Perfect 6 Button Config for Street Fighter 2 on Analogue Pocket and Duo - 8BitDo - PC Engine - TG16
I configure the 8BitDo Arcade Stick with the 8BitDo Ultimate software, using button mapping, for the perfect 6 button configuration for the PC Engine version of Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition. Once configured, no changes to the button configuration in the game itself are needed.
This is running great on the Analogue Pocket and the Analogue Duo.

Analogue Pocket - Atari Lynx - Rampage - High Score over 2 million - Deathless Run
มุมมอง 667 หลายเดือนก่อน
A deathless full playthrough of Rampage for the Atari Lynx on the Analogue Pocket. This is a casual longplay of the classic handheld arcade port of Rampage for the Atari Lynx. I play this on an original cartridge using the Lynx Adapter, part of the Analogue Pocket Adapter Set. This version has a fourth monster, who doesn't appear in any other version of Rampage. So I played good 'ol Larry. This...

Damn, followed this & now my controller won’t even turn on 😮
Oh no! Obvious question: you're sure it is charged up, right?
I haven't had any controller end up unresponsive. I've tried all kinds of crazy things. I was always able to re-flash it after a mistake.
Easier idea: find a way to play a Sega Master System version of this game. You know, without the screen crunch.
I'm not sure that would be easier! :D I am unfamiliar with that version, how close are they?
Stupid question. Would the retrobit Saturn usb controller work for a good 6 button alternative? Granted it’s wired but still.
I don't have one of those, so I can't try it. HOWEVER! In some kind of weird twist of fate: I did just recently buy 2 of the Retrobit 2.4ghz wireless Saturn controllers. They come with both a USB and Saturn wireless dongle. I bought them for my Saturn. I will certainly try them and let you know if those ones work! I also have a couple 8Bitdo NeoGeo controllers coming tomorrow. So many tests to do! :D
@@retropint Thank you!
Question did you have to unzip the firmware into the micro SD card or just copying it into the micro SD is all you need because it didn't work for mine
Hey, so for sure the file is not zipped, it is a .bin file. But you're making me wonder how you are doing it, because the file is not zipped when you download it from the Analogue Support page. It comes directly as a .bin file. So I am concerned that you are doing something else that is making the process not work. Feel free to reply with some more details, and I'll try my best to help!
What controller do you have to buy to be able to play Street Fighter correctly?
I got the perfect setup working with the 8bitdo Arcade Stick. Check out my video showing it working, and how to configure it: th-cam.com/video/haH4DlQW-Rs/w-d-xo.html
It worked. Thanks a lot : )
Glad I could help!
Awesome tip! Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Excellent video!
Thanks!
Super helpful video thank you. Did you ever figure out how to get the supergrafx images work?
I have not tried. I wonder if the effort is just to find an updated image set. Perhaps I'll look into it, soon!
New ninja golf and cx78+ controller awesome 1:42:50
I was certainly having some issues controlling the character. I think with the thumbpad extension screwed into the controller, I was accidentally pressing up slightly, which stops the character from walking. It's better without the attachment, at least for me. Thanks for watching!
@@retropint awesome
what a great game Electrocop is ! I loved it.
It was a favourite of mine, as a kid! I will beat it some day! :D
I was thinking of how to add the box arts one by one but this video helped a lot!
Glad I could help!
Does both the TGFX & PCE Turbo 'Mini console' wired USB controllers work now with the Duo? I read that there was a firmware update that does in fact support them(Then again, I've heard people still have been having issues with comptability), and that they just under 2ms of latency, where as using either the 8BitDo PCE 2.4g or TG 2.4g wireless controller will have around 7ms. Also, supposedly you can connect something like a 10ft mini micro USB A cable from your 8BitDo TG 2.4g controller and connect it to the Duo's USB for just under 2ms of latency as well. Options Options! :P
I don't have a way to measure the latency myself, but I have also read that the USB wired controllers are the lowest latency option. Next time I sit down and test controllers, I will be sure to focus some more on wired controllers. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this. But it must be another way ? How do I add my own images on my Analogue Duo ? Did Analogue provide any help somewhere ?
