I've been looking at the green face. This is a practical, everyday watch that punches way above it's weight class. That gray perlon strap looks great on it too. Great review, I just subscribed.
Thanks for this review! I have been vacillating between the green, black, and "bronze" (if it was actually bronze and not PVD-bronze, that would be a no-brainer).
I came across this model back in January this year. Jody at Just one more watch mentioned about the sizing but I thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad i did as on my 7.25 inch wrist it fits totally fine and wears very comfortable. It's overshadowed by the Kamasu but in my opinion it's a superior watch and like you say a hidden gem in the Orient range. I went for the pepsi version which looks great and although I don't wear it a great deal I won't be letting it go especially as the price in the UK has hiked up by about 20% since i bought mine.
Thought I was going to return it due to size but looks and feels great on a 7.5 wrist. If they made it smaller lug to lug it will be the SKX replacement. Not ISO but I'll take the sapphire crystal instead. It's $209 Black Friday sale from Jomashop and the watch is beautiful. Don't like the bezel of the Kamasu and Ray but totally adore the Kano if it had a sapphire crystal. Amazing video and thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! I kind of feel the same way about the Kamasu and Ray bezels. I didn't at first, but once you've seen it on so many models for so many years, it kind of grows old. I think this is one of the best looking Orients, and I would love for it to be just a little bit smaller. Cheers!
Hello, that Orient New Triton is not ISO marked is pure marketing, does a company want to expand extra money in the ISO marking or not, Well, that is their decision BUT, that Orient not investing extra for this marking does not mean that their Diver Watches are worse for Professional Diving. My good advice to you is to invest in this Orient Triton, you can Thank me afterwards, I have both Seiko Sumo and Seiko Marinmaster and 3 pieces of Orient New Triton and I really regret that I threw away my hard earned money on the Seiko models because there is no difference compared to Orient, Don't make the same mistake like I did.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! There's a lot of truth to that. After a certain point, let's say 500 dollars or so, the differences in watches become very small. It's mainly just a matter of higher quality finishing and better quality control, but the watches work just as well and with the same "specs" on paper.
Personally, no. I think the Sumo might be a step up in quality, but I personally prefer the looks and dimensions of this Orient. The Sumo is really quite a hefty case, and I have always felt that the bracelet of the Sumo doesn't quite fit the case. Nothing objectively wrong with the Sumo either, it's just my preference. I'd still say it is superior in quality compared to this Orient.
Not sure if Google translate got this one right... The bezel is used by setting the pointer above the minute-hand, after which the minute-hand shows (on the bezel insert) how many minutes have elapsed since you started the timing.
Ehdottomasti!
Orient on Japanilainen brändi! Valmistuksesta en ole aivan varma. Orient kuuluu samaan megakorporaatioon kun Seiko. Yleensä halvimmat Seiko mallit on valmistettu Malesiassa. En tiedä voiko siitä sitten päätellä olisiko Malesia todennäköinen valmistuspaikka..
Good review video though nobody is perfect right?. But, the only thing that I get annoyed and it doesn't only apply to your reviews but this is an inexplicable global phenomenon: Why in the name of peace compare an Orient New Triton with a Seiko SKX or even worse with a Seiko 5 Sea Urchin?. Orient New Triton is a high-quality watch that can easily be compared to, for example, Seiko Sumo? there is the price that is decisive, so Orient wins over Seiko's model. Good luck in the Continuation, there will always be people who think they can do better, but do none of this.
Hi, thanks for your comment and the kind words! I usually do some quick comparisons size-wise, and if the watches are in the same genre, then maybe some quick other comparisons too. The main reason I personally do that, is just to show the viewer a comparison which they are familiar with, so for that the Seiko SKX is great because it's so universally known. But I do get your point, they kind of should not be compared.
Had 3 of them sold em all. The model was manufactured with a big flaw, the insert sits above the crystal. Any knocks on the watch face and the insert marks up way too easily.
Personally I prefer that. I’ve seen watches where the crystal is above the insert, so a good knock will shatter the crystal. At least this way the crystal is protected.
Thank you! They are not as thick as on the SKX for example, but I remember that they were at least a bit more robust than the slimmes spring bars. Can't remember 100% though.
2 years with the green one. I love it and I fits great on my 7.5 inch wrist
Very nice! Glad to hear that mate :)
I’ve had this watch for about 5 months and I love it.
Very nice! Glad to hear that :)
The dementors!
You should have more subscribers. Good in-depth review 👍
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate the kind words :) Channel is growing slowly but steadily, I should just pump out videos more often I think😁

Very true. Great value for money! I also like the green one. Glad to have you on board! :)

My pleasure mate!

That’s great! I think you might have just the right size of wrist for this model! Glad to hear you’ve been happy with it!
Good review and nice footage! Keep it up 👍
Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it :) will do!

Very happy to hear that my video was useful! My pleasure! Thank you for watching and commenting!

Seriously? The sumo and marinemaster are in a total diff league. @@miki55fathoms19
Nice review, I bought one and very pleased.
It's better than I thought it would be.
Size is great to.
Thanks for posting up.
Do you prefer the Sumo over this? How would you compare the two?

Great showcase
Thank you! I appreciate it🙂
I just got this model and the handwinding seems somewhat resistant and sort of rough and slightly almost gritty? Is that normal?
Hmm.. I haven't experienced winding like that on Orient watches. Maybe you should get it checked at a local AD.
Would be nice if it's a 39mm but overall, it's a great watch!
Definitely! Maybe someday.. :)

The bezel looks like ceramic ?
It does! But it's not. Just glossy..
It's on of those models looking better on straps than on bracelets
I agree!
Onko hyvä ekaksi automaattikelloksi? Rakastuin ulkonäköön😅

Toki! Ei tuollakaan valinnalla todellakaan voi pieleen mennä! Seikon 5 linjasto on hyvin monipuolinen ja sieltä kyllä löytyy myös rahalle vastinetta.
What is the size of your fist?
😂 Not sure about the size of my first or how to messure it! But my wrist is about 6 and a half inches in circumference, if that helps!
Not sure how anyone could call 43.4mm a "mini" or "baby" anything, lol
Haha that’s a good point! Sometimes there’s no logic to the names😂
It depends on your wrist size I guess. 8 in wrist and it doesn't seem large at all.
It refers go a model that is more expensive, it is a lite version
Mükemmel inceleme
Thanks a lot!
Onkohan nämä kiinalaisia?

I owned this watch, its very nice, but it just misses character i feel like. its a bit boring.
Bummed to hear that! I feel like it has character, but I just wish it was a bit smaller!

My pleasure! :)
If only it was a bit smaller:(
My thoughts exactly!
51mm lug to lug is nowhere near mini
For sure not. I don’t agree with the naming either😅 But that’s what people are calling it

Nice watch but unfortunately too large
Yes it’s a bit large! I hope they would make the same design in a smaller size.
Nice review on the triton one question, are the spring bars the heavy duty type like on seiko or citizen.
Thanks r
