    Installed a waterproof switch panel in the bed of my Maverick. Easy install with Ford's flexbed options. Haven't hooked anything to it yet, I just wanted to have the power ready to when I start installing bed lights, power inverters and stuff.

    Love my 22 hybrid Maverick. Just drove 12 hours in it yesterday at highway speeds and got honest 37mpg.

    Thanks. I was wondering what that extra cable connector was for that came with our Maverick. 😂

    Honestly I couldn’t wait to order my hybrid xlt so I probably got bent over at the dealer yesterday but I been daily driving a super duty 6.7 Deisel F350 and the price I paid for my Maverick is worth the money I’m saving on diesel. Not to mention the mileage I was racking up on my tow rig. I kept the diesel of course and now I get to keep that truck pristine! I was spending an average of $225 a week on fuel just to go to work each week!
    Great video. Subscribed.

      Congrats. I am enjoying the great gas mileage on my Maverick too. Even with the custom camper (th-cam.com/video/33I-ysi9Nb0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SlQR3_z1t8EurVNp) I still got up to 38 mpg (city).

    Placed an order yesterday for a Maverick so I've got a long wait. I really like this solution compared to others I've seen so far. The only difference I'd make is to rewire that panel to make the first switch a sort of "Master Switch" to cut power to the entire panel. So you'd have to hit the Master Switch to supply power to the panel and then switch on whatever you want. I know LEDs have low power draw so the hour of the truck providing power is no big deal, but for peace of mind I'm probably going to do it.
    Thanks for the awesome video!

      Funny you mention this, because I was really debating if I should make a master switch out of one of those. Haha

    • @LinkFelton
      @LinkFelton ปีที่แล้ว

      @@irvinec3270 to me it'd be peace of mind to do it. Plus I think 5 switches are more than enough anyway. Probably would have to switch the breaker for that Master Switch for something bigger if you do the entire panel. Or just have the Master Switch control the 12v plug, USBs and/or screen.

    Thanks for your videos, I've been loving them! Can you show one with a power inverter to the 400W? I skipped the luxury package on my maverick so that it would get picked up by the factory earlier. It worked and I got my maverick fast, but now I want to install a 400W inverter like the one that is included in the luxury package.

    Thanks again for posting this video! Did you ever find out if closing the tailgate shut the panel off faster? My maverick has finally shipped and I hope to be installing one of these soon.

      I did not time the difference, but through casual observation there is zero difference. Congrats on the truck. #1 hated thing about the maverick is the wait. Haha

    I'm installing one with just three switches the USB outlet and the 12-volt Outlet. The third switch is extra in case they want to add something in the future this is just for the bed lights. Also I bought a 12 volt inverter that plugs into the 12-volt Outlet to give me a 110V A/C Outlet. What do you plan to use all those switches for? ???

    This would be perfect if it included a space for a receptacle to run 110 AC through a power inverter

      I agree! I wish it did too! I may take out the voltmeter, bore a bigger hole and put in a 110 plug.

    Any update on adding led bed lights to that panel.. I tried on a smaller panel but, blew the 20A fuse.. replaced it.. and nothing.. how would you correctly connect LED’s that come with a switch.. to the panel, using a switch on the panel?

    • @GearGadgetExperiments
      @GearGadgetExperiments  ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure. With water proof port like this amzn.to/3C0CThy .
      You can easily fit a 400w inverter in the space.

      Just before you added electrical tape for added protection, I was going to suggest adding heat shrink tubing. Still wouldn’t be a bad idea. I would think it would be a more permanent solution to electrical tap.
      With that being said, I wasn’t knocking your decision. It is very nice install! Looks great!
