Lol I have a 92 k1500 with a 4.3l. God do I wish I had a v8. But she’s just a camping rig for trips and some off roading. I don’t need much power for off roading. Plus I can go further on the trails with a v6.
Great thing about diesel is that since they can go further with the same amount of fuel you don’t have to bring as much extra fuel on your journey as in a petrol.
A compounded Cummins would of been a great match. Weight is a killer though.

Same Torque but not same Power.
What I actually do not get is why so many car enthusiasts do not take 2 steps more to make it a good comparison: Torque @ the WHEELS gets your car driving - NOT @ the ENGINE.
+tire size obviously. e.g.: On that diesel you have maybe a ratio that is 30% longer to get you decent RPM in highest gear. That = 30% LESS torque @the wheels which gets you going.

It's a blacktop? I run one of those myself but I was a little nervous as I heard they werent as tough as the silvertop and my funds dont really allow for repairs. Then again it is a mighty td42...

Don't stress mate still a very strong motor. They lightened some of the internels and they can't handle stupid amounts of boost like the silver tops but keep it standard and they last.
Diesel is way better we all know it as well. Even the petrol owners know it

@@speyles What do you think about switching to 37x12.5-15LT Maxxis Creepy Crawler tires with some 15x9 wheels(15x9 instead of 15x8 because of being wider than a radial 12.5 tire and it's bias ply construction) or some other 37 inch tire/wheel combo and the additional lift/clearancing necessary.

Just want to ask: Is there any difference OR difficulty in building a vehicle's engine that can run on bio-diesel compared to a vehicle's engine that can {only} run on regular diesel ❓

If he used 14 litres to travel 80km. It's 17.5L/100km.
So 11 litres for 80km would be 13.75 litres per 100km.

A proper Petrol vs Diesel Patrol comparison would be between tuned TD42s and TB48s. Now that's something I'd watch from start to finish.
LS is over powered and alot more weight. Patrol is lighter btter Hp to weight ratio & Bigger Tyres Equals more Grip....Not a Lvl PLaying Comaprison!

LS V8's; reliably powering everything from Corvettes to Heavy Duty full size pickups.
TD42's; ridiculously heavy, underachieving overheating boat anchor, that nissan sourced from their medium duty forklift. Which is why, going any faster than a forklift, they promptly overheat.
They also have a religious following of devotees, who've all chased overheating issues, who will also reply to me shortly with abuse. Abuse they can not give their TD42, because it will overheat......again.
Alot of shit talking that hilux but LS patrol only got 1 meter further up the dune with an extra 2Ltrs and 4 cylinders 450hp vs 80hp... not a good look i reckon

My turbo ls got better economy than na on the highway because the turbo hadn't spooled is was shit at towing though so i put smaller snails on it the td was probably similar on the highway i reckon 4.8 or 5.3ls turbo you could set up with way better economy on of my tds has a built auto and its awesome.Ive had a 460 big block in a patrol as well that was a tyre shredding wheel stander

I don't have a fuel card, I get just shy of 1000k's to a tank, with a tb45E, a good tune and proper driving will be far more influencial than fuel type in this situation
