This video is perfect timing. I just ordered the Orient Triton 2 days ago, the Blue version. It just came back in stock on Joma shop for $325 delivered. I can't wait for it to get here.

Great review on two great watches . I own a Orient Mforce Bravo and a Padi Turtle 🐢. The one Seiko watch that beats all of them would be the Seiko Sumo. I own a SBDC033 Sumo or aka the Blumo . If you don’t own a Sumo I strongly recommend that watch . The Sumo has much better case and finishing on par with the Seiko Marine Master watch and also houses a 6R15 movement which is an upgrade to the 4R36 .

As long as Seiko won't offer sapphire at this price point they won't be able to compete with the value offered by the Triton.
Must admit my Triton (blue) is also very dressy, people just keep asking what is this beauty.
Love Seiko also, my favourite brand ever, but they must step up their game and at least offer sapphire and improve quality control on their sub $500 watches (misalignments are plenty).

You might consider the Kamasu. It's not a Triton however the quality is mind-blowing for the price, and it wears really small,. much smaller than the 41.8mm let you imagine.
The Triton wears like a 41mm watch, the Kamasu wears like a 39mm watch.
My Tissot Seastar (43mm) wears really bigger than my Triton.

Nice review. I have become a big fan of Orient. I have 2 Kamasus, and I expect my Triton to arrive this week. These are feature packed, value packed Japanese watches. In my opinion, the Triton wins due to the superior lume, the Sapphire crystal, and the high-end movement.........can't go wrong with Orient.

  • @DienekesShade
    @DienekesShade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

As an owner of both watches I can say that Turtle does not deserve to be even mentioned in one sentence with Orient. Triton is superior in any conceivable way. The quality, the materials, the finish, the overall refinement and, what is the most impressive at this prices point, the movement - all those things make Orient a much better watch. My Triton is close to 0 spd. Zero. Seiko runs fast with 10 spd.
Now I want to sell my Turtle and buy me another Triton, black one this time. I rock blue version with the Strap code's Angus Jubilee bracelet. Ideal combo.

@@EricSloferwatchreviews Yes indeed. I love every quirk of it. The finish and positioning of massive crown which lies in line with data window. All lumed indecies on board, no skimping there. And the bezel. Brushed on top, polished underneath. Awesome. For me, it was impossible to find a better diver, bellow Marine Master, other than Saturation one. To be completely frank, in my opinion, there isn't one between those two. Huge gap to fill.

The right side of the Orient seems too cluttered. Wish they kept the date on the left side as on the saturation diver. Also, the minute hand is short. Not sure why they didn't make it as on the Kamasu to extend all the to the minute track.

The main thing the Orient has that's superior is its sapphire crystal with the AR coating, but sapphire isn't that much better than Hardlex.
The Orient's lume might have been a little bit brighter (which is very strange since Seiko has legendary lume).
Those are the only two things better about the Orient in my opinion (and the second one I'm not sure about). The Orient does have the power indicator, but I don't see much value in that and it doesn't help the look of the watch. I'd rather have the day of the week displayed than the available power.
My limited research suggests that the movements of the two watches are of about equal quality.
In my opinion, the Turtle is clearly the better looking watch, and you don't even have the best looking Turtle. The "Save the Ocean" Turtle for example blows the Triton out of the water. Orient needs to lose the logo; it doesn't help the appearance of their watches.
Anyway, I don't have either watch, but I intend on picking up the Turtle after Christmas.

    • @clange50

I just bought a mako usa 2 and I love it, but could totally do without the day. IMO it's useless. Maybe if you're retired it's useful (they never seem to know the day), but as I work, there are probably only 2-3 times per year I forget the day. That's usually Saturday vs. Sunday and for like 2 seconds. I would much rather have a power reserve indicator.

Exactly how does a save the ocean turtle blow a Triton out of the water? Just subjective nonsense without any evidence. Clearly a Seiko fanboy. I've owned both and Orient has Seiko licked in every area. Seiko's quality control leaves a lot to be desired too with misalignment issues aplenty. And Hardlex is nowhere near sapphire. I'm yet to scratch a sapphire crystal with heavy use I must add. I've scratched every Hardlex crystal watch I've owned. Seiko saves it's best watches for for its own domestic market. I love the discontinued JDM SARB series with the 6R15 movement, but those are now few and far between and Seiko doesn't make watches like that anymore at that price point.
