    Hello, Mate, yes, my beloved grand taught me this similar awesome meal. She called it " The Farm Pot " as most of my family were farmers and or tradesmen. She would grind / cook, either beef or pork and layer the same way with what ever veggies from the cold storage under the kitchen. I carry on that tradition to this day. Just found your videos and truly love it and the traditions of our beloved family ancestors. Thanks & Cheers Mate. God Bless to you and yours, from Eastern Ontario a fellow Canuck 👍😊🍁 PS: nothing cooks and tastes better than cast iron cooking.👍❤️

    • @NewfieLifestyle
      @NewfieLifestyle  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You're absolutely right Paul, cast iron is the best for cooking. It's amazing the different names for the same recipe. We also call it, 7 layer dinner. I believe it's so important to keep our traditions alive, especially old recipes. This generation doesn't cook like our grandparents did many years ago, and in a few generations from now, most of our traditional recipes will be a thing of the past. It's sad to lose a part of our identity.
