Hey Matty, just trying to get caught up on some of my videos, was super happy to see you had a few put out with your trip. just wanted to give ya props for the narration, videography, editing, this is top notch and by far the best I've seen from ya. Can't wait to see some more, hope all is good my friend. Cheers from New Brunswick, CAN !
Well Matty oh boy, I've been waiting a couple years for this unbelievable adventure ahead! For me i'll sit in my armchair and watch but for you to have experience something like that must have been otherworldly and emotional all at the same time! Thank God you're able to do it because the majority of viewers wouldn't be able to. I can't wait to see the next episode!! Godspeed!
@@skoteoutdoors from a fellow Newfie to another....you've made the island very very proud! From a top-notch trapper, woodsman and pioneer to now a craftsman and a seafaring voyager you need a well-deserved million+ subs just to get all the exploits you've done out there! I know possibly this is not the right thing to say but 'since you have now gotten your feet wet' (Lol) a journey for all the ages?.....how about rowing completely around Newfoundland?! But whatever your next adventure will be, I'll be watching and vicariously living my life through your unmatched Herculean adventures....can't wait!!
Matty, can’t tell you the surprise it was to wake up and see you dropped a video. Hell yeah. So good to hear from you. I hope this series continues. Have a great summer !
Very, very well done, Matty! You are a quiet, humble, and most capable genius with wisdom way beyond your age! Adam and you deserve the best that life can give, and you make a great pair in bringing this to fruition. You take the bull by the horns and make it into the most meaningful ride! No doubt about this! Thanks for sharing the wonderful story which is inspiring and gives me the motivation to also do special things for myself which I often did in the past.
Hey Matty, I was skoted to see this series finally begin. There was adventure with that flat tire even before the boats were in the water. Can’t wait for the next episode. Thanks for taking us along with you !
ehh man ya its been a bit hasn't it. There is so much footage from this trip, this series is only scratching the surface. this Sunday morning another episode will be up.
What an incredible series I've just found! This is so much more ambitious than the average trip it's awesome! Why did you decide to eat so much protein while paddling? Technically protein doesn't help during an athletic endeavor I actually find it slows me down a lot if I eat it while I'm working. I stick to mostly carbs and fat while working, then eat 2 high protein meals after work and pass right out in a "protein coma" lol.
We were attempting for a balanced macro equation given the scale of the task. Keep in mind, this wasn't for a week or two, but rather four months. Leaning too heavily on carbs and fat could have provided short term energy, but we really needed the protein as well. Overall we were very happy with the food rations and found that we were satiated and generally energized throughout the day. Thanks for watching!
Next Sunday morning. Also some exciting news... along with this youtube series, there will be a full feature documentary produced by PBS that will be available for everyone to enjoy on there network!
@@skoteoutdoors Hope you do in depth video of the food preparations and how the calorie count worked out for yall. Was it enough or not etc. Thanks for all you do,sharing this in my circles on the internet too.
Nice work on the editing! Looking forward to seeing more. Haha I remember stressing for you guys when the tire situation happened and just seeing your gps tracker dot stalled for a while in the middle of nowhere. At least it had a nice view.
Lol thanks Josh. Adam told me all about how keen you were on watching the tracker. Even messaging him to mention things you've seen in our areas on satellite maps.
The entire process of this video was thoroughly enjoyable. From the preparation to the flat tire, it all contributes to the larger narrative of life. I appreciate the dedication and effort put into creating these videos. It is inspiring to see individuals venturing out and exploring our magnificent country. Well done to you and your team.
Very, very well done! Matty, you are a quiet, humble, and most capable genius! Damn good job! Adam and you really deserve the best and to work together on the best that life can offer us!
Matty and Adam, this is so EPIC !!! You guys really did an amazing job with this project. The video is 100% captivating. I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the next episode!

Very happy to get a video from both of you Have been wondering how you both are doing and progressing on your journey. Good video and the scenery was beautiful. Looking forward to another video. All the best and stay safe
I just did a kayak trip in desolation sound. I ended it wanting to do another but think a row boat would make more sense. I absolutely love this video!!!! Thank you
Oh wow what a trip. Can't express how sweet those rowboats are for a big trip. Would highly recommend. The builder is out of Vancouver, you can find his company by searching Angus RowBoats. Tell him I sent ya maybe get a deal 😉
@@skoteoutdoors yes man definitely what a crazy adventure you guys did here just watched the second one can’t want to see what’s next feels like I’m watching natural geo 😂
I did the road trip part of your journey in August 2022. I know right where you were when you got the flat.... oh man. Good luck can't wait for the next video.
we used a very high powered vitamix style blender. If worked...OK, but there were definitely still little chunks of jerky mixed in with the pemmican and it could have done to be a little finer of a powder. But it got the job done!
@@adam_riley So when that happens, do you think heating the whole mixture for a little while would help everything get saturated? Cuz I only have a food processor, amd I’m sure it’ll still be chunky. As soon as the weather cools, I’m gonna dry up a bunch of meat and try it.
@@jimf1964 yeah heating it may help. I think using regular dried meat vs jerky will make a difference as well. We didn’t have the time or capacity to dry all our meat so we bought several pounds of bulk jerky from Costco. I think it was a little harder and thicker than if we had done it ourselves. Back in the day they just used a mortar and pestle so I’m sure it’s possible to get it to a fine powder with a food processor!
@@adam_riley Ahhh, yeah. Jerky is no where near enough dry. You could have just put it in the oven at around 175deg for a few hours to make it drier. I dry a lot of food for camping, and to have preserved food, so I got a pretty good drier. Even with the drier, I tried it recently and found out it has to be very lean meat though, because it never really dried enough to be "crispy"…..made it into a plain jerky instead. Thanks for the advice!
@@jimf1964 we did indeed put it in the dehydrator for a while to get it drier. Just wouldn’t bust up to quite a fine enough powder. Didn’t bother us one bit though.
