The Jordi Bosch-Organ of Sant Andreu Church in Santanyi (Spain) - Hauptwerk Organ Demo - Paul Fey

Some days ago I've had the wonderful opportunity to visit this amazing organ built by Jordi Bosch - now I've had the chance to play the Hauptwerk sampleset which was recorded back in 2001(!). Let's see how the set compares to the real organ. I hope you'll enjoy this video!!

Diese schöne Orgel ist bestimmt schon einige hundert Jahre alt, aber sie klingt fantastisch. Und diese Pedalknöpfe sind niedlich. Thanks so much! I love the Spanish organs of the 17th and 18th century. Those horizontal trumpets are my favorite type of reed stop.

Spanish organs are like anything Spanish - dramatic and over the top - like the Gaudi Cathedral - but in all that ostentation there are some beautiful stops which you bring to the fore with some lovely melodies. This demonstration of yours Paul is a real gem. I hope you find more similar instruments. If you ever get to Mexico it would be very interesting to know what you find and think. Braulio a Mexican organist and choir conductor shows some of them.

Der Klang ist super. Aber was mir fehlt (auch wenn ich sie nicht persönlich kenne) ist die fehlende Winddrucksimulation. Nachdem ich dein Video an der echten Orgel gehört habe, denke ich, dass der Tutti-Teil in echt nicht so gleichmäßig klingen würde...

Thank you for this very thorough demonstration of the organ’s tone colours. How convincing is the sample set in comparison with the sound of the original, naturally discounting the difference in acoustics?

Thank you very much for watching! 😀 I‘d say that you‘d recognize the organ when hearing a recording on the sampleset. Considering the age of the sampleset its alright - all the imperfections of the original organ and the feeling of the church are not present though.
