  • The Ford N-Series tractor may be the easiest vehicle in the world to swap the exhaust system on. If you have never done it, here's a quick step by step with some tips and tricks to get the job done right the first time.
This tractor is a mix of 9N, 2N, and 8N parts but the process and the parts are all the same between them. If you are a novice wrencher, this is a great project to get your feet wet requiring minimal tools or knowledge/experience. It'll also make your tractor sound better and run better when you have the proper exhaust system attached to the engine.

If you ever use you 8N for mowing light, dry grass then you'll know why they put a stack pipe on her. Always fun the see a field fire underneath you from the hay plied up on the muffler, burning, and setting the other grass on fire as you drive.

The stock "under" exhaust is so much better when you are doing orchard work or around trees at all. Also, it's not blowing exhaust in your face...which is a plus.

No tailpipe or muffler hanger? It just hangs there by the clamp at the manifold?

The tailpipe support bracket is supposed to be attached to the axle housing.

I always have to run short hater pipes so I can drive them in my garage without pulling them off. At least they didn’t just torch a hole in the hood like on my super 88

You really ought to put the back hanger by the lift arm pin on or else that exhaust is gonna be messed up lickity split

you had better hook ur air filter to the Carb or else you will have to replace the carb. I ran my TE20 like that fer a while but ended up ruining my carb. but It looks like a great tractor.
