When my brother & I were kids, our grandmother lived with us. She had to wear adult diapers (like Depends), which came shipped in these HUGE boxes! He & I used to take those boxes & create all sorts of things. We once created a little house for our cats, complete with a door & windows. All we needed was a serrated steak knife to cut with & our imaginations. This was back in the 1980s, when kids could still play with knives. And yes, our parents knew all about it. And yes, we WERE careful! LOL I love the idea of taking boxes & cutting them down for drawer dividers. Mama mentioned some time ago that she needs dividers for a drawer in her bathroom. So I'll give this a try--thank you! I hope you are doing well. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
I love paper boxes. At work, we go through a lot of paper. I love getting the boxes, especially if they are mostly white. I have used them for organizing my closet, and for storing extra food, and writing the year of expiration on the outside of the box. I have things stored in the attic in them...I have wrapped them in funny papers/comics, and kept them in my sons closet, when he was younger, and as he out grew clothes, I would but the items in the boxes, and when I had a box full, they were donated.
Noreen, I find your tips and videos so therapeutic and encouraging! You have an organized and professional production style. I watch you not only for tips but also as entertainment/mentorship while I create art! I would like to be your snail mail pen pal, if you have that spot still available. Your transparency and gentleness have been so touching. This borderline OCD fan of order has gone from exhausted over doer to one with "permission" to do organizing in bite sizes (and I say it out loud to myself as I walk away...). Hugs from Northern Virginia.
Btw, I do use bankers boxes in my IKEA cubby shelves in my studio and in our office. The ones in the basement home office are wrapped in burlap. I will decorate the ones in studio prob with fabric or paint.
Oh boy am I happy to see this. For years I have covered, painted and reconfigured boxes for storage. Did it because of being poverty level. Its amazing what you come up with and use when that is your only choice. Nice to see it is something others do as well.
Yes, please teach how to make any/all of the boxes you just showed. I agree with Susan Dunaway. Do an entire series of painting and upscaling cardboard boxes. You are amazing!
Hi Norrine I love your videos they help me to look at different ways to stay organized. Or I try to lol. I use the empty boxes that the crayons com in to package my jewelry at sales. I use a marble paint to decorate them . That way if anyone wants to throw them away I don't feel so bad since they were given one more life. I also love to collect tins of all sizes. I have been using the paper ream boxes for years. I always grab them from the copy room at school. Any project you want to do I will watch and be interested in.
Congratulations on your 200 shows!!! You will soon be at 100,000. I would love to see th stacking suitcases and the shim boxes. Have a great day and thanks for sharing your ideas!!!!💟
Oh YES pleaseeee show us the stacking suitcases! I want to make some to decorate in my fiancé’s store. He just launched a new product line. He’s getting out of the computer business and in to men’s grooming products! He’s used to just putting product on shelves....I know in retail aesthetic is everything. So I’m trying to come up with inexpensive ways to allow for extra product to be “out” but not seen so he isn’t fumbling to find more. TY Noreen! ❤️
Yes, yes, yes..please do a video on doing the stacking boxes(suitcases)..would so appreciate it!! Thank you xx💗 Congrats on 200 videos..xx Whoo hoo!!👌😘😁💗
Congrats to you my luvvie xx. Been watching you for ages but haven't ever left a comment until now. I live in Scotland and I honestly regard you N. as a very dear youtube friend. 100 000 is on the horizon and you WILL achieve that goal. Very much love to you. Joan xxx P.S. Just keep doing what you do so brilliantly........please. xx
Congratulations! You are so kind to share your ideas. Years ago I took leftover boxes and covered them with wallpaper. I still have them 20 years later and keep yarn in them.
