“The one I admire without restriction is Clark Terry, whose pronunciation at the trumpet or bugle is a model of sharpness, clearness, and authority. A model which is given with generosity to all of those who want to play this instrument ... the way it should be played.” Maurice André
@@emilyfawthrop1700 Sorry I over reacted a little. That guitar is really good at playing bells on the creating left middle circular interviews on flugel horn.
same thing thought OP having to play with Clark Terry. the trumpet is one of the hardest instruments to play. listening to Clark terry it might seem effortless but just to get a decent tone is hard enough and you have to hit the right harmonic, after that you start dealing with the musical problems any other musician finds.
Clark Terry is one of thee most underrated and humble musicians I have ever met.

man I love how he gives himself just enough time to get in front of the mic and put the horn up to his face before OP finishes the intro
THAT IS ONE AMAZING TRUMPET PLAYER!!!
Gage D That’s a flugel horn, not a trumpet 😁, but I agree he’s amazing
@@emilyfawthrop1700 Do you think I am stupid, of course I know. That is a trombone
Gage D OMG I’m sorry, just a lot of people would make that mistake- more than you’d expect! 😂
Gage D And maybe that came from a deep-set anger that no one has heard of jazz flugel compared to trumpet 😂

This is RIDICULOUS...slammin'!!
I love the way Clark controls the tempo early on--you have to make your presence felt
5:49 that articlulation, he has some of the best trumpet/flugelhorn tonging in jazz alongside Brownie
Who‘s brownie?

Tremendo!!! Espectacular!!!
Could there be anything more daunting than playing with OP? You'd have to be at the top of your game just to step onto the stage...
