  • A multipart video series of me making my first ever merge collectors with the use of the LPSFAB collector cutting jig
    Learning how to make the correct cuts to suit different flange sizes like t3 and t4 etc and then practising and learning the best way to tig weld them up to get the best looking results A few people have asked about donating to the channel and although that is not expected it is of course very welcome and very much appreciated so for anyone who does want to make a donation please click on the link below

    I don"t think I will ever make a collector like that but I had to watch it all the same. Such a relaxed way you have in doing what you do...Waiting for part two....

      KINZY FABRICATIONS I like your explanation because I just messed up my pipes trying to cut them all the same. I had the jig too close to the band saw blade and took off too much material plus my pieces are about 4.25” inches compared to yours that are only 3” long. Im going to try what you showed with PVC pipe. You earned yourself a new subscriber!

    Very nice video. How do you calculate or define the cut depth? I need to make a 3in1 collector with a round end for a vband 😄

    • @kinzy_fabrications
      @kinzy_fabrications  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel I’m afraid that’s pretty much trial and error to get it as close as you can for your flange, a good starting point is cutting the tubes down to 75mm to start with

    Hello mate, so i made a jig and today i finally cut the pipes like you...So its square collector for 4 cylinder and fits good..But its from plastic to practice :D but it doesnt matter..now i need to make a 5 cylinder square..How you made it? The same like 4 cylinder but 72 degree and how you pair it, as there arent 4 pieces , but 5 ...But thank you anyway...really good explanation ...you deserve much more subscribers...

    • @kinzy_fabrications
      @kinzy_fabrications  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for the comments. im glad the video helped you with your 4 cyl collector, i have not done a 5cyl before so can't show you any examples personally, but yes 72* would be correct. As for how to pair it you fit them equally and then the best way is once tac'd together cut the end down so it matches your flange as best you can and then dress the metal to the final flange shape.
      Thanks
      Marc

    You could cut all 4 at the first attempt.
    And when you make the second cut just turn two of them to the left and two of them to the right or am i thinking wrong?

      @ilikemyboost dude, go to lpsfab.com and grab one man. You wont regret it. Its a little pricey, but it will save you money and even make you money if youre into that. This video is one of the best explanations of how to use it too! I wish I had this when I got mine haha. I'm also going to be making a 5cyl collector for an AAN for a customer and having Justin from LPS (cutting fixture) cut me the flange! Good luck!

      Hi,
      The material is cheaper but so was the customers budget so this suited there requirements and the 304sch10 works fine for manifolds, it’s just a bit heavy
