- The woman who is facing charges in connection with a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 that left two people dead in Philadelphia back in March has turned herself in.
So she’s going to blame it on the car? Not her ability to be in control of it? Riiiight.
Rightfully so!!! Hands free driving feature was advertised for these type of scenarios.

I assume the Mach-E operates similar to a Tesla in autopilot mode wherein you can turn on the autopilot at most any speed under say 80-85 mph and it will maintain that speed while keeping you in the lane. It doesn't limit the car to the speed limit. This is not to be confused with Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) where on city streets the car's speed is limited.

The hands free driving on all cars state you need to be pay attention and be able to take over in case of an emergency. So you can not be impaired even with the self driving mode on. Your are ultimately responsible

@@imrytebeehyneucruise control is not even close to the same thing. People who use hands fee mode use it as an excuse to sleep, work on their laptops, read a book. Cruise control doesn’t encourage that.

Further- how many stories do you hear of drivers causing fatal wrecks and specifically blaming the cruise control, because they were sleeping or altered/intoxicated, in the same way that has begun to occur with BEVs? Serious question.

This is tragic! It’s a shame she depended on that feature. I’m not sure I could 100% rely on a car to drive me anywhere safely on its own. I have this in my car and have never attempted to use it. So sad! RIP to the young men that lost their lives.

Now we have to look up. Insane.
Car didn’t start itself. She had to push a button or turn a key and tell it where to go. So before she even activated the hands free mode she was guilty of DUI!

After watching this again and recently been on this strip on 95 south. It's not totally her fault. If you have driven in this area. 95 is being redo, since like year 2000. Before the fire happened on 95, thus area always been tight and ppl speed. I hate it. There are no shoulders when ppl have car trouble. If you stop, prayers up for you. It dangerous... pendot needs to fix this so more ppl don't die or get hurt

Yea , it was an edge case n the cops on field couldn’t fully decide since automated driving involved and the fact that the stopped car was partially occupying the labe on a curb. , if not for DUI , she would not have been charged.

that is not an automated vehicle contrary to what ford might be saying in their ads to sell it. it’s guided only by cruise control so it only goes one direction once it’s activated, it doesn’t have the AI brain and therefore won’t have the ability to think and make decisions to safely navigate the vehicle (proper lane changes, collision avoidance, stopping at red lights or stop signs or upon detection of pedestrians and other objects on the road).
