Clark Terry is THE most underrated Jazz trumpet player of all time

One of the great but unfortunately mistakenly underated of that era of jazz piano. A true master with a very harmonious style to all his ballads and sadly missed.

CT is amazing as always, but there is something about watching Ray Brown lay down a walking bass line at this tempo that is mesmerizing

It’s wild to me how personality and character is in this performance, and not just another trio playing a tune and doing some soloing. The constant in and out of on top of the beat to playing around it, then I love the almost Samba feel once they come out of the ending solos. This is such a great performance! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤯🥵

Somehow a copy of Master of the Art fell into my hands in the early 1980s. I've been a Woody Shaw fan ever since. He was a huge influence on me as a young musician. I played the hell out of that album, and still have it. Peace
