    I pre-ordered the new LG OLED monitor, I tried the GQ950 and even though it was nice using a 32 inch monitor, The contrast just wasn't there. I almost exclusively play single player games, So contrast is important to me.

    • @seifbuys

      Thanks for commenting Armen! and I agree 100% the contrast on IPS or LCD monitors just isn't there in comparison to OLED. I still play my single player games on my LG CX oled tv. Excited for you to get the new lg oled monitor! I heard it's amazing and honestly quite tempted to order it myself!

    Both monitors have variable refresh rate via free sync premium just a correction. I see where he's coming from when it comes to console and the TV but in my experience with using PC with TV's it's very difficult if not impossible on some models of TVs to not cut off a part of the image as well as pixel density being worse on TVs though I've never have gotten a high end TV without it being used and a few years old

    Was disappointing about that 650-b. But i just put 120hrz + 1ms response and faster presets and with this option it looks more or less fine. Also open engineer menu and adjust some settings there and now it’s worth it that 280euro. One thing, bios on 650-b installed from version 600-b.
    If you want open that hidden menu, doing this. Turn off monitor, after press: left-left-left-right and turn on monitor. After, open menu and push right. Make a picture of your settings and then trying to to set your best settings, but you loose your warranty i think. Personally I don’t care because it costs 280euro😂

    7:38 THe GN600 has a VA panel not IPS , Therefore Blacks look deep af on VA panel (the only plus point of VA panel)
    where as in other areas IPS panel wins - like viewing angles, Color accuracy, etc

      @@NedRigNerdfor esports, ya you would probably benefit from the higher refresh rate and take the hit on resolution from 4k to 1440p. I would say go for it, if you can buy it from a place that allows you to return it for free (like Amazon in North America), even better.

    The reason you are getting black smearing is because your playing on “Faster” response. Switch it to normal or high if you don’t see a problem. It fixed it for me it was really annoying seeing the health bars have terrible black smear

  • @mgaming7
    @mgaming7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you could have at least matched a 4k to a 4k Cheaper monitor. 1440 at 32" looks like trash. the GQ950 has a massively higher PPI. better color. better blacks. the GQ950 drops to $899 - $999.

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      meh I didn't mind 1440p when gaming. 1440p gaming was passable despite 32inch screen size and only significant difference i noticed between the two was black smearing on the GN600 in god of war cut scenes. Ya sure, colours, contrast, and motion/blur handling and all were def better on GQ950 when gaming... just not 4x better as MSRP price difference would suggest. Blacks even looked blacker on some content on the GN600 like I show despite my trying to turn on and off different settings. I'm not all that technical, so to my eyes, def worth comparing considering the price difference. Same universal rule of diminishing returns as we go up in price applies here as it does for everything else. And ya, I grabbed the GQ950 for around $900USD though it's back to full price of $1,200USD in Canada.

      Err it's pretty bad. Didn't even know what black smearing was till I saw it in a god of war cutscene on the GN600. Outside of the god of war cutscenes though, can't say i really noticed it.. like not while playing the game and not while playing call of duty 🤷

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooh yes, I was the same tbh, like I would have gladly shelled out more money if there was a 32" 4k OLED available right now. Was definitely eyeing that Odyssey Neo G8, ultimately decided against because of the slight curve and steep price. Do you notice the curve when working with that monitor at all, like is it at all annoying?

    • @xellaz
      @xellaz ปีที่แล้ว

      @seifbuys I got the Neo G8 for a good price of $1091 USD due to promotional and other discounts. I'm not a fan of the curve myself but you get used to it and it's not that bad after that. Text is very clear when working with documents. Being a VA panel with 1196 local dimming zones, the contrast and black levels is as close as we'll get to OLEDs without the burn-in risks until micro LED monitors comes out. I don't like the very aggressive matte coating it has though but the Neo G8 is a very good gaming monitor overall.

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xellaz Ahh okay, thanks for the info! I just went into youtube rabbit hole researching pros and cons of curved monitors hah. A shame they don't offer that HDR tech on a flat panel. I still might get the Neo G7 to try it out myself.. the neo G8 is still full price everywhere I checked here in Canada sadly (and was during holidays too smh). My main hesitancy right now is because I'm using the LG dual up as my secondary so Idk if it will blend/work well with a curved monitor as the main :/

    • @xellaz
      @xellaz ปีที่แล้ว

      @seifbuys If you can wait a Lil more, that might be better. I'm sure 32" 4k OLED gaming monitors will arrive soon. Even TLC showed a 4K OLED monitor with glossy coating this past CES show. It just sux they say it's only a concept right now and won't be available soon but the technology to make it is already here. Check it out. It looks so good!

      @@xellaz Oh wow, found vid of the TCL monitor you're referencing. Guy said 2/3 years out though :/ Hope LG beats them to market with something similar asap. I'm so tempted to buy that neo G7 now though, reading that the contrast almost as good as OLED, so curious how accurate that claim is since i've got my LG CX TV right here. Also couldn't find anything definitive on the curve, like some saying it enhances gaming experience but makes unusable for anything else. Other saying it makes both worse.. :/ Have you played COD on it at all? does it improve your performance/enjoyment at all or nah?
