The fans not working and the speedo not working is a vacuum line issue. Your vacuum lines are probably all rotten. I had the same with my 190e, took ages to diagnose hopefully can help you on where to look first.
I dont think that the speedometer issue is from vacuum lines, because the meter gets moved my a "Tachowelle" that connects the Transmission with the Combiinstruments. The Engine RPM meter is connected to vaccum but it seems it wworks just fine.
I know this is a month old and most probably not an issue anymore but by the end of the video I think you can see that defrost button is “pressed on” (1st button left to right) and while that is on it won’t allow for fan manual settings, I also got a 190E not long ago and realized by reading user manual that this buttons feature’s don’t make sense with their symbols as you would expect compared to modern Benz’s, like climate control looks super simple but it’s actually surprisingly not haha, love this video series and the community, cheers! 🙌
If you’re considering motor swaps look into the m111 Kompressor (4 pot supercharged) and m104 (6 pot)! They are (basically) the same motor in different sizes..! They handle boost very well! Lots of variations of each motors with some m104s coming from factory with dual valve springs, and piston oil squirters! Unopened motors are capable of ≈500hp (m111) and 650hp (m104). Ungraded motors are capable of ≈ 700hp and 1000hp respectively! The m104 is the german 2J.
@@jsaj2 they were in the w202 w124 r129 w140 with the models usually having a 280 300 or 320 in their name. So you could probably look for a half-cut or get a cheap car and swap out the engine.

The speedo is most likely the cable not being tight enough. Its a tight fit, but you can pull the cluster out and try to squeez your hand in and tighten. You can also pull out the driver side air vent and reach in and tighten it. The two middle vents in the dash arent actually connected to the hvac so you wont get blown air from them. However that little slider up and down opens and closes them to allow fresh air from outside in. Loving the progress videos, cause you're lighting a fire for me. I'm pretty sure the middle 2 are for AC and the outer 2 are for heat. unless his model came without AC then i guess you're right. just in case he has AC though, middle vents should blow cold, outer vents should blow hot
new engine m104 3.2l with a singe turbo or if you want to be different om606 turbo diesel 3.0l great both Mercedes engines and they can produces around 500hp stock internals and if you want a big brake upgrade for cheaper you can get the Mercedes r129/r126 they are a bit different one has a skinny calliper then the other one so you might need to do some research if you want a big brake upgrade.
The m104 3L M104.980 can rev higher and hold more power. The only downside is it came with the Bosch jetronics bs. So you will have to delete that and run later model intake manifold or a custom one. Another good option is the m111 2.3L from a slk 230. They can make 3-400 hp no problem with bigger injectors and replacing the supercharger for a turbo. As far as transmissions go the 722.633 is a great all around transmission that will hold all the power you will need/want if your going to over 600hp your probably going to want the AMG variant of the 722.6. you will need to swap the bellhosing on most of the 722.6 for one using the m101/2/3/4/11 etc housing.
Speedometer is probs the drive cable has snapped, you’ll have to pull the side vent out to unscrew the brass collar from Behind the dash, and you’ll see the cable drive going into the gearbox hanging underneath, it’ll have some foam sleeve around it where it sits against the box
@@anthonyf3253 yep. I tuned mine. You use a multimeter with duty cycle and hit a couple of pins on a plug port near the ezl to adjust. There's a percentage it needs to be for it to be correct. Don't mess with this if you don't know what you're doing.

That hole on top of the intake is for the idle tuning valve. It'll change the fuel air ratio
Fuel metering mixture screw* of which you shouldn’t be touching unless you know how to setup a kjet system

A guy from Romania told me that the best to clean off oil from an engine is a cheap break cleaner as it eats up anything that has oil and grease.