Yes, please do a video on the boxes like suitcases., and the snack boxes with wooden shims. great video, Norrine! I do the small cut down boxes to insert into a drawer but never thought to decorate them. That really takes them from utility to Extra! love it . I'll be upgrading them for sure! also, i had one of those mesh office supply files to stack folders in horizontally, but I wanted to use it vertically. when it wouldn't stand up on its own, I cut down a Cheerios box and it fit snugly into the bottom 3 inches so it won't tip over now. it will get upgraded (decorated) too now! thx for all the wonderful ideas! and yeah YOU for your 200th video!! I've binge watched them all now!!
I drink a lot of soda and I save the boxes (cases and 12 packs) to make storage containers. I store my ribbons, florals, gift bags and tissue paper, etc. Congratulations on your 200th video! And best wishes to reaching 100,000 subscribers. I'm proud to be one of them!
Congrats on 200 videos, I really enjoy you and your channel, you'll get to 100,000, no doubt - wish I could subscribe twice 😉 I would really love to see your take on the stacked suitcases, a look I have loved for years but never thought about making them out of cardboard boxes. (There's a train station on Long Island, NY that has used stacked suitcases as their decor and it is AWESOME). Thanks for all you share with us, so helpful and FUN! God Bless you.
@@imisseveryone2716 sometimes I cut the end off and stand them up (tall) and put floral picks in them. Some of the big case boxes I cut to look like magazine racks, glue them together on the sides and make paperwork organizers. Other cases I cut most of the sides off (the wide sides), lay them flat, and store my ribbon in them. They stack very well. I have even used an idea that I got from this channel, where I cut the end off (the skinny end) and store odd and end things in ziploc bags. I have one for fabric or decoupage items, one for foam core board scraps and cardboard, and a couple that I cut in half that store little things I plan on using in upcoming crafts
I would love to see you duplicate the stack suitcases! 😁 I would also love to hear your ideas for pipe cleaner storage. ❤ Congratulations on your 100K subscribers! As always thank you for sharing your creativity, talent and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy and positive! GOD bless you and your family! 🙏❤🇺🇸🌞
CONGRATULATIONS ON 200!!! You so richly deserve it. Yes, I would love to see as many covered box ideas like So Lovely Creations, the Three Suitcases and as many ideas as you would be willing to share. I love adding the drawer handles, knobs, labels, anything to make the boxes more elevated/rich looking. I am totally combining my bedroom with craft room and need so many boxes with so little money to work with. I want the room to be pretty and not scream 'craft room'. My colors are black and white contact paper from Dollar Tree for half the boxes, blush pink with black polka dots for smaller boxes and white furniture. Bedspread in blush pink. NOTE: I have many 12-pack soda boxes available to me. I love the little white suitcases you have on the shelves behind you. Thank you. Barbara in Texas.
1) congratulations 🎉🎈 on 200! 2) I believe they use a bamboo skewer and wrap the paper tightly. 3) I’ve used the fruit boxes with lids to store large items. 4) love these ideas!
Congrats on your 200th video, I do have a realization that all those videos took alot of work. This video is more my style these days, but the challenge video just isn't for me these days, as I feel challenged enough just to want to get out of bed. I am waiting and anticipating your 100 thousand subscriber mark, I'm rooting for you. Take care. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
I'm new to the idea of making my own storage containers and making them BEAUTIFUL! I loved the ideas you have here, and I really liked the video where you walked us through making the box with the shims. I would very much appreciate more 'How To's'. I want to beautify some Ikea magazine holder boxes. I have a ton. How to you manage to cover the inside? I don't want a lovely outside then see a unfinished inside every time I use it. If I paint the box, how do I manage to do the inside? If I cover it; how do I do the inside? I'm sure most of your followers are just shaking their heads at me. But I know me and if I take the time and effort and try really hard only to end up with a messy product, . . . I probably won't try it again. I battle extreme fatigue and wasting my energy is akin to throwing money into the air on a windy day. But if I can do a good job - not perfect, but good - it's energizing! If you've already done them, I apologize. I've been looking for them, but I'm not at all TH-cam savvy. Thanks Norrine. You provide a wonderful source of inspiration and encouragement to we the disorganized, discouraged, & seekiing.
