Pro tip from a guy that works at an upfitter. Use solder shrink connectors. Their recommended by Ford in their upfitter guide. There’s no crimping. You put in the two wires. Hit it with a heat gun and it melts the built in solder connecting the wires. The heat shrink is waterproof too. It’s an amazing tool!
Just installed mine, also the tailgate assist with, the help of your video's. I'm not a handyman but your videos even helped me to look like I knew what I was doing :-) Thanks!
I'm going to do this to my XLT but I think I'm going to buy an extra bed cubby and put it inside the cubby. I'm also going to stop by a local key shop and have a lock installed on it.
Just did this DIY tonight, used a Dremel to get my holes the right size. It was perfect!! I have base model XL that I just got this week. Was a great DIY and thanks for the video!!
Trinh, can you share where you purchased or obtained the plug and wire extension kit? I have a 2023 Maverick and this was not included. I have the marine outlets, now I’m looking for the plug and cable. Thank you in advance.
The best thing about the Maverick 12 volt system is that now with the recent update, which was part of a recall, the 12 volt system runs continuously. So when you leave a device plugged in in the car and you return a couple hours later it's fully charged.
I have a dashcam installed on my maverick connected to the 12 V outlet, just how you said, its always on, do you know if I leave it plug my battery will go out of power? Or it turn of the outlet when it detects low powet
I didn't order my Maverick with the factory inverter because I already had one, 400 watt like the factory. Once you install this type of plug you can plug your inverter into it and you good to go. In fact I just installed the plug yesterday and tested using the inverter. Worked perfectly fine. I plugged the soldering iron I used into the inverter and the iron heated right up.
Hi Sam, very nice channel. Thanks for all the help. I just got my Maverick 2024 Hybrid XLT but it did not come with a 110V bed Plug. How can we add that?. Thanks a lot
Hey Sam, do you know if it’s possible to hook up something similar to that in addition to a cargo led light on the same panel? Would the wiring accommodate two items like that or would I need something that splits off into two connectors? Novice electrician here, so excuse my lack of knowledge.
Please tell me if, when I remove the cover plate I can not see the ground through a large opening below? I see the ground - there is no cover under the truck to enclose this compartment on my t ruck.
Thank you. This was helpful. But I need continuous power. You mentioned the power was switched and would turn off after a period of time. Is there a way to get essentially endless power? For example, place the vehicle in park, leave the vehicle on, connect your continuous draw 12VDC device and let it run. The ICE would kick on as needed to replenish the battery. So, as long as you have gas, then you have power (even though you are in park and not driving anywhere). Is something like this possible? Thank you, Andrew PS. I'm planning on ordering the 2023 model as soon as ordering opens again in August.
Question: What is the part number for the plug and wire set / extension in this video? I have a 2023 Maverick and this was not included with the vehicle. I’ve talked with my local dealership (Roswell, GA) and they are having a difficult time locating this plug & wire set shown. Thank you in advance.
Is it possible to connect 40$ after-market 400w 110v inverter to the 12v outlet you just installed? How much power and the fuse amperage for the factory preserved 12v wire? Thanks.
@@TDTVGarage Thanks, as shared from mavericktruckclub, the rear 12vdc is usually fused with 20A fuse, thus the maximum power is about 200~240w if we hook a $40 aftermarket inverter. However, per your advice, the Maverick truck manual (www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?variantid=8431&languageCode=en&countryCode=USA&Uid=G2213267&ProcUid=G2190098&userMarket=usa&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False) says maximum amperage is 15, which means 180w maximum output.
I would provide affiliate links to the products you are using especially if they are from amazon, would help out both the audience and yourself. Cheers!
We are trying to straddle the line between being helpful and promoting products (which is not our business here). In the case of these items you can search them easily on Amazon and find dozens of choices from different companies. They are not hard to find.
I added a cubby to the drivers side. I also added the same switch to the passenger side cubby. But I installed on the inside wall closet to the front of the vehicle. That way I still have storage and the switch.

You give us new Maverick owner a big leap in not going broke:) Keep up the fantastic job with all the help, thanks.
my 2024 ford maverick xl hybrid has 12 volt power ports in the cargo bay but they do not have power, how do i turn on the power to these ports?

What if you want an inverter?
I am holding out for the 2025 Ford Pinto.
you should probably order now if you want it in 2025
Would you be able to do a project where you change it into a power inverter for plugging in household items

Wait! So, a regular 12v outlet, plus a 400w inverter means i can use 110v items? @williemccoy259
@@AaronPachtinger Yes, 110V items up to 400W - which is enough to charge batteries or a small TV
Great video link where you got connectors please
Available at any hardware, home, or auto parts store. Walmart even.
Please ,is it possible to install OEM 4000W power inverter outlet ?
My Maverick came without it .
Is it an expensive item ?
Thank you !
It is helped me to hook it up soon but i need to know what side for the drill bit for big hole?
Hi Sam, very nice channel. Thanks for all the help. I just got my Maverick 2024 Hybrid XLT but it did not come with a 110V bed Plug. How can we add that?. Thanks a lot
Check your glove compartment that's where mine was at along with an antisyphon funnel
I added that outlet a few weeks ago. I noticed the inside is rusting a bit.
I just finished adding this to the bed of my XL. It looks good. Now what can I do to the other side?

could I hook up an aftermarket 1W pure sine inveter to the 12v in the bed?
Would love the Amazon link to this item
Me too

If you want to use the outlet/s, do you have to turn on the engine to avoid discharging the battery?
Sure. At some point the computer will turn off the power if it threatens the battery however

If the vehicle is switched on, the power stays constant.

Not sure what part number is. It should be found under your rear seat in the storage area. That is where they put them from the factory.
@@TDTVGarage Thank you. I will try looking there again.
@@TDTVGarage Mine was in the glove box. 2023 hybrid.
Is this 12v good enough to charge Milwaukee batteries?
For some reason I can't get mine to work, does anyone know the Fuse number and location?

You can consult the owners manual to determine what the amperage is for the rear power point circuits

How long does the power stay on until the truck cuts the power?
Until the computer decides it's time. It varies.
I dont think it based on time, i think it based on power left.
I came back 60 minute after and it still running on.
parts link plz?

What size were the pilot holes?
