    Leaf springs dont have the same effect . Leafs can run withought a swaybar and shocks depending on weights its only coils and airbags that do that . That bad just look at truck suspension which 4x4 copies a few years later like parabolicsprings and airbags ect..

    The best reason to have good shocks, braking!, shit shocks will increase your braking distance dramatically as your back wheels are virtually in the air and your front end will skip over rough and uneven road surface!

    Very cool. Except for the on road analysis. Should have done a moose test, and an emergency braking test over road irregularities and add a corner (do this at a low speed). Basically you travel at a faster speed on road, and there are pedestrians and other drivers and passengers around. So on road is actually the worst of the lot.

    They're actually called dampers. "Shock absorbers" are technically the springs. The springs absorb the shock, and the dampers control the rate the stored energy is released.

    • @rps13sr
      @rps13sr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethan Reilly but he dampers you described sound exactly as the word shock absorber. It absorbs the shock by controlling the rate energy is stored and released. Spring and shock combo. Means a spring. You know the twirly metal thing. Then the shock absorbers or what some people call dampers.

    • @WiteBizkit
      @WiteBizkit 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rps13sr sorry buddy, but no, the spring absorbs the shock, and the damper DAMPENS the shock impulses absorbed by the coil spring. You know, that twirly metal thing? Yeah. 😂

    • @gman69455
      @gman69455 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethan Reilly actually the damper is called a shock absorber. The springs main purpose is to support weight of the vehicle and to allow the suspension to flex. The shock or shock absorber does just that, absorbs the shock and controls the rebound of the spring.

    • @rps13sr
      @rps13sr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok so then what does the shock absorber do.. smh you know the ones they sell everywhere it consist of a tube with another tube over it and usually has gas in it so it can function as a "Shock absorber"

    • @WiteBizkit
      @WiteBizkit 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I literally just Google searched both of the two terms. Google proved me right, cunts.
      DAMPER:
      A damper is a device that deadens, restrains, or depresses. Damper may refer to: Dashpot, a type of hydraulic or mechanical damper, Shock absorber (British or technical use: damper), a mechanical device designed to dissipate kinetic energy.
      CAR SPRINGS:
      A coil spring, also known as a helical spring, is a mechanical device which is typically used to store energy and subsequently release it, to absorb shock, or to maintain a force between contacting surfaces.
      So to summarise, in a car suspension system, the spring absorbs the shock, and the damper controls the storing and release of the energy. Not that hard.