There is a way to do it, and Analogue provides some guidelines... I think in the manual? The people who made the zip file of images I shared wrote a program to create the images. So it is definitely doable. It's just not completely straight forward. I tried using images formatted for the Pocket on the Duo, and although it did display something, the images were quite messed up (rotated and skewed).
@@retropint thank you, I used it, and it's good enough for me, almost all my games are in it
There's no library or image folder in the system file on the analogue pocket sd card, even unhidden. I have all latest firmware installed. So none of this works.
If you check out my video where I update the library images for the consoles supported by the Pocket Adapter Set, you can see the folder structure of the SD Card for the Pocket. I wonder if that video can help you. th-cam.com/video/GAM5z07N_F4/w-d-xo.html
You have to add all that yourself dude...
@@theseriousaccount Interestingly, I am pretty sure the folders are created automatically by the console.
@@retropint not the ones for the library images.
thanks! My game gear adapter worked, but the kit of 3 NGP, Lynx, PC Engine adapters is not working. Did you download it from this link in the video description?
That's right. You need an updated firmware for the adapters to work. The link in the video description is the place to get the latest version of the firmware, so you should be good to go. Let me know how it goes!
I’ve been waiting so patiently for the duo bugs to get ironed out and this SF2 + mapping cleanly with m30 2.4ghz issue is the last big one for me. We are soooo close 😵💫
All they need to do is enable us to remap the buttons, and then we'd be good. So close, indeed!
Hello, have you tested if the everdrive pro turbo works with the adapter? Thank you
Hey, I don't have any of the everdrives, so I have no tried any. From what I have read from others: The Turbo Everdrive Pro does work, but it has problems fitting into the cartridge slot. Some people remove the plastic shield on top, and then it fits. Others have bought a cartridge extender, and then it works. There is apparently an issue with Save States and the Everdrive, too.
Hello, I have the pc engine mini and the 8bitdo controller for pc engine. I currently have the controller with the official firmware. I'm about to buy the analogue duo, if I want the controller to work on both consoles, how should I do? Because I understand if I update the firmware for analogue, then it won't work with the USB dongle, right? I wonder if the USB dongle that includes the controller would work with analogue duo to leave the original firmware and use the controller with both consoles. Thank you
Hey! You are correct: your best bet is to just use the dongle on both consoles. It will work 95% the same. There are some slight changes to how the controllers work between dongle and firmware update. I made a video about exactly that, please have a look: th-cam.com/video/bZkpG0mvVkc/w-d-xo.html
Nice nice
Glad I found these :)
I need to update mine. I just bought the SD card and formatted it to FAT32. Your card has folders on it. Do I have to have those same folders? I want it do hold saves and everything an SD should do, not just install the update. I don't care to have it Jailbroken.
If you have formatted it FAT32 that is all you need to do. Pop it in, and the console will create the folders it needs. 👍
@@retropint Thanks!!!!
Can you use 3rd party docks with the pocket
I have not personally heard of a third party dock that works.... But that doesn't mean they don't exist!
I am trying to play xybots in my analogue pocket+adapter and an error message appears! How do you managed to play this game in the analogue pocket??
I didn't do anything special. It just worked like the other games. I guess you could make sure that the cartridge is inserted the correct way, and deep enough into the adapter. I had a couple carts that didn't immediately fit in all the way, right away.
💞 *PromoSM*
Do these additions work along-side the extras the Jailbreak introduced?
My understanding is that you need to wait for an update to the jailbreak.
@@retropint I gave it a try and you lose your jailbreak Assets setup, it's easy enough to switch back but as I have 80+ games I can do either, I am just not keen on playing my CD's on it so prefer to play those from SD.
I you put the pocket firmware on the M30 you can then sync it to the duo without the dongle and all buttons work including the menu button.
My experience in doing this is that the Z and C buttons do not work in that case. A, B, X, Y, L and R do, though. Do Z and C work for you?
i just double checked and your right i thought worked my bad, mine seems to be working as a 4 button pad oddly with the L being copy of the one of the other buttons and R being hard punch on the kabuki arcade fighter anyway.@@retropint
@@RetroTuna Oh weird! I tried the m30 in Street Fighter 2, in one of my other videos. I was able to have all 6 buttons working. Just not the 6 I wanted!
