Thanks for the tip on the jump button. It's going to take some getting used to, but it already feels natural! I was able to remap the A button to planks! Now I have planks, throwables, and food on hot keys!
I never put jump on sticks in videogames, as it often happens you're moving both controllers AND need to press to jump, which inevitably makes you way less precise on the movement. For me, R1 is to jump and while doing it I can still be very precise, must have for boarding battles for my personal taste.

But for sure, never put on on the 4 right buttons moves that you need to use while also jumping and moving (both moving character AND camera). This is really a must follow rule for all games if you're playing with controller, or you will have a huge disadvantage against keyboard n mouse players.
for the jump you can also use a claw grip, i have been a claw user on nearly all the controller games i play and after you get used to it its arguely better then chaning your jump button. This is because it also means you can click a,b,y,x all while still having a finger on the sticks.

I play on pc so if people are using the preffered xbox players, I am mostly coming up againts PC mouse players, wish they had a setting to disable just the mouse instead of ruling out all pc players. will try your settings and see if it helps.
I warn against remapping jump to stick click. Using stick as a hotkey is a fast track to stick drift. Thats right! You can blame stick drift on sprint and melee in cod! Dont not use it, but dont make it a common one either. Also i wouldnt tell folks to max out sensitivity OR tell them to do it in incriments. I would tell them to pick a sens they feel most deadly at and let muscle memory do its thing. If you ramped it to ten, yes, do it now and leave it there. Getting used to a sens youre not going to use is some herp a derp stuff. Raising it to ten, rotate the right stick (ogre twitch) lower to 8.5, rotate ctick (ogre twitch. Halo pro player. Ogre. He circled his right stick a lot and it let his brain dial in) my sens is 8. But ill raise it to ten, ogre twitch, lower it again, twitch again, and now for some reason it feels way better. 🤷♂️ Ill put what i said in another video here: "I switched item wheel to LB. Also, your matchmaking tip is a trap. Think! The newbs dont know to do this. Theyre with everyone else! The 'xbox only' guys are the guys who specifically put themeselves there because theyre trying at the game, but dont like the idea of getting outmatched with hardware. In my experience, youll be with players wanting a TDM, just a fair one.
Hey, so thanks a lot for this. But I was wondering, instead of jump on my stick, what could I do? It’s hard for my thumb to press the stick. I have the Xbox elite 2 controller and have paddles on the back. I could use my middle finger for that?
Yeah, I dunno if it's the shape of my hands, or what, but I also have a real hard problem pressing down on the sticks. I use the Elite, myself, with paddles for both jump and sprint, for exactly this reason.

I play on controller, I tried mouse and keyboard and I just like the controller better for movement and combat. It took me months to get my key binds and buttons just right so I could compete with the pc/ mouse and keyboard players. I also have a keyboard hooked up just for communication and some extra key binds. I love this game but whoever at Rare set up the default controller settings needs to do better.
I run a Steam Deck in my spare time and binding the touch sensor on the left stick to enable gyro is pretty freeing. The outer ring is also set to spam the run key so that frees up all my motion for everything else. I also like jump on the stick click
Is there a way to disable the Right Stick Press Function ? Cause Sometimes when Im in a PvP Gun fight im pushing the Stick to Hard an got into the Text message. So is there a way to disable the Press Funktion of the Right Stick ? In the Settings i can only Change it to a other button, But Every Button has its right function right now.

I have different sensitivities for all 3 guns! I have pistol at pretty low, blunderbuss at default, and EoR at max. I use the EoR underwater mostly, so it helps to be able to move it around quickly. As far as controller sensitivity, I have it maxed out.

Yeah, I re-mapped the extra button to speaking trumpet, because it's important for me to trash-talk other ships at a moment's notice.
I remap my jump to the extra bumper on some controllers but you have to have it mapped to a normal button you don’t use as much
Also, putting jump on the stick is a game changer. It totally changed my controller gaming. That’s a really good tip, and I’m glad you addressed that.

Also i would add some settings. Use food rs, controller response curv to 1,3. Jump with a using crawl. And lastly use 120+ fov
Normal players can’t use 120 FOV it puts their account at risk to get banned. Nonetheless you have go into the game files for that.

if you play claw your hand gets stuck like that after a certain amount of time so have fun being half trex

From default settings you should have R3 as zoom only which shouldn't effect you during combat. Then just bind everything else how you like.

Putting food and throwables on dpad is absolutely terrible.
