I like it . I have added unorthodox clips to a few of my multitool s removing there bolt & grinding down clip to fit then super gluing bottom part . It was actually successful . Next time I will be trying your way Thanks
This does work well, but if you have a Swiss Tool you should really check out the clips that Victorinox recently release for them. They work well, here is a link to my video about them: th-cam.com/video/d27cGDVJf2s/w-d-xo.html
I'm going to have to try this. I've been looking into getting a Spirit X. I've seen a few other peopledone mechanical modifications to add a clip, but this seem more my skill level.
Yeah wisconsin. I used a niteeyes clip with stick on tape. The tape did not work very long. I used two part epoxy made for metal and stainless steel. It has held together for more than a year now.
Heck yeah Wisconsin! I wasn't counting on this being permanent, really just checking to see if I would like the placement before using a more aggressive form of attachment. I am at a little more than a month and the tape is holding up just fine. When the tape fails I will likely use an epoxy like you suggest.
Of course. On a related note, Victorinox just released pocket clips that will attach to the swiss tool and the swiss tool spirit. I ordered one that should be here by the end of this week. I will probably make a video about the clip this weekend. 😊
Thanks, glad you liked it. The adhesive on mine is begging to loosen a bit, not surprising, it's been over a year, so I am exploring ideas for a more permanent clip now that I know I like the placement and utility of this one.
@@JoshsShop yes, i found your experience with this very interesting, and your solution quite unique, thanks again. hey, i saw this vid (th-cam.com/video/0EdvDW0N-5U/w-d-xo.html ) where he seems to have secured some kind of 3rd party clip on there ...perhaps there is someone out there actually making/selling one ? just thought to mention as may help. happy 4th weekend !
Good job! I think it's possible with a money clip. Why have you placed it on that face and on that handle of the multintool?... Is it the most comfortable place to use the knife? Greetings from Spain!
It lasted over a year, but I have now switched to the clip that Victorinox sells specifically for the Spirit. It is a nice clip, and I have a little review of it here if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/d27cGDVJf2s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wxt8wtI0VeiRX69F
I am at a little more than a month and the tape is holding up just fine. I have looked at the Nite Ize clip, I am not a huge fan of the shape and size. Also, I had a spare one of these clips laying around to give a try. I really like how the cut out at the top of this clip allows the clip to be a little higher up on the tool because it can split around the rivet.
It is still sticking, although it is a bit loose. The tape is kind of stretching. I am probably going to have to either replace the tape, which will be very little cost, I already have it, or I will need to find a more permanent solution. Now that I know I like the location of the clip I am more confident in attaching it permanently. I will be sure to make a new video of the solution. Thanks for watching.
It lasted a good year, but then I switched to the Victorinox made clip for my spirit, which is fantastic. I have a video of it here: th-cam.com/video/d27cGDVJf2s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fLp04FQGZY-LprAf
For some unknown reason that is how I see the word in my head, and I catch myself saying (and spelling) it wrong often. I have no good excuse, I do try to edit it out, but I don't always catch it. I am sorry that my pronunciation turned you away from the video. This is an older video anyway, and Victorinox has since released a clip that attaches to the Swiss tools. They are great, and if you care to learn more about them you can see my video here: th-cam.com/video/d27cGDVJf2s/w-d-xo.html No promises that I don't mispronounce Victorinox again though.
Neat. This would be great for SAKs.

It works pretty well, mine is now beginning to loosen, but it is easy to take it off, clean it up, and do it again. Good luck.
I broke the screw that came with the clip victorinox sell. But I love this idea, thanks for this video! 😲😄
Oh no, how did you break it?
Yeah wisconsin. I used a niteeyes clip with stick on tape. The tape did not work very long. I used two part epoxy made for metal and stainless steel. It has held together for more than a year now.

excellent tip and video, big thanks man, extremely helpful, subbed & liked !!

Thanks! Like you suggested, I chose that location for the clip because it seems to be the most comfortable and least obtrusive for me.
Update to how long the tape lasted? Very nice.

How long has it been holding up? Nite Ize makes a stick on clip too.

How well does it fare after a year of service?

Victorinox now sell clips dedicated to the spirit.
Yeah, I got one and made a video: th-cam.com/video/d27cGDVJf2s/w-d-xo.html
Victorinox is now selling clips for swisstool
Sure are, and I got one. Here is my video about it: th-cam.com/video/d27cGDVJf2s/w-d-xo.html
I stopped watching when you pronounced the name Victoria-nox.
