Hello, friends! It's been quite a few weeks without a post from us. I hope you guys didn't think we gave up already! We decided to combine the last 3 or 4 weeks of work into this one video because these last few weeks have felt all the same. Any guesses which letter Tommy broke at the end of the video??

Curious why you all decided to polish it first instead of the last step? Looks gorgeous!

11 months of working on the airstream the absolute last thing I can imagine doing is spending a month in the summer heat polishing this airstream haha!
But, for technical reasons--we had to take off all the small bits just to name a few--the Airstream letters (can only be taken off with the skins off, the tail light bodies can only be taken off with the skins off. We polished before resealing every seam and changing olympic rivets to solid buck rivets (polishing removes the seals in the seams and on wet rivets), and we installed our solar panels and new fans and AC 4 months into the project when we did all of the electrical work on the Airstream. Would have been a little bit hard to polish with our solar panels on the roof. If we did it again, we would 100% polish first again.

@@slowcarfasthome that all makes perfect sense! Thanks for the reply!

Okay now I see why it took so long with 240+ square feet to sand and buff plus all those details. Great job both of you and keep up the good work! My guess is one of the "r's".

3 compound process and each stage needed several passes around the entire trailer. Add in not ordering enough compound, waiting for more to arrive AND bad weather days. And, of course the learning curve since this is the first airstream we’ve polished 😂Wheweeee! We had no idea how extensive of a job polishing the airstream would be 😂
      Thanks for watching Uncle John!