We did that rolled paper technique in 6th grade You just pull pages from a magazine and then roll them on a dowel (diagonally) and glue in place. We put them on empty Baskin Robbins ice cream container and used them as trash cans. What a fun memory from so long ago!
I would love to see your method for making the boxed with a flush lid. The box that looks like straws outside may be made using rolled up paper. Thank you for being here and being real! 🙏🏼
CONGRATULATIONS! Just recently found your channel, and you've been a real resourceful inspiration. I'm glad you are so close to 100k! Would love to see you do both projects you mentioned. The rolled paper chest is made by rolling paper tightly around a dowel, pencil, rounded chopstick etc. It can be glued and then a protectant/seal applied. They are paintable, and the sizes change based on the size of dowel, pencil etc., or they can be cut with scissors.
Have used cardboard cereal boxes for years as magazine holders, would love to see any that you replicate.I'm especially interested in the the "divider" idea. Thanks.
I love the idea of the stacking suitcases. Please show us how to do that. Boxes have been a favorite of mine for a long time because I’m cheap. When we moved into our bedroom, the closet had built in shelves, so I ditched our dresser and took diaper boxes. (My daughter and granddaughter had just moved out) and made custom boxes for those shelves. I cut the boxes in half and then covered each half with faux leather I bought at Hobby Lobby with a coupon. The boxes fit perfectly three across each shelf. I absolutely love the look and I have more space in my room without a dresser.
I've been using Amazon boxes which still have the smile on the side! Spray paint is a good idea but we don't get many dry days here in UK so I will have to be ready to rush outside when the weather is in my favour!!
if the give-away doesn’t diminish YOUR pocketbook that would be fine, but, I for one, am pleased just to be able to tap your creativity for my own sake! THAT is enough benefit for me.
Some moving boxes have cut-out handles on each end. I bought a storage unit with big shelves, and the small-size box fit perfectly inside. I trimmed off the top flaps, made a pattern from one box and then bought some cheap contact paper at the Dollar Store to cover them so they looked nicer (that black and white floral pattern that I've seen on some of your examples), and used them to store my yarn. Problem solved! Plus, I didn't want to pay $$$ just for a storage bin. 😅
As always, YES I want to see your DIY! Those suitcases are awesome! I used to do my paper rolls with a knitting needle, they are longer than straws and sturdy. The plastic straws didn’t work for me, they would collapse whilst rolling and the paper ones were better but honestly they are already the right width so you might as well use the actual straws!
Yes please absolutely, we want to see how you replicate the stacking suitcases please. Can’t wait how you gonna do it. Thank you so much. You’re creativity craft is amazing. I love them all.
Would love to see you make the 3 black and White suit case type boxes, @ 4:29! Great idea, to use each one as storage for stamps, make inserts for blocks, the bottom one for clear stamps, standing up.
I think a great give-a-way would be boxes and labels or other type of storage, that can be folded and mailed. 😁. I would like to see both videos on the suitcases and shims.
I adore your humility. You are one of a handful of people I get excited about when I see a new video come up. I've been trying to do the storage box thing FOREVER, but I get stuck on the measure for the material and it all goes awry from there. I'll keep watching and looking for new videos, though!🌈❤
Yes, I am interested to see and learn how you create the suitcases. You are so creative and I am definitely learning so much from all your tutorials. TFS! Rose Marie
I feed my dogs The Farmers Dog food, it comes in the sturdiest box I’ve ever seen and they are 14 1/2 square. I could use a great idea on how to make some storage out of them. That is so sweet of you 💜
Please show us how you do the suitcase storage boxes!!
I feed my dogs The Farmers Dog food, it comes in the sturdiest box I’ve ever seen and they are 14 1/2 square. I could use a great idea on how to make some storage out of them. Yes, definitely interested in the suitcases, those are beautiful. Congratulations! 🎈10,000 views on this video, yay for you.
