KTM should continue to sell the 390 Adventure base model with cast wheels as a beginner’s “ Explorer “ 80% 70% on-road / 20% 30% off-road Motorcycle. This would be a lower price option to a later on upgrade to a higher price next step up for the on / off road motorcycle KTM family of Adventure Bikes.
Let me get this TH-cam dagger out of my back, and they I can address your comment Kyle. ouch, ouch! I agree, the Ibex / MT 450 is the bike with the interest right now. A slightly modified 390 may capture interest once its final, but a potential late 2025 bike, is simply not going to have the draw of a new twin cylinder bike with all the features of the CFMoto 450. I will say, however, that the 390 leaked video is outperforming the Royal Enfield 450 video. OUCH! It seems THE hot mid-sized bike will be the Ibex 450. - Frank
The Kawasaki Versys 300X is basically very similar to the CFMoto 450, but the price for basic scheduled maintenance such as valve check / resets cost about a third - fourth of the Versys 300X’s MSRP.- WTF ?!!! So the CFMoto 450 really needs to have these prices UP FRONT before being considered for purchase, - not matter how good it is !!!
Devil in the details with the chinese bikes. People love the kove 450 then u look and see theres oil changes every 2k miles… not quite an adventure bike.
@@leeinwis as it should be - the tractor factor is important. Dont want a multicylinder for harder off road sections. If a single is smooth on the freeway with good economy and range, a twin doesnt really have any advantage for adventure riding in my opinon.
I have the 2024 390 duke with the quickshifter. Now my wheel house is more 1000cc naked bikes but this little canyon carver is really fun and powerful. I’m 6 foot so I say little because I’m getting use to riding a smaller bike. But that’s how you’re able to toss it around. Yes great reviews on the old model and huge changes on the 2024 duke. So I took the new one, passing up on the savings of the 2023 model. Very impressive for $6299, and you can hang with any bike on the backroads. Even so 65 to 85 on the freeway with ease. Although a naked bike is a lot of work on the freeway and a heavier bike has its positives on the freeway. Anyway I wanted to get something where cost of ownership was not even a thought but the bike was so fun to ride, it’s the one you would grab most of the time. Ktm 390 duke has this in ♠️’s
@@michaelrieser9928 yeah cant wait to see that engine in the new ADV. Enough power on the freeway and enough torque down low for tractoring thru tricky offroad sections without stalling. Looks like it will be the first proper sub 600cc engine/transmission ever made for adventure riding - finally! Glad u are enjoying the duke!
RE, CF Moto, and these KTM leaks. I'm wondering if BMW is working on a GS 310 replacement. Doubt tubeless but would be nice, 200m Apex stuff from the 790 ADV, hopefully gets some low tanks. Enduro like is good - want a bike that's basically a better Honda 300L Rally.
So we are here….Cf moto or Ktm? I speak for me….here in Quebec Canada, licence plate for 400cc is about 450$ Can/year. 450cc and up….is 750$/ year. Yes i love the Ibex 450…but if 2025 ktm 390 (rally version) is price competitive i will think twice? Great talking👍
@@Weltbummler23 doubt it. I've owned a 390 if you don't mind low quality pot metal and bolts stripping left and right . KTM did nothing about it also because it's "normal" Go ahead buy one you're gonna love it
@@MotoCampAdv Sorry to hear about your experience with an older 390 adv, the only thing id say about that is that this seems to be a ~90% brand new bike, like the duke, so whatever problems you had with the v1 or v2 may be gone. If your complaint is about KTM in general, i get it, but regardless of their quality issues KTM has a huge following and people keep going back. if u want quality, don’t see how your are convinced to run to china for a brand new bike. I think fortnine or some other youtuber did a motor oil test last year and the chinese engines came in last place, tons of shavings and metal in the oil, but the indian ones did rather well. Let us know how it works out if you do go for it.
I’m excited for this. As a DR650 owner, this answers a lot of the wants DR owners have been asking from Suzuki. Similar power, but with 6 speed, EFI.

KTM 390 Adv wish list:
21/18 tubeless, 8”-9” travel, 9”+ ground, sub 360lbs wet, 4 gallon tank
Hello, I think the closest we can get to that is a DR650 with an aftermarket tank! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
I want to ride offroad! The compromise should be the on road psrt with an adventure bike which is the boring part.

This video is a Dud compared to the 450 MT... seems people are leaning another direction ?

So many positive reviews of the new engine on the duke, and supposedly very smooth over a wide rpm range.
Still a one cylinder..

The new duke has already had engine seizure issues reported . I'll take my chances with the cfmoto 450 vs the Bajaj 390.
Im sure there are a few cf450s with engine seziures as well, but why make a decision based on outliers.

Can someone state where the sweet spot is that ADV Matt talks about? Either in rpm or highway speed, std sprockets.