@@retropint That's odd well i know one thing it needs a firmware update to fix 6 button support. i think i may had have all 6 buttons working on my Ps4 arcade stick will have to give it another go.
I picked this up recently myself
This is my favourite version of the game! I hope you enjoy it, too.
That images only work with the original cartridges? What about with the openfpga games ( with the roms)
As far as I know, you are correct: This method is for cartridges only.
Oh, and it works for CDs too. Even backup, burned, CDs.
Thanks for the quick help
Am I right in assuming this will undo the Jailbroken firmware? + "Analogue" will have to make new JB FW with the newest features?...
To be clear: I don't have experience with the Jailbreak. I am going for the full nostalgic experience of going to the store, buying a game, popping it in and playing it. So I have not ventured into the realm of jailbreaking. That being said: I have seen comments from others that you are correct, you will need to wait until the jailbreak is updated. Keep an eye on the jailbreak website for an update. The save state feature is pretty valuable!
Once a controller has been flashed, can it still be reconnected to the dongle in the future? I’m thinking about getting an Analogue Duo but I’d like to be able to use the controller with my PC Engine mini from time to time too. Thanks for the video! EDIT: Never mind, just found your other video where you answer my question. (Sorry.)
No worries! I'm glad you found the answer. You can absolutely use them with the dongle again, it is just a bit tedious to swap the firmware back and forth. I literally bought extra controllers instead. :D
You must flash m30 with analogue firmware for 6 botton
And connect without dongle
Hey, thanks for the comment. In the release notes for the 1.2 firmware release, it specifically says they added support for the m30 with the dongle, so that is why I tested it that way. "Added support for 8BitDo M30 2.4G dongle". I have a video testing the m30 with the flashed firmware, too. It does work with 6 buttons, but it's not perfect: Two of the face buttons don't work, instead the shoulder buttons are used. This is an -ok- solution, but for a game like Street Fighter 2, would like to use all 6 face buttons, instead. I appreciate the comment though, because if I missed something, I would love to know. Cheers!
@@retropint i know for the 2 buttons , it s maybe because with néo géo cd pad, you have only 4 buttons, it work with néo géo cd pad in bluetooth or with dongle
Love the update. And yes... Everything sounds right.
Ooooh really? So they fixed it, nice!
Bought two of these controllers brand new and neither wants to be recognized by my PC using either cables that came with it. You can hear it being recognized but no menus or anything pop up. The very fact I bought two of them brand new and not one of them works properly with the Duo, which is temperamental all by itself, leads me to believe this product by Analogue as well as this 8bitdo line of controllers are expensive hot garbage.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with the controllers! When the controllers are connected to your PC, you can use a game pad testing application to see if they work, through the browser, like this one: hardwaretester.com/gamepad That should let you test them. I just tried it with both the included USB cable, and the included USB dongle. It was detected by the gamepad tester in both cases. After you test if they work, and they do, you can either follow the steps I outlined in the video to flash the firmware on them for the Duo, or instead just use the included dongle plugging it into the back of the Duo. Good luck!
Maybe a stupid question, but do save states work if you loaded the game from Everdrive?
I don't have an everdrive, so I can't test it. Maybe another viewer can answer. Someone on a group I am in said it does not, though.
No. It only works with original HU Cards. Tested it with the Everdrive Turbo Pro, and it doesn't work.
Savestate works with Linker like Chinese Turbo Express and Turbo Everdrive 👍👍👍
I see no reason to forego my jailbreak to try this 😂
For Savestate 😉😉😉
@@luckyluke95 cheater lol
Does the jailbreak only work on the older firmware? Nice. Certainly if you don't play physical carts, then don't upgrade!
I love Macross 😍😍😍
I use NeoGeo CD 8bitdo Bluetooth to play SF2 with 6 boutons 👍👍👍
6 buttons do work with the M30, if I flash the firmware, and use the shoulder buttons. It's just not 'perfect' :D
@@retropint exactly, the mapping buttons is like Snes controller. I prefer use A B C X Y Z 😢😥
