellers on both in my opinion
I haven't seen any quest rewards I actually want. Do you have to complete worthless stuff for good options to replace them? I built my Overseers Office quite late and already have alot of legendary equipment.
