Make sure you follow this video precisely and update your firmware from the link that is provided in the analogue docs, NOT by going directly to 8bitdo's support page.
for anyone wondering, the 6 button 8bitdo controllers like the m30 arent fully compatible with the duo the 6 face buttons arent all enabled. X, Y (top row) are enabled, Z is disabled A, B (bottom row) are enabled, C is disabled L and R bumpers are enabled .I bought the M30 for street fighter 2 and you cannot bind Z, and C buttons
I am hoping for a firmware update to the controller, or the option to remap the buttons to be added to the OS. I also bought 2 m30s to play Street Fighter :)
Stuck at 5. Won't recognize it on my PC. Used 2 different cables. Yes, the lights are flashing as in step 3. When i plug it in, both lights go solid but no USB recognition. No go for me. :(
It is possible that the cables you are using are not data cables. You should try the cables on a known working device, to be 100% sure. Find one that, for sure, supports data transfer.
I did not do any of this and everything is working perfecly??? Out of the box it was working perfectly , then I updated the firmware of the Ananlog Duo and everything still works.
Thanks for the feedback! I made a video comparing the controllers 'out of the box' vs flashing the firmware. Certainly for 4 players, you need to flash some of the controllers. Check out my other video, and let me know what you think: th-cam.com/video/bZkpG0mvVkc/w-d-xo.html
For playing on the Duo, it is this one: download.8bitdo.com/Firmware/analogue/Dock/2.4g/PCE_Fw_V5_00_For_Analogue.zip I don't think the version number matters as much as getting it from the correct location. Currently version 5.00 at the time of this comment.
@@retropint i try this firmware v5 on my 8bitdo PCE, it work perfectly with my analogue duo but when my analogue duo is off, I plug my controller on micro-usb to charging, the analogue duo wake up and switch on automatically 😡😡😡 I must disconnect usb-c from the console when i charge my PCE controller 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I tried this, and I experience the same thing. On top of that, there is no longer a light indicating that the controller is charging. So we can't tell when it is finished. It does charge, though.
@@retropint indeed, the charging indicator is no longer indicated. I'm charging my controller but I don't know when it will be fully charged. Too bad 😞
I tried doing the MacOS via terminal and it bricked my PCE controller. No yellow blue or red LED any longer won't show as a USB or work at all. Very disappointed in this process. Now I have no way to play the Duo.
Bought two of these controllers brand new and neither wants to be recognized by my PC using either cables that came with it. You can hear it being recognized but no menus or anything pop up. The very fact I bought two of them brand new and not one of them works properly with the Duo, which is temperamental all by itself, leads me to believe this product by Analogue as well as this 8bitdo line of controllers are expensive hot garbage.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with the controllers! When the controllers are connected to your PC, you can use a game pad testing application to see if they work, through the browser, like this one: hardwaretester.com/gamepad That should let you test them. I just tried it with both the included USB cable, and the included USB dongle. It was detected by the gamepad tester in both cases. After you test if they work, and they do, you can either follow the steps I outlined in the video to flash the firmware on them for the Duo, or instead just use the included dongle plugging it into the back of the Duo. Good luck!

Thank you. Merci.

thank you for your video. But what is the good firmware to play the PCE 8bitDo with Analogue Duo Console ? v5 or v4 ? Thanks a lot

So what‘s the advantage of not using it with the USB-dongle with the Duo?
I mean, you can use it with the dongle or use the duo's internal 2.4ghz radio and put the dongle in the box and never have to use it again
I made a video comparing the features between the two options, please have a watch!

Crud, I'm sorry to hear that! I don't have a MacBook Pro anymore, so I can't try it myself to help :(

Damn, followed this & now my controller won’t even turn on 😮
Oh no! Obvious question: you're sure it is charged up, right?
I haven't had any controller end up unresponsive. I've tried all kinds of crazy things. I was always able to re-flash it after a mistake.
